  1. I'll tell you what, you guys organise time and place and I'll tell you whether I can make it or not. Bring any cleaning products that you want and I'll make sure that I tell you if its worth using or not, dont forget a chamois and rags. Remember that a wash isnt a wash if it doesnt end with a good chamoising! You wont need power / electricity unless someone needs their car machine buffed (and Im not doing that because it takes hours). Remember that everyone will need to wash their cars to begin with so we'll have to meet up somewhere and then head off to a car lovers somewhere.
  2. Well... Since youre begging..... I'll think about it.
  3. Hmm, are you sure that you want an EX detailer showing the tricks of the trade... I might have forgotten everything, it was about 3 years ago Anyone who turns up with Franjipani's will be asked to leave and not turn up to Marques in the park either...
  4. Great, Make sure you PM me when you get some and I'll let you know the feedback from the testing that we have done on them - eg. best pressures, wear rates, temps etc.
  5. Hmmm... I wonder who might that be????
  6. Have a look at Federal 595RS, they're the same sort of market as the Falken RT615 only a bit less expensive... Using 595RS and adjustable suspension a mate of mine in his R33 Gtst could do consistent 1:12 laps of Wakefield Park with only 180rwkw... Also we have a lot of very happy hilclimbers here in ACT who use them, including the track record holder for womens 3.0L + class - Very very good tyres. But Im a bit bias on Federal's www.federaltyres.com.au
  7. Dont do it! Plain and simple - Automoted dont clean your car, they just wash the surface dirt off and move the rest around creating a sort of thick matte finish of dust once it dries. If you love your car and cant wash it by hand (even at car lovers) dont wash it at all. I detailed cars for 3 years and you wouldnt believe the damage that I saw from so called "duco safe" car washes do to paint.
  8. Well, I have a 3 hour drive ahead of me on the friday so I just need to know when we're meeting so that I can plan out my trip... Also, we get a free "buddy pass" dont we? Im bringing the missus along for the weekend.
  9. Just e-transfered the $80.00... Will we be getting info on when and where we are meeting before hand? Just so that its easier to move in as a group.
  10. Nice tyres on that S13 aswell... Federal 595RS = Sticky stuff!
  11. R33 GTST RB25 gearbox = Very very strong... I dont think that its going to give way just because it crunches into 4th. There's a reason that these gearboxes are put behind big power SR20DET's Silvia's and 180's and RB30ET/DET's in VL's etc. its because they are almost bullet proof (if youre not an idiot who cant drive). My box has been ground, crunched and clunked since I first got it about 4 years ago and since putting redline shockproof in it I havent had any troubles with it.
  12. To settle this properly...Contact the RTA - under the freedom of information act you get get them to e-mail the official regulations to you. I know because I did it with wheel and tyre regulations and they e-mailed me a 70 page pdf file with every rule and regulation on wheels and tyres in NSW / ACT.
  13. $80 sounds good to me, Im happy to pay whatever is needed.
  14. Would that mean that I get free entry too?? Im happy to pay anyway if it means helping out everyone else with costs...
  15. So whats the theme then?
  16. Q1. - Normal, especially if youre using thin oil such as 5W-40 etc. Q2. Best thing to do is take them off completely and check that all of the trim plugs arent broken and replace them if they are. Q3. Any windscreen reparier will be able to fix gaps in your windscreen seals. Q4. My gearbox was very clunky and used to grind into 2nd and 4th until I replaced the oil with Redline Synthetic Shockproof oil... Its dear as poison but works wonders, its worth trying.
  17. Yeah, the last couple of years Ive stayed at the Novatel Homebush, very conveniant, just accross the road... I dont mind partaying but my missus might have other ideas
  18. I've considered respraying the engine bay, but its not a show car, its built more for go than show...
  19. Thanks guys, it took about 7 hours all up including taking the covers off and putting it all back together... I had to be SO careful to not scratch the new paint when I put everything back together. Take your time to do it right the first time... Buy / use only the best quality materials... If you dont have a lot of experience spray painting, get someone who does to show you how... (there's a certain art to it). Choose your painting time wisely, the temp outside (or where your spraying) needs to be about 20 - 25 degrees for the best result. Cleaning and preparation are the MOST important part of the whole excercise, so take your time. I cant think of anything else right now.
  20. Just thought Id share... Ive entered into Autosalon Final Battle this year with SAU NSW and I thought that it was about time I cleaned up my engine bay a little... Its a work in progress, but a good start I think. This is the process from what it used to look like... And after a lot of cleaning and spraying - what it looks like now. Excuse the quality of the photo's - taken with phone camera.
  21. Nice work, very well done for a back yard job by the looks of it. Be sure to post pics of finished product.
  22. Sounds good... Now all I need to do is organise accomodation.
  23. I wont be able to make a meeting in Sydney as Im in Canberra and I dont really have the cash to blow on fuel for the round trip, can someone take notes and advise us interstate members of whats happening? Also, I can transfer the cash for entry via net bank if someone has details...
  24. I faxed my form last week... To Dr Doof I think.
  25. Thanks guys, I'll have a go with a heat gun first, I dont really like the idea of putting $200+ indicators in the oven...
