  5. wow massive QLD result. Top 3 regular TimeAttack QLD drivers! Great result for Mark Rayner to pip Cam Dyal. ! last time I spoke to Russ at TimeAttack, they was hoping to take the R33GTR? Not sure if that result is the R33 or R32 (I doubt R32) R32 GTR is in someone else's hands but the car lives in brissie still. killed a gearbox the saturday before timeattack at qr i think??? thats what i heard down the grapevine?

  7. From a spectator's point, it appears to me, the user in question purchased an appropriately specified clutch that re-used a standard pressure plate that is not anti-burst... It exploded while being used within the constraints of normal use for such clutch. Nothing wrong with him reporting on the internet what happened in his specific case, and his opinion of the product through his specific dealings. I don't see how this is a problem for SAU... tbh, I'm more suprised someone of the manufacture's stature in the industry would stick his head in the sand over ths issue...
  8. yep mate, mine is an rb26 still. like I say, 'only' 290-300kw atw. Shows you can be quick at the circuit without 350-400kw GTR. But given mine really doesnt see too much road duties at all these days, I thought why not go for some more ponies.... Hopefully see you back out there in the new year, more than happy to show you how the GT35 goes at the first Timeattack day of the year... (Hopefully goood lol)
  9. you had probs with the 6boost manifold? the collector style one? Wastegate mounted nice and short for good control? What wastegate and spring did you run and what level of boost did you try and acheive? just interested....

If you have a car with cf doors, boot, lexan windows, brake bias, pedal boxes, you need an invite into pro if you are quick enough... looking forward to here some clarification on some of these issues. The FIA approved and in date seat thing seems far to much of an overkill for me too...
  11. Well my Rb26 is just getting some finishing touches to having a GT35 fitted, and the car is 90% used at QR, so you can always come out for a passenger ride... (I'm going from an apexi single turbo that is actually smaller than the GT30. We make 300kw and its massively responsive. It has been fantastic at QR, so will see what the more laggier GT35 will be like, but of course we'll make an extra 50awkw...+)
  12. interestingly enough I have seen 999 (only does 3 digits) degrees exhaust temps (probe mounted in dump pipe v close to ex turbine)

  15. If your goal is 480 HP atw, don't oversize. You don't need a T04Z for that. Go a GT35.... Why have a bigger turbo than you need for your goal...
  16. just a note. I purchased 4x 18" 265x35 Re55s recently from Donnellan's in VIC and had them shipped to Brisbane $77each cheaper than the price quoted by Amec... Make sure you check a couple of prices before buying semis... Michael
  17. Any of the organisers care to clarify why the Open and Pro class rules are so similar? What is to stop me, being a complete unknown, building a monster car, with lexan windows, cf doors, bumpers, boot, pedal box, workshop sponsorship and not getting a special invite to race in Pro Class as no=one knows Jack Black, subsequently I then race in Open Class and running 1:12s and demolish the field. (a little extreme) You should make the rules based on some form of mechanical as someone will rock up in say the ex Russ n Mark R32 GTR and demolish the field when it should really be in Open Class??? Some great rules stolen from QLD's Timeattack worth considering for Open Class to differentiate it between Pro Class... Must have a rear exiting exhaust system with a muffler. Must have OEM glass. Must have OEM doors. Must have both front seats (aftermarket allowed) Must not have in cabin adjustable brake bias / pedal box. That way the 3x classes really would differ and be a step up... Care to clarify? On another note, if you do have a roll cage in open class (not required), and is bolt in from Japan, must it still be CAMS approved?   19. fantastic. I think I'll make the trip from QLD this year. I vote for a Superlap warm-up day the day before on the Saturday or at least the Friday.... Never been on Oran Park, and some practise wouldnt go astray!!! Also a little worried about some of the rules... looking forward to seeing some evolution there... Cheers Michael
