  1. Please guys, hurry up with the payment, James will not be footing the bill. Please either deposit the money or drop off in person to BMT by the end off tomorrow.... Or you WILL miss out... PS: Ronin - Sorry I want large
  2. Luke, take a photo of inside the ecu, all you need to do is unscrew the top plate with 4 screws. If you hit it in second it may be air flow cut....
  3. 4500.... Good Luck.... I was thinking low-mid 5000
  4. Anyone needs to drop cash off at BMT please give it directly to me and I will pass it onto james.
  5. Goody buy, that manifold looks identical to GTSR manifold with a gate tapped in.... hmmmmmmm
  6. I'll sort ya out when ya pop down
  7. Luke, 53 won't come up in diagnostics, RB20 AFM can max out around 170 rwkw, does it happen more on colder nights ?? Open the ECU and post a photo.... Doc.
  8. I was actually refering to your speed.... If you can go past 190 km/h (some 180 speed cuts are a little off) then either your speed sensor wire #53 is not hooked up, or it's chipped.
  9. it was about 4 feet long and 2 in diamater.....
  10. Maximus - You obviously didn't see Leewah's HUGE FIREBALL at the MAS dyno... anyone got a pic??
  11. Could be maxing out the AFM and it flows more when you load it down in higher gears... how much boost are you running? If your hitting 230 ish that's way past the factory speed cut on the ECU and i would say that either, A: whoever installed the RB20 in your 180SX didn't hook up wire 53 (Speed sensor to ECU), or B: Your ECU's been chipped and the limiter removed (if this is the case it shouldn't air flow cut) Doc.
  12. sideway - I may slip with that sort of power if tuned on the dyno in fourth on a slow ramp rate. I've found it's extremely easy to tell if the clutch is slipping while tuning, and hopefully your tuner knows his stuff and if it starts slipping will back off. As far as the actual tuning process is concerened he should be able to map all the low load map points without any troubles whatsoever. If your clutch does slip badly while on the dyno the worst problems will be the smoke, the smell, and the possibility of over heating your flywheel and damaging it. I'm assuming your running a new flywheel with your twin plate so i wouldn't worry at all about it.... Let us all know if it holds up or slips Doc.
  13. Strutto - Thanks for the PM... Here Goes.... It appears that the automatic's wiring in nissans do in fact read the RPM signal from somwhere (haven't investigated where yet).... This signal going through some extra wiring to the auto control unit causes some minor electrical interference. This interference is picked up when trying to tune the e-manage. I assume this is due to the e-manage being more sensitive than the factory ECU. I am also assuming this is the same reason that neither FC's or FCONV's are available for automatics (maybe link's aren't either)?? My problem so far is that I have only tried tuning e-manage (not fitted by me) on one automatic car which was severly accident damaged by the owner a week after my initial attempt. The car has since been repaired but I think the owner is no longer looking for the extra power. I have had several suggestions on how to rectify this problem, ranging from resistors inline with certain wires going to the e-manage which have RPM based signals (CAS, IGN, INJ), and to also try and run shielded wiring for the emanage. All the other ECU's I've seen run shielded wiring right up to the ECU which the e-manage doesn't, so this would be the first place I would look. Skylineakt - As far as fuel tuning goes the E-Manage is excellent, and a much better option than an SAFC or similar.... Perhaps you would be interested in a discounted supply/install and allow us to research this problem further on your car? Worst case scenario is that you have more power with a perfectly tuned fuel curve... Best case scenario is that we will discover how to maximise the potential of the e-manage for all our skyline brethren the world over??? Doc.
