  1. Yes you should be able to see the water and it should be green (most coolant is green). The mixture of coolant and water is very important, the coolant is a corrosion inhibitor (helps to reduce rust) and is also the reason that your "water" doesnt boil as it has a higher boiling point than normal water. I would get some coolant into it ASAP...
  2. I use the 595RS every now and then for the street but mainly for the track, there are also a LOT of members using the RS for hillclimb and track events in the ACT forum, you should ask around in there. Basically the 595 is a street tyre and not really meant for track use, however it will give you a bit of fun for a while, just dont expect to put down your best times. 595's are excellent for drift though, we have had multiple drifters tell us that they are one of the best tyres to drift on. 595RS is 2 steps up from the 595 in regards to track use, the RS has a much softer tread compound and has a much stiffer tread face due to a "low void ratio", this makes for a better footprint on the road while under hard braking, cornering, acceleration. The RS is much much better for dry traction than the 595 but is a bit of a compromise in the wet (as any semi-slick is), if youre planning on using the RS as a street tyre you probably wont get the most out of them though (even though they have heaps of grip) as they work the best when they're hot (about 60 - 70 degrees). Have a look at - www.federaltyres.com.au, www.federaltire.com.tw or www.federaltire.com for more info. I hope that helps
  3. Im in if there's any chance of getting R32 Gtst ones made...
  4. I use the Super Street's in my R32, I have had them in now for about 18 months and havent had an issue, they're perfect for ride comfort (my car is a daily driver) as long as you dial the stiffness down a bit, but they give really good response and handling too. I have used them for track events aswell and as long as you dial up the stiffness they're really good, they're not the best track suspension but they are meant to be used on the street aswell so they're a great compromise. I cant fault them.
  5. Big hands up from me!
  6. I have to admit that I took that image from the SAU Autosalon shirts that we had made last year, but I think it works.
  7. You asked for simple....
  8. LOL, Thats a laugh... And SOOO true.
  9. "You get what you pay for" - That is the general impression that everyone has, but it only applies to a certain extent... I know of tyres that I have paid big money for (not using brand names as it will just look like Im bagging another product) that have not provided anywhere near the kind of performance that I wanted, then gone on to other tyes (such as Federal's) that have proven to provide more dry traction, wet control, mileage and comfort than the bigger brands at a much more reasonable price. I understand that there are some very inexpensive brands flooding the market these days and it pays to do some research and ask around about what people use and like - that is why this thread is a great idea. In a certain way you DO get what you pay for, but at the other end of the scale you can spend WAY to much on tyres that will only do what some mid market "cheaper" tyres will also do. Its a matter of opinion.
  10. I need to know solid info: dimensions, what everyone likes / dislikes about this one, what colours should be used, whether we need a more up to date photo, what background etc... Its all good to have a thread about a banner but who is going to design it? Should we have a competition and all vote on our favourite? - Otherwise we're never going to agree.
  11. Haha GO THE CHOOK COOKERS!!
  12. I dont see the avatar picture in those ones!
  13. My stock turbo started making a squealing noise on boost and when I took it off to replace it there were small chunks missing from the compressor fan fins. Im pretty sure that if youre getting a loud squeal it does mean that the turbo is on its way out... Not sure about HKS ones though.
  14. Car? What car?
  15. Hey Andrew, Sad to see the Purple People Eater go, its been around for SO long! PS. Just post up the full sized version of your avatar pic.
  16. NOT THE KIA!!! Oh why would you do that to such a beautiful car!!?? Sorry Andrew I had to do that, not good what happened... I hope it turns up.
  17. Im not sure what you mean by a comletely balck background, I think that we need to have a Canberra "Skyline" picture in the background or it will look boring. Anyway I had another quick go at it.
  18. Dont worry about the beers mate, youre welcome to use the BOV as long as you bring it back.
  19. Yes Federal is a Taiwanese tyre, I think that he means that Federal is supported locally by a National Wholesaler who takes a very face to face aproach when dealing with advice, warranty, tech tips, specialist info etc. Federal have one of the best after sales support teams in Australia out of any tyre company... I can guarantee that. I think that the price of any tyre really depends on the dealer that you go to so shop around - that said, the Federal brand is positioned in the market as a high performance tyre that actually works for the right price, there are a lot of "cheap" tyres out there and when you buy them, thats exactly what you get... A cheap tyre.
  20. This sounds expensive... What are we looking at each for the day if we can only get about 15 - 20 cars maximum?
  21. That is an import... The Aus delivered R32's were brought in through Nissan Australia in the early 90's for sale through Nissan dealers. Im pretty sure that because yours is a Jap import then you have aftermarket side indicators aswell.
  22. Youre in luck, we have one of the best body kit specialist shops in the country here... J Racing!
  23. There was someone on these forums that was selling HICAS lock out / removal kits, not just lock bars - the whole kit to remove the HICAS... I cant remember who it was though... Does anyone know?
  24. You shall now be known as Michele the Hijacker!
  25. Yours is Aus delivered thought isnt it?
