How To Make A Rb25det Like The Mines R34 Gtr?
femno replied to jtrb25's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Turbo cars arent for you I dont think. If you want more response than a RB25 with a stock turbo LOL, just buy a commodore V8. -
You do know petrol has a shelf life of about 30 days? Shit petrol + OLD shit petrol = Leanout and Pinging The ECU has probably tried to save the engine by richening everything up, that why you could have black plugs, but still cant burn the fuel because its old and shit. Depending on how much you let it ping and backfire your 50% could be 3 cylinders broken. haha

Yes both the same.

Call Nissan with your VIN handy and get a genuine one, I wouldnt settle for anything less.

Brand New Volk Racing Re30 18 X 8.0 +44
femno replied to sloutch's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Even for EVOs. A 9" rim with +20 offset sits right on the guards. -
Goodwork posting those up Russ, we got a fair bit done yesterday/last night. Yes the side rails have been lowered 90mm, although the guards have dropped on 50mm, as the new guards will be cut flush to the top of the rails instead of sitting under. We wont have any dramas opening door on this trailer! Were planning to have some toolboxes mounted up front, as well as a couple of Jerry can holders. Material for the tyre rack has been ordered, should have that done within a week. Duncan, any chance of some pics of your chain and D-Shackle setup? Sounds good.

Can and up to being the operative words. Its not a given. I was fined $225 and no points both times I got done. Who here has actually been fined for this? Who here thinks they know everything by reading shit posted by people who are wrong?
-
Far out I hope they arent using these in Vic! The only way around them is by going over 250kph! No dramas!

R32 Gtst Rear Driveshafts
femno replied to Russman's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
He was doing a drift lol. Im keen to know if anyone knows if 33 ones fit? I know 33 are compatible with 34s...Id imagine they would have the larger spline though. -
Im fitting my 34 dumps soon, should fix my boost creep problems! I dont know why any R34 owner would want to change these out!
-
Youre running a GT35R on a RB20? Haha nice.

Me and 4 of my mates all chipped in and bought a cheap S/H old dual axle trailer, similar to rental ones; had full floor, hydro brakes, LT tyres, ramps underneath etc etc. Well mostly be towing our Sil80 drift car, as well as GTRs, GTSts and 180 etc. Were fixing it up and have since cut the centre of the floor out to save weight, and added space for 2 more ramps (4 in total) so we can get our low cars up without having to take front bars off. Ill see if I can get a hold of some pics, its like a 'trailer build-up' Were doing it oursleves in my garage, bit of a budget job but it should turn out well while at the same time having fun with 9" grinders, arc welders and spray guns. We actually managed to flip it over in my driveway so we could clean up and paint the underneath, as well as make our changes. Tonight we will be flipping it back onto its wheels to work on the top. Not sure what mounting points to include though. Most of the cars well be towing have tow hooks up higher than the bottom of the front bars...personally not keen on tying down from wheels. Were planning to paint it in hammertone, fit LED tail lights etc, toolbox, and have a tyre rack. Were even going to fit some 12V LED spotlights because we do alot of moving at night. Also service brakes and bearings before we use it to tow long distances. Will keep you guys updated if youre interested.

Good work mate, I knew you could do it! Let us know how it goes and be sure to post some pics! (before and after of course)

Shit ay, pretty good being able to flip your car on a public road and walk away from it, the guy was quite lucky not to be seriously hurt.

Shit, theres alot of 32s to compete with, theres alot of standouts in this thread! Ill probably post up later on this year, re-doing my whole engine bay with many additions and changes. Also a couple of exterior changes as well. Congrats to all 32 owners, all cars are looking great! Cos we all know 32s are better than 33s and 34s...

This is quite exciting Russ! Well be there to be the pit crew again and for support.

Tuner? Just anyone can advance the base timing to make more power, its pretty dodgy and dangerous in my opinion. Although with those mods you should be making around that 190kw anyway. How much did he advance it by? I think factory setting is 15 or 20, cant remember, should be on the engine info sticker under the bonnet. I would have the car checked by someone with a dyno and proper standalone knock monitor to see if its knocking at all, which could very well be possible. Even high knock for a split second over time can cause damage to the engine. Id put it back to standard base timing if i was you.

Fitting Of New Trubo With Wastegate Position, Help? Pic!
femno replied to Nick378's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Yes thats fine to do. The only thing you need to make of is that the oil drain is as close to vertical as possible. You can get sandwich-plate type spacers that incorporate a wastegate into them but this effectively brings the turbo very close to the strut tower. I reckon you could fit a wastegate on top of your manifold just where it collects at the turbo flange but alot of mucking around. You could also weld the wastegate onto the actual turbine housing, again alot of mucking around because of the materials you are dealing with. Considered going lowmount stainless manifold with gate of even highmount? -
Did you try CRD? They are extremely competitive and have more buying power than most turbo suppliers. They were able to source me a set of 2560-5 when no-one had them, got them in before Kyp and other turbo suppliers etc etc. Give them a try.

Welcome! Pics of turbo kit and/or plans!

Yes youre totally right. It is your fault because you STILL cant read. Maybe take a look at the first post in this thread. Ill point it out for you for easy reading: "Does anyone know a place around Melbourne or Geelong area. even a back yard job" For both of those requests (yes, believe it or not there are 2 options given in that quote) I have given suitable solutions. These are: 1. Place in Melbourne or Geelong - Ive recommended a shop that may be able to do the work for this guys budget 2. Backyard Job - Heres another quote of myself for easy reading - "You need to ask around...find a mate or someone who is an apprentice painter that will spray the car for you for some extra cash" So where was the contradiction you mentioned? At the end of the day the points that have been completely missed are: (ill list them for easy reading) 1. That you have not helped this guy one bit by arguing with myself and recommending Micolour. Yes I know they do good work, but come on, this guy is asking for a $1000 job 2. That in order to help people on public forms you need at least a minimum level of eyesight which inturn reflects literacy, which seems to be lacking in your department. P.S Punctuation does not help the argument if the words and letters make sense.
