Did you machine or linish or die grind with a pad any of the old gasket off? If theres big gaps in the plates then u gotta fix that first. If the AAC is playing up just block the hose going to it, its sounds dodgy but works fine without the stepup, but I dont know about when you turn the a/c on. Could really drag the idle down. Thats if the a/c works... But you can get it idling good without the sealant gunk. I cleaned mine clean as a whistle and have idle around 800 with AAC hose blocked because the AAC is shitted.

I dont see the point in the tomei units...fair enough they look mint. Who here is using them with a twin 3inch into one front pipe? Cos if youre not theres no point in having a dump with a 3inch outlet.... Just buy the Just Jap split stainless dumps. A bit less turbulence that stockers in the gate pipe and same 2.5 inch outlet, same size as most aftermarket front pipes. Makes perfect sense. The JJ ones fit perfectly too. Dont buy ebay ones. They dont fit. Theyre a throwaway. Tried myself LOL. Oh, and the tomei manifolds look mint too. But the cast stockers match ported do the same job and are half the price at the end of the day. And stronger. And wont ever crack.

Well I thought that overfilling was for modded and tracked GTRs without baffles of some sort...and I wouldnt have thought if you didnt that it would cause this problem but anyways, problem sorted I guess. Cheers Ben.

Its Ausfield Extreme Synthetic, i think its a 5w50. Like I said, ive had no problems until now. And it wasnt doing it immediately after the oil change if you were thinking a bad batch of oil or something. The readings are off my defi guage which is also 8000kms old so no issue there. I will be contacting the builder later this week when im not working till 530, thought id get some opinions before then. Cheers for the help so far.

The oil is 500km old. Its the same oil ive been using in the engine since the rebuild, and havent had a problem until now. So I doubt the oil would have much to do with it? There is full pressure during free revving (car stationary) as stated above. If there was a problem with the oil im using id have low pressure all the time? Correct me if im wrong. Im thinking more towards this being a starvation problem.

Nah dont put a bend in it, theyll ruin the exhaust. Just get them to chop the flange off ur front pipe or cat and re-do it. A couple of degrees at the cat/frontpipe will give you plenty of clearance where the driveshaft is.

Hi everyone, got a small problem. On cruise, my oil pressure is usually around 800 KPa at bout 3grand, and now, when i boost it, not to the boards, jus high revs and about a bar, it gets to a point where it drops to 600 then 400 and I back off. This is bad and it never did it before, usually always stayed at 800. The oil is smack on H. When I free rev the engine, its stays at 800. So I overfilled by 0.75L, and its not dropping anymore when boosting, but this is just a bandaid fix. I dont believe there is anything wrong with the engine itself, ie bearings and oil pump etc, as the engine is 8000km old and built by the best. I do have a set of tomei baffles in the sump. Is it possible the rubber flaps have failed? But if they have, would it cause this? Just thinking from factory there are no flaps or gates etc. A crack in the oil pickup? I know im probably going to have to pull the sump off, just trying to get some insight first. Cheers, Mat.

Top cruise today guys. Big thanks to Wayne for the perfect organisation, you did a great job, like Al said it was done very well, mapping etc. The route was great, apart from a couple of stretches with terrible surfaces through the day, apparently i had sparks coming from underneath my car...(exhaust scraping the ground) I have to say the Bass street or whatever it was was the BEST run for the day, after stopping at the servo for a top up with the white 180, we pushed it and caught up just coming into Drouin, and with no traffic it was NUTS! Yeah a couple of cars running VERY rich...!

Well obviously you have something wrong with the pump, relay or circuit... When you turn the IGN on, does the ATESSA pump run? Its like the fuel pump but runs for much longer on first start until it builds pressure. If it doesnt, then check the fuse in the engine bay. If thats ok check that the relay in the boot is clicking when it should. I think its the LHS one under the back boot lining. To help, look near or underneath the d/s kick panel for a small white single wire plug. When the IGN is on and that is unplugged, that will make the pump run continuously. Check power to relay, check power to the pump. If theres power to the pump wires, the pump is gone. Search up the net, you should be able to find a pdf of the GTR service manual, it has ATESSA troubleshooting guides.

You should just ask Ben most of this stuff, as he is the tuner, he knows whats needed and what works best to make the power and achieve the driveability you want. I know this because i asked him all the same questions you are when I had my engine built. I asked about bigger/different afms as well, he said you dont need them, you can tune around it. After my tune Ben had my car running 326 on 17psi! ...2560-5 turbos. Stock cams, adj cam gears. He also told me d-jetros arent the best for street, you get better fuel efficiency with afms. D-jetros are better for big singles i rkn, with comp surge etc. Cam gears are a must, theyre just too cheap for the gains you get from them. Wheres Marcus? (Ronin09) Hes running a stock engine last time I spoke to him, i think with similar power you are chasing. -

The bigger the exhaust the better. But how quiet you can keep it is the toss up. Dont listen when everyone always says '3inch is enough'... It will do the job, but if you go bigger, the power can be made more easily, ie less boost and heat, more timing, generally better for the engine. Going from a 3-3.2" to a twin equivalent to 3.8" upped my boost 6psi and gave me an extra 20kw @ the wheels without changing anything else. Everyone runs a PFC cos theyre good, cheap, alot of people tune them. I recommend Ben 110% as well. I have one hiccup from it like once every few weeks. You just have to be unlucky for it to happen all the time. You would be really silly not to put cam gears in also. Get the standard cooler cleaned professionally. Maybe a Bosch 044 intank. 650ccs are doing fine with my 335kw. The last 2 on your list are heaps of work, like engine out heaps of work. But im sure youve read that. -

I been driving my car around since I was 18, was only ever pulled over twice, once for a random breatho and licence check, the other was at Monash carpark skylines meet, got defected and high powered and modified vehicle all at the same time. I think I did well considering, now i get my licence back in 2 days and ill be on full licence. It could be worth it, but you have to be lucky.
