  1. Not trips planned to perth... Seatbelts still in car... I think benny said I could keep them? J/K PM me your address and I'll send em down.
  2. The retarded ignition up high will increase exhaust temps, may do damage if you sustain high rpm or track work as advised when you were here. I'd suggest changing before 6000rpm and you'll be safe, you've got plenty of midrange now, just wait till we get some better cooling and wind it up! As for the 34 SMIC I would suggest they'd be a lot better with ducting etc, but no difference on dyno to road as a lot of people suggested, I've got the larger fan available with the dyno, and this was directed directly as your smic. I'm pulling the HKS FMIC off tomorrow for you Sam.
  3. Drop me an e-mail, I'll give you few options... I modified mine to fit on a chinese T3 high mount ext gate manifold, but one of my suppliers also has Trust copy high mount manifolds, and can sort a few different gates etc etc..
  4. STD RB25 Tiny HKS FMIC STD Injectors @ 75psi base fuel pressure Z32 AFM TD06L2-20G Chinese Copy 261 rwkw @ 16 psi - Couldn't get any more fuel pressure into it New injectors are on the way, and no I wouldn't ever recommend that much fuel pressure to anyone!
  5. Joined the 4DR crew two weeks ago... did have an SR in it previously, bought as a bare shell and revived it with some RB Lovin! Put the car together in time for Drift Attack last weekend and had some fun! Quick Mods List RB25 Engine / Box NPC Twin Plate Nismo 1.5 Way TD06L2-20G (Copy) 261 rwkw @ 16 psi
  6. Got a pair here, $100, lenses are hazey and 'fogged', just removed from an S1 write off...
  7. Want to make a few changes, upgrade radiator and maybe some coilovers, and the gearbox is whining after the weekend... Will try and make next day at Basky! As for the L2, yes it's an EXACT copy... we've completely pulled the turbo apart and put it side by side with a genuine L2 and you CANNOT spot the difference... Response on the 25 is pretty stupid, and I haven't even hooked up the VCT!! More to be had Pulled the intake pipe off this aftenoon, and with over 1000km now on it (most of it HARD) there is absolutely no signs of wear at all! I'm negotiating direct with manafacturer to try and get these in a bit cheaper (dodgy exchange rate!) but I'm going to have to order min 10 pcs!
  8. The opportunity arose to pick up a 32 4dr ex-drifter stripped car the same time I bought a written off 33... so the maths added up. This happened on the 9th October... The decision was made to attend drift attack at winton only 9 days later... Lack of sleep and some hard work resulted in the mods list and photos below... Engine: RB25DET Series 2 - Currently 261 rwkw @ 16 psi! Stereo Audio / Visual: N/A Estimated Power: 261 rwkw @ 16 psi Day 1: Clean engine bay, remove S13 crossmember, fit R33 crossmember, nismo mounts, dummy fit engine, remove old crap etc.... Day 2: Dummy fitted turbo kit, fitted HKS front mount and made 1/2 cooler piping, remove engine, extract replace 4 broken exhaust manifold studs, block off water lines for oil only turbo, fit clutch to engine, fit engine & box, rapt to find that R33 Gearbox crossmember bolts straight onto RB25 box in R32! Also rapt to find that simply swapping the R33 front yoke of tailshaft straight onto R32 tailshaft will bolt straight up! DAY 3: Custom wiring loom finished, oil feed for turbo, custom tailshaft completed, oils & filters, plugs changed, just need fuel lines and oil drain and she's running! Quiet day on the 32 today, had 4 cars to tune, then went down the beach for a few cans! will have some more progress tomorrow, then exhaust and finish cooler piping monday, hopin to have all finished by wed. Day 4: Cooler piping finished using random offcuts and scrap, only need to purchase 1 piece of silicon Oil feed & Drain fitted to turbo Wiring loom tidied up and partially hidden / relocated Fitted 1.5 way Nismo LSD and shafts Fitted Custom Tailshaft Fitted 50mm screamer pipe - Venting of course smile.gif Relocated AFM to cooler pipe Day 5: Exhaust done, snapped drive shaft testing twin plate sad.gif Ok... so the TD06 works ok. 230 rwkw @ 12 psi (minimum boost) only revving to 6400 rpm as the standard injectors (cranked pressure through fuel reg) and standard afm.... Gate sounds great lol... Tomorrow - Z32 AFM, more pressure (budget - might buy injectors later), wheel alignment, seat belts, wash it.... Day 6: More wiring done, OMP Bucket and Willans harness fitted, wheels/tires fitted, wheel allignment done... As far as the power goes it's now difficult to estimate, with the rear work wheels we could only get 3.5deg neg, which makes traction difficult... Fitted a new Z32 air flow meter, turbotech boost controller, set boost to 16 psi and gave it a quick retune... More fuel was needed, a lot more, so now the base fuel pressure is 70psi! (Not recommended - don't try this at home!) Also decided a vernier cam gear may be a good idea to dial in some response... Only problem is that with the camber on the back, four straps, and the tires were still PEELING off at 254 rwkw... PLANS: Primal Garage - Flare the Flared rear guards more, redo wheel allignment with less neg camber (I Hope) and fit the 255 Federal 595 RS to the back and see if we can get a decent power figure for the weekend... Day 7: General tidy up, wash car, flare, flare, flare guards... redo wheel allign with 0 camber on rear mmm traction... Dyno 261 rwkw @ 16 psi Overall impression so far - I LOVE THE WAY THIS CAR DRIVES!!!!
  9. Drop me an e-mail see what we can work out... I'll be up there soon too
  10. R32 RB20DET = 270cc Injectors R33 RB25DET = 370cc Injectors Wire up the consult port if it isn't already, do a diagnostic using datascan or similar, eliminate any fault codes, get a tune...
  11. I'd put money on big end bearing failure... don't drive the car you may do more damage to the crank or worse...
  12. I've got a few RB25 looms here that I can have pre-wired as plug in looms for an RB25 into an R32, Geoff from Balistic Customs is really doing some good work in the import scene up there... Sort out the factory loom and fit a power FC if you can find a reasonably priced one. As for the remaps, Peckys has Nistune which can work with the remapped RB25 ECU with great results... On the other hand if you completely trust Daves (I think that's who you're referring too?) work, and feel a new custom loom with Microtech will work for you, then ask him to show you another RB running standalone Microtech, and see how the cold starts and drivability are... If you're happy with an example of his work, and he guarantees he can replicate it with a microtech in your car then that may be a good option. Also remember other costs with sorting it out, eg: you'll need a Z32 AFM upgrade for either a remap or PFC which will add to the expense, and if you want a hand controller with the microtech that'll be extra.. just my 2c Sam.
  13. Same, would be good to catch up
  14. We've got a source for the boards like in your old ECU, eprom conversion! So no more H8 $$ every time you tune just pay for dyno time... Also works well with Nistune, and if you buy a moates emulator and fit that, then you have usb real time tuning which any tuner should be able to tune easily as the Nistune software is in plain english Is Nistune specifically avail for the 33 yet without use of eprom board and moates emulator? Hmm... maybe have to speak more with Matt??
  15. No surprise there.. Software was almost identical to the old G3...
  16. lol... I am in bed! Can do a fair few earlier Bosch ECUs as most of them are eprom based, and I'm certain theres options for flash tuning through the diag port on newer ones... Sleep is such a dreadful waste of time
  17. Drew - Noting from your other posts you have an R33 and I got the impression intent on modifying it further - The only downside is your ecu is not real time tunable... and no one without removing your ecu and making it real time tunable, or using a real time tunable ecu for tuning and then burn the final image back to a single burn cpu chip (which is an expensive no longer produced and relying on old stock product) back into your ecu, can tune it in real time. Bang for your buck if your not doing any further mods Toshi is your man.
  18. Changeover ECU which has been modified with the addition of a CPU to EPROM conversion board which enables the ecu to be tuned by anyone with basic rom tuning skills and has no additional 'chip replacement fee' associated with the single burn cpu replacement method. The EPROM also stores the data in an easy to use format and is not encoded in any way. Have also just finished sorting out dual map upgrades, so you can have a valet mode or race fuel or nitrous or whatever map as well as your daily driver map at the flick of a switch. E-Mail me if you need more info. Sam
  19. James, I look forward to your call, always eager to learn, listen, and hopefully share, my phone is always on. Please feel comfortable calling anytime before 1am, sleep is a dreadful waste of time! Sam.
  20. Cheers if you do want to go ahead with it please let me know and perhaps put a deposit on an ECU - I'm selling them very near cost, so at $1000 a pop I can't afford to keep many on the shelf, and they go like hot cakes. Last time I ordered 15 and 12 were presold.. With EFI cars yes you will need a fuel pump. For 200 rwkw I would suggest upgrading it, they are reknown for loosing pressure under boost... Spot on, but I don't think it's to do with the age, even late 98 series 3s start loosing pressure around 200rwkw. The walbro pumps are a great economical upgrade, very difficult to pick non genuine. Good for mid to high 200rwkws, anything over 300rwkw I'd personally go the Sard 280lt/hr intank or ideally (for track not so ideal for street) external surge tank/pump setup. Clean Undies? Nah j/k should be pretty much on the money there... getting close to reliable limits on std turbo though.
  21. James, Just wondering if what emulator you are using? Both Bikirom, and myself with NRE have been using the MultiRom16L for several years now on R34s with real time tuning using full map tracing, live map editing, 3D map displays etc etc... I would be very interested in speaking to you regarding the particular boards and data storage with you if you are interested? I'm assuming you're still using the factory option on the R34 of the 80pin ribbon cable with the external maps being selected by moving the 0ohm resistors on the main board? Also, very interested in other vehicle applications you may have available? V35? Z33? etc... Regards, Sam 0425 818 755
