  1. It looks quite straight and with a bit of TLC it could be very nice... The price is right too. Beware of Ebay cars though, make sure you arrange to see it in person before you commit any cash.
  2. Very well put, I couldnt agree more... Take your time and do it right (also make sure that you keep us all informed).
  3. Ok back on topic, what ticks me off is F_cking kids on school holidays with nothing better to do that run around egging houses!!! Last night I spent half an hour washing 3 eggs off the back of my house and when I went looking for the little sh_ts I managed to catch them in the act but one had his 'P's and they took off in a POS Ford Laser before I could bash their skulls in!! I called the cops and lodged a report and all they said was "we'll keep an eye out for the car, call us back if it happens again"... I used to like living in my suburb but now its full of little 16 - 17 year old f_ckwits!!
  4. They arent the strongest RB engine but overall that doesnt mean they're weak. RB20 and 26 can usually put up with more punishment though.
  5. Im expecting the 30/76 to reach full boost (20psi) at around 4000 - 4500rpm, it should start building boost from around 2200 - 2500 though. Im not 100% sure though, your best off asking someone who uses a GT30/76 already.
  6. Fair enough but I think that a better option would be an HKS GT28/35 Pro S - Extremely responsive turbo but big enough for real power gains.
  7. Gus - Sorry mate but Im preoccupied with fixing my own car at the moment, I wont have time to concentrate on doing another R32 RB25 conversion for a while. Stinkypoo - I have an RB25 that has been pushing 240rwkw for almost 3 years and it hasnt popped yet... Im planning on getting even more power out of it. Reliability depends heavily on how high quality the parts you use are and how good your tune is.
  8. Correct - Its internal but I plan on running about 20psi from the turbo (17 - 18psi at the manifold). 2510? Thats a bit small for an RB20 isnt it?
  9. I saw this Z at the SEMA show this year... It had ALL of its panels made out of carbon, even the roof, rear guards and door frames were carbon... The dash and floor were too. I thought of you when I was drooling over it Jayce
  10. There are quite often rolling shells available on these forums, the price depends on the condition... If you got another R33 Gtst shell it would be easy to drop your engine and driveline in it yourseld (as long as you had someone who knows Skylines to help). R31 club - www.r31skylineclub.com
  11. Hot Screw you James...
  12. Im guessing that youre not really happy with Twoogle at the moment Paul?
  13. I knew that was coming... I hate you.
  14. I have a logitec force feedback steering wheel with H pattern shifter and pedals that is compatible with PS3, I use it with GT5 prologue and its AWESOME!! I reckon we hook it up at Michele's place on the projector and have time attack races!! HELL YEAH!!
  15. +1 Mid life Crisis There's no need to be so hard on the guy, he's obviously a bit upset and unhappy about having his car smashed, it could have happened to anyone. How about not criticising and maybe try to help the guy? An RB25DET with low k's a good condition gearbox, turbo, ECU etc. will usually go for about 5 - 6k depending on demand... To give you an idea: an R33 Gtst gearbox in good cond. can fetch 2 - 2.5k on its own. However I would be looking into getting a good cond. rolling shell R33 or R32 Gtst and transplanting your motor drivetrain into it.
  16. I popped my turbo that day... Didnt you pop your motor?
  17. Certainly can Chris, when its all finished and tuned Im hoping to make 250 - 260rwkw I dont want to push the engine to hard (standard internals). Mini Twoogle?
  18. I bolted the new turbo up to the manifold last night... Its a very snug fit! I may need to install an engine damper to reduce engine movement because the wastegate actuator is VERY close to the strut tower! This is a comparison between the old GT30/71 and the new 30/76 (its definitely bigger!). Some more photos of the new turbo
  19. For those of you who know me I thought that I would start a little thread on the "re-build" of the Silver R32 Gtst that we know and love (well I know I do)... As you may know, my R32 has been around for a while (since selling my R31) and has gradually undergone just about every bolt on enhancement that you can get... But it all came to a sticky end on June 21st of this year when we went to Wakefield Park. I somehow managed to pop a less than 2 year old Garrett GT30/71R turbo, break an Xtreme clutches ceramic button clutch, badly damage the flywheel and destroy the water pump all in one lap!! (It must have been Reece's fault cos he was riding shotgun when it happened). Anywho... I have a new Exedy clutch, machined flywheel, genuine Nissan water pump and best of all a brand new Garret GT30/76R turbo!! For your enjoyment I will be adding updates as the rebuild progresses Cheers Mick
  20. It was great to catch up with Doof and the boys, well done on the quality of the cars and display guys, it really looked proffesional (especially the fake wood floor)... Also sorry if I ditched you on Saturday night I cant help being so popular, everybody wants a bit of Mick Cheers! Mick
  21. Judging by how personal this debate is getting I would say that its about time this thread was closed.
  22. That may be true Gus but their equipment cant be 100% acurate 100% of the time... I seem to remember that the NSW government had to reimburse over 3000 fines this year due to faulty cameras.
  23. I think that comment was unnecesary. The fact of the matter is that there are sizes in each brand that have recommended rim width fitments, each brand's recommendations vary as there are a huge amount of different casing, sidewall and tread constructions in the industry. Most manufacturers do not recommend fitting a 265 wide tyre to an 8" rim as it may be too wide and you can risk sidewall and bead damage from the extra stress of stretching the wall too far inwards. Almost all manufacturers also do not recommend fitting 215 wide tyres on to a 9" rim as it is too narrow, can damage the sidewall and you risk pulling the tyre off the rim when it is under load (cornering).
  24. Insurance? To sell hotdogs? Just incase someone gets food poisoning?
