  1. The covers were acid dipped then painted with oil/fuel resistant high temp paint. The car's stock apart from the plenum, fmic, exhaust and boost... 155 is pretty much spot on for those mods excluding the plenum. The plenum has much lower velocity than the standard plenum at lower volumes, and theoritcally should loose power over a standard manifold at low power.... it's when the new turbo goes on and it gets wound up we'll see some results!!!!! Doc.

    we use mineral oil for bedding in motors, apart from that it's usually fully synthetic
  4. RaseR - Small world I love FJ's they're quite an amazing motor.... The one i was chasing fell through so I'm sticking an SR20 in my Datto 1600!!! Look forward to seeing that FJ for some mods soon Doc.

  9. I was driving the car all day tuesday taking photos for the full feature coming up in fast fours.... it's fun, but a little laggy :wassup: mwahahaha.... Doc.
  10. I don't like tuning turbo's leaner than 0.82 on full boost, but NA cars are under less stress and can run well a little leaner.... I would think 0.9 would be a bit lean for good power, but basically tune the N/A's wherever they make best power between 0.82 and 0.88 Doc.
  11. Where did you get this and how much? we're having great difficulty sourcing the plug in harnesses for those who don't want chopped wires... Doc.

    OWS 5/50 is around $25 / lt I change my filter after 3k and oil and filter at 5k Doc.

    The reason BMT recommends OWS is purely based on results. OWS is a new company in OZ, based in germany. We underwent extensive testing on the dyno and on the track with a couple of cars before we would even cosider OWS. We were very pleased with the power gains and lower engine oil temps over most other oils. Certain other oils will make more power, eg Redline, but need to be changed more frequently. All factors aside, the main thing is use good fully synthetic oil, and change your filter & oil frequently... Doc.
  14. Just a suggestion, may help sell if you had dyno sheets or something similar? I know you said it's not heaps of power but would at least give an indication. Doc.
  15. Problem solved... broken wire on knock sensor plug at rear of inlet manifold... ALL GOOD

  17. BMT Sites out of date... Cam's are now 280 deg 12.5 mm lift Tomei cams... Turbo is a T51RSPL HKS Item... If you look closely at the rear tyres the wheel spin is obvious, and this is still running on low boost on the emergency backup motor, new motor getting fitted soon then 2.5 BAR!!!!! mmmmm Doc.   20. Mr VSPEC - I was actually referring to the TURBO, but yes bigger is better can also relate to the exhaust....
