Where To Get An Exhaust For A R33 Gtst In Canberra?
Bullet32 replied to SKY33T's topic in Australian Capital Territory
Unless there is some sort of special race only system that they make, I am pretty sure that MOTEC only make electronics. -
Already done Paul Thanks. (I love it when we get a chance to pay Steve out about that night) My thoughts exactly!! Yeah, sorry about that... I havent been near a computer for 2 weeks and I forgot
-
You would know all about that after Autosalon 2007 wouldnt you Steve
-
Im hoping to have it running in the next 2 weeks, but it wont be driving on the road until its tuned and I have had a few other "goodies" installed It should all be finished by the end of this month... Fingers crossed
-
Oh yeah, and a HUUUUGE thanks to James (DriftGTS) for his help installing the (farkin heavy) gearbox!

Update: Parts have arrived and I have spent quite a few days in the garage putting them all in I love reading this on the side of the box (usually means there is something nice and shiny inside). Mmmm Trust front pipe... And split dump. Exedy Hyper single ceramic button... (flywheel machined too). Genuine Nissan water pump (had too many problems in the past with inferior water pumps). Gearbox and tailshaft ready to go back in... (Note the "custom" crossmember). Front of the motor - Naked! New water pump installed. Wastegate actuator mount and connector pin had to be modified to get them into the right position. All parts now installed, the next step is to make up a custom intake pipe for the turbo, replace all oils and fluids and then a dyno tune! More pics to come (sorry Michele, still no Frangipani stickers) Stay tuned.

Spark plugs can contribute to pinging or knocking, if you have the wrong heat range plugs they can increase the your chances of detonation - especially if you have a bad batch of fuel or the engine is running hot.

Where To Get An Exhaust For A R33 Gtst In Canberra?
Bullet32 replied to SKY33T's topic in Australian Capital Territory
IMO Easily the best system for Skylines at the moment is the Trust Power Extreme II, which can be ordered through Trojan, ESP or on the net... Not cheap but you wont be disapointed. -
Just went past Hardly Normal in Fyshwick and saw Gus' car... What are you doing there Gus (traitor)? Also spotted Zane (ZCR) on Newcastle street, your car looks tough with the grey wheels and wing removed

I get asked this question all the time 1. Join the NSW club and reap the benifits of the special club member discount. 2. If you cant join the club (or dont want to) use the "Dealer Locator" function on the www.federaltyres.com.au website. There are many dealers in the Sydney and surrounding area and they should all be listed in the dealer locator function on the website.

Ok Kat, I called my contact for Sparco parts (not wheels unfortunately) and he said that these wheels arent imported anymore as they dont sell enough units. The Sparco motorsports parts importer is Unique Autosports - (02) 9620 9000, Im told that the centre caps that youre after will most likely have to be ordered from Italy so expect to pay big $$$ for them. Thats the best I have, sorry

R32 Gtst Understeer
Bullet32 replied to NZM.031's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Going to a lower profile tyre in the same width will probably increase the understeer, stick with the original size but get a better quality tyre with a grippier tread pattern/compound and a stronger casing. The cheapest and easiest way to reduce understeer would probably be to get adjustable caster / camber arms and set it up for cornering. -
Hey Kat, What size, width and offset are the wheels... I may know someone who can get the caps brand new.
-
I'm assuming that includes a clutch? If so, what kind?
-
It looks like a good show but... What incentive is there to drive over 2500km round trip (over $200 in fuel for most of us) for a one day car show when we have Autosalon and Summernats either in our backyard or only 250km away? DSTROY - There are 3 R35's getting around Canberra already.
-
Thanks for clearing that up Paul My offer still stands, if you need new tyres come and see me and I will look after you

Whoa dude you need a hobbie Makes you think though, Leech hasnt been on here for at least a year, Veilside hasnt posted for ages and neither have Terminal or skyGTRline...

Hicas Light On + Heavy Steering
Bullet32 replied to GTST R33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Sounds like your HICAS pump is on its way out... The steering gets heavier and the light comes on when the secondary pump isnt working. Mine had the same problem for a while, just buy and fit a lock out kit and pull out the entire HICAS system (or pay someone who knows how to do it). -
Im not sure that we are getting the whole story here Paul, Im assuming that youre saying that your car was repaired by a certain smash repairer before you went to get new tyres and you didnt check that their work was up to scratch until now...? You have only recently noticed that the suspension isnt right and your first thought was that the tyre shop was to blame? It may be worth your while to get an independant party (someone who doesnt know you or have any affiliation to you) to check on all of the repairs performed by the smash repairer and put down in writing all work that wasnt completed properly before taking any legal action towards either shop. Please correct me if I am wrong.
-
Trojan would probably be the number one choice, ESP (Extreme Street Performance) also specialise in Japanese imports and do a really good job and there is also Autotech in Hume.
-
Paul - If in the end you dont get a good result, come and see me and I will look after you with a really good deal on new tyres.
-
Even though you may be in the right here and the particular tyre shop that you are referring to may be in the wrong, you are going to have an uphill battle getting any compensation or free repairs done to your car... You need to ask yourself these questions before taking action: 1. Do you have written proof that you asked for a wheel alignment when you enterred the store and dropped off the car? 2. Do you have written or photographic proof that your suspension wasnt damaged before you had the new tyres fitted? 3. Are you able to get a written assessment from your suspension specialist stating that the suspension was damaged due to not getting the alignment done? (This may be particularly hard as most business people wont want to put anything in writing to avoid getting incolved in legal proceedings). 4. Is it worth the long and possibly expensive court battle for the mostly minor cost of getting the car repaired yourself? I have been working in the Automotive trade/wholesale industry for over 9 years now and I know that when people threaten workshops or retailers with consumer affairs it usually means next to nothing as CA dont really have very much power to do anything without solid proof that the shop was blatently negligent in their work. I also know quite well the people you are intending on taking on (as I deal with them almost everyday) and I personally wouldnt advise the course of action you are suggesting. Please dont think that I am suggesting you are wrong in any way... I am only trying to put another objective view on the situation. What ever you decide to do... Good luck.

$4000.00?? - Thats cheap, what kind of condition is it in?
-
It sounds like a pain in ass to register a car in NSW... In the ACT we just pay one lump sum every year that includes rego and CTP and we dont have compulsary inspections either, once the car has passed its first inspection as long as you dont get defected and you dont let the rego run out for more than 12 months you dont ever have to have it inspected again. I guess we have a pretty good deal going down here
