  1. For you James - Free!
  2. Well, sort of... It starts and drives but its very cranky, definitely needs a new tune. Not a real Z?? - The Z31 300zx is a true retro cool cruiser mate, there is nothing quite like cruising on a sunny day with the targa roof off... And it didnt break down - it failed its rego inspection Everything is for sale for the right price...
  3. If you have the same size wheels all round then I would recommend satying with the same size tyres all round, the reason is so that you can rotate from front to rear for longer life as the rears will normally wear quicker on a rear wheel drive car (unless your alignment is out). Depending on what you want out of the tyres, most manufacturers will say that you can safely fit anywhere from 225/45R17 to 255/40R17 on an 8" wide wheel (although this can vary between brands). Personally I would recommend staying with 235/45R17 all round.
  4. Ok so its taken a lot longer than I thought it would (due to money shortages and the daily driver failing me) but my cam gears turned up yesterday and the new Z32 AFM should be here today or tomorrow (if Paul comes through for me)... This all means that Wednesday next week will be the moment of truth (dyno tune - finally). Yay!
  5. The bracket comes attached to the cable (as far as I know), I dont think that there is any way to get it off... You will probably have to buy a new cable (from Nissan - meaning $$$$). Otherwise, just make up a bracket yourself to suit out of sheet steel or alloy, drill some holes in it, paint it black and Bob's your uncle.
  6. This is the most useful and comprehensive guide for Skyline engine mods on the web (that I have found at least). Great stuff R31Nismoid - Thanks!
  7. 7:25pm Erindale drive north bound tonight... I was passed by a maroon R32 GTST with GT wing mounts on the boot (minus the wing) and VOLK CF-Zero wheels - Whoever this was, was following a silver/grey R33 GTST with a low drag style wing... We wonder why Skyline drivers have a bad image and get so much attention from the cops... Well these drivers are part of the reason. I realise that we have all had our indiscretions and done stupid things in the past but... Speeding, cutting other drivers off, changing lanes without indicating - whoever you are (and I am sure that you are on these forums) grow up and stop giving the rest of us a bad name.
  8. Youre a very strange man... But at the same time Im strangely aroused
  9. I think this thread should be re-named "the sociopathic soap box thread"... While I agree with some of the things said, I dont think that the world is such a terrible place for us. Spare a thought for the people suffering under corrupt governments in Nairobi (murder capital of the world), spare a thought for the people suffering from war in Iraq, Afghanistan, the Gaza strip etc. We have it pretty good in Canberra, Australia. P.S. I hope the Supra turns up unscathed.
  10. I reckon you should sell the wheels you have and get some wider ones 17x8 with 225/45R17 front and 17X9 with 255/40R17 rear if you want maximum performance from your tyres... Not to mention that wider wheels and tyres look alot better aswell.
  11. Awww... You guys are so tyresome
  12. You have pretty much answered your own question... On a 17x7 you shouldnt go any bigger than 225/45R17 in any tyre brand. Toyo's are a great tyre but they tend to be pretty pricey, there are plenty of brands out there to consider... Shop around.
  13. Yep, just send an e-mail to that address asking for more information on the position and they will get back to you.
  14. It is good... I have been here for almost 3 years and I wont be looking at changing jobs any time soon. No fitting of tyres, it is a wholesale sales position. I cant really disclose any more information than I already have, if you are genuinely interested and are looking for more info on the position send an e-mail to the address at the bottom of the attached advertisement.
  15. Yes Shell, they would have to work with me... What's wrong with that?
  16. If you feel like relocating to Canberra we should talk
  17. As most people here know, I work for National Tyre Wholesalers, we are an Australian importer/distributor for a number of popular tyre brands. We have an opportunity now for the right person to join our team in the sales department located in Canberra. This opportunity doesn’t come around all that often as NTW is a great place to work with great people and people like to stay for quite a while. There are opportunities to travel, attend motorsports events and be a part of a business committed to customer excellence. National Tyre Wholesalers is a very well established company for over 52 years, with a large diverse customer base, very loyal staff and a solid focus on providing the best customer service and quality products to the tyre and automotive trade. Our preference is someone with tyre and automotive industry knowledge and/or experience, but it is not essential as in-house training will be provided. You would also need to reside within ACT or Queanbeyan, as this is a full-time position. If you consider yourself a motivated person who will excel when taken on by a company that will help you to improve your skills please see the add attached and forward your applications on to us via e-mail or post to - The Manager, Po Box 172 Fyshwick ACT 2609. Regards, Mick Hart National Tyre Wholesalers.
  18. Hey Jayce, I hear that K.Rudd is handing out $900.00 bonuses (just got mine this morning), maybe that will help get the GTR back on the road?
  19. I know exactly what you mean Scooby and it isnt actually legal... I know first hand because my brother was fined for doing it. Apparently the Police officer said that if they can prove that you did it deliberately its the same fine as you would get for turning left from the right lane at a regular intersection. P.S. I also get p_ssed off with idiots who do this.
  20. Talk to Ray Spence at Canberra Motorworks in Mitchell
  21. I'm sorry to say this, but you dont have the choice of the 595's in 225/50R16 because they arent made in that size.
  22. You either have very big balls or you dont realise that saying that wont earn you any brownie points here, seeing as there are quite a few Skyliners on these forums that take part in both of those past times (cycling and motorbike riding)... Now to sit back and wait for the fire works
  23. I'm not trying to pick on you Mick but it doesnt matter if the seats are ADR approved or not... All that means is that the seat itself is considered safe to use on Australian roads. Even if you get pre-fabricated aftermarket rails that bolt directly on to the car and seats, you still have to be able to produce an engineers certificate for aftermarket seats. The reason for this is that if you have a crash, whether its a big front, side or rear ender or even a small shunt/nudge, if your seats are not 100% correctly installed you can easily suffer severe, permanent back and neck injuries that will haunt you for the rest of your life. I have a close friend who is a certified seat belt, restraining bolt and seat fitter who has told me the horror stories of people who have cut corners in these situations and believe me when I say - I got chills down my spine listening to them. Do it once, do it right - For your own safety.
