    Be careful when adapting aftermarket seats to standard rails. If you dont have a certified automotive installer (someone who has been trained in fitting baby seat bolts, seat belts etc) make up the brackets for you, not only are you risking your own safety but your car can be defected... You must be able to produce an engineers certificate for the install for it to be legal.

    I havent been in this thread for a while, sorry for the late reply... They arent bad in the wet, certainly not dangerous. In the latest Motor magazine tyre test they rated best in wet braking. I have never had any surprises in the wet and I use them as a daily driven tyre on my R32.

    Your mate might be referring to an amendment in the laws regarding modifying cars, the RTA and Police are constantly looking for ways to add new guidelines (amendments) to existing laws which govern what modifications are legal or not. I cant see how or why they would be able to justify making all previous engineering certificates invalid, that would surely go against the fair trading act.

    Take the 'modplate' to Ray Spence at Canberra Motorworks and ask him if it is enough, if its not he will look after an ACT certificate for you.
