wow, didnt realise irace came to QLD! Always thought it was just nsw. 3x QLD rounds!
Awesome. I am defo keen
ps good to see your GTR goin well, had a look over it in Marks workshop and was impressed.
On the old apexi, it was silly responsive. Was great. Max power it could make was 290 - 295 kw no matter how much boost you threw at it. That's all it has. But I could run mid-high 57 secs around QLD Raceway Sprint circuit and I'm lacking in the talent department !
GT35R isnt quite as responsive but I would be confident its hitting fulboost sub 4000rpm...
I'm a fan of small / medium single turbo. No need to go too big.
in regards to the single, I used to run an Apexi IHI RX-6 TCW77P25 F1 and now run a GT35R witha .8 rear
No lag problems on circuit, very responsive.
Just dont be silly and chase KW and get a clunky T04Z and the like...
Michael
I remember the testing last time tho! It ran 8s & 7s sideways while they dialed in the setup !!!
Still wet this morning, should dry up during the day, but not too confident!!!
Mick
Dunno who that is aimed at? Not many have actually posted an opinion. A few have merely stated what they are trying...
I'm looking forward to trialling some other tire options myself to make my own mind up. First stop porka cup tires for sure!
If we had a proper Timeattack event here in QLD I would stay on the semis for that. I will continue to use RE55s or whatver I can get my hands on seems they have dissapeared but plan on moving to slicks for a little bit of circuit racing in the Top Gear racing series at QR...
beat me to it, but that's exactly what I will be trying on my R32 GTR soon. Used Porsche Cup tires. The porka rears should go well on a GTR.
Cheap as chips!
Mick
I dunno about that.
I once had a car that genuinley made 400kw atw but had shite power delivery and a shite power band and only ran 126mph also.
On another note supporting your case I've also ran 126mph in my current GTR when it had 295kw.
just my 2c as I hate the ol, your car can't be making that power comments...
