  1. Funny as hell... I lol'd
  2. I've done a bit of searching and it seems that most Skyline owners who want bolt on flares buy the S13 kit... Like this one Click Can anyone tell me if these fit straight onto an R32 GTST or whether they need a bit of cutting and shutting?
  3. Try the guys at Trojan Mark, Angelo holds on to stuff like that for diagnosing faults. I can give them a call for you if you like
  4. A couple more photos of how it looks (and goes) now...
  5. Just thought I'd add a few points to this thread for you James Even thuough this car has been a "budget build" I have been amazed at just how well it goes, with consistent 1.10's at Wakefield (including fuel surge, slipping clutch, too much front camber and Federal 595RS-R tyres) after the work that has been done recently getting the power to a reasonable level (tuned by Glenn at ESP Racing), getting the power to the ground with some suspension tweaks, sorting out the fuel system and putting in plenty of cooling ducts for the engine and brakes, we should be able to get it into the 1.09's or lower with some stickier 'R-spec' rubber. Here are a few more piccies of the build (hope you don't mind me adding these James) Taking the old (blown) RB20 NICS out... And putting in the new RB25/30... Custom air guide for intercooler (oil cooler installed as well)... Interior begins to take shape... After about 14 or 15 beers we decide that it would be a great idea to paint the two tone bright yellow... Not bad for a spray can job The brakes looked a bit dull... Wakefield Park (the shakedown day)... More photos to come...
  6. Why is everyone selling their cars?... It makes me sad
  7. You should buy this once you sell yours Luke Click here
  8. Click here Can anyone lend me $45 - $60k? - I promise I'll pay it back
  9. I know that this is a little late (I dont check the forums that much anymore) but... Youre obviously a smarter person than I am... This is almost identical to what happened to me but the car behind me was a BA XR8 Falcon and I stupidly reacted to the driver's attempts to make me race him (bad move). I ended up with a $1,700 fine and half my licence gone... It was an unmarked cop. I took it to court as I thought that it was illegal for Police to push someone into committing a crime but I lost and had to pay the fine anyway. The moral of the story: NO MATTER WHO OR WHAT CAR TRIES TO GET YOU TO RACE THEM ON THE STREET - DON'T REACT, just let them do what they want... They'll eventually get bored and go past you. Thats Mick's lesson for the day kiddies
  10. Don't do it Luke... You'll lose the title of SAU boy racer I'd hate to see this car go to someone who didnt know just how awesome it is to drive hard... I have driven a lot of high performance cars in my time but nothing has handled quite as good as this R33. There are so many memories wrapped up in this car... It will be a very sad day when it rolls out of your driveway one last time Luke BTW - You still owe me about 100 hours of labour costs for the work I put into this car over 7 years
  11. Welcome! I love the white 'VORK RAVS' wheels
  12. Very cool project! Welcome to ACT SAU
  13. Oooooh I am sooo tempted...
  14. Ill be there in about half an hour
  15. My advice: Don't make the mistake of buying second hand suspension Jason - especially if you want your Skyline to handle really well. You don't know what your'e buying and whatever you get may need rebuilding anyway, so you end up spending the same or more than if you were to buy brand new. Your best bet is to check the group buys on these forums, there are usually really good deals there... Or contact one of the site sponsors to see if you can get a discount. Also, remember that your Skyline is now 14 years old and if you replace the shocks and springs, it will most likely need new bushes as well. By the way - The single best handling mod you can do to a GTS-T is to get a HICAS lock-out kit fitted. Hope this helps Mick
  16. Bite me James R&G - Welcome to SAU!
  17. +1 for KMF --- This guy does amazing work! I had some wheels painted recently by Wizard Paint Repairs in Fyshwick and they did a really good job - www.wizardpaintrepairs.com.au, well priced too. Also, my GF had her car repaired at Gemini (formerly Hall Bros) in Fyshwick and they did a pretty decent job, no runs no overspray and really friendly service... Good turn around time too.
  18. When it comes to comparing physical tyre widths between brands, there isnt really any way to say exactly how wide they will be without actually getting out your tape measure and measuring the sectional width of the tyre. There is no exact common rule that all tyre manufacturers stick to when it comes to how wide tyres have to be. Tyre widths (such as 235, 245, 255 etc.) are only comparable within each individual brand... I have seen two tyres of exactly the same size (275/30R19) in two different brands that were almost an inch different in width. If you are really concerned about the physical width of your next set of tyres then your best bet is to find out which brand and model of tyre you want, then go to some local tyre shops and ask if they have them in stock so that you can get the actual width. As for the overall diameter of the tyres - find out the original size that the GTR came out of the factory with, work out the diameter in mm (there are sites on the net that will calculate it for you) then try to get as close to this as possible with the new 19" tyres, for example: ---- 245/45R17 = approx 652mm diameter ---- 245/35R19 = approx 654mm diameter ---- difference = 2mm. Hope this helps
  19. Hey Chris, You can have a drive of mine one day soon, I have a TOMEI short shifter in my RB25 box... Should be a good comparison, although my box isnt exactly new.
  20. This is true to a certain extent... It all depends on how the tyres have been warehoused/stored over the last 5 years. Car tyres are made with oils, carbon and chemicals in the tread and casing, over time these additives can leach out or dry up within the layers of the tyre. There is also the possibility that if the tyres were not kept away from moisture when they were warehoused, the steel belts inside the case may have started to rust. In your case this issue could be especially bad because the tyres are semi-slicks which are obviously meant to be used for "stress driving" and your car is a fairly powerful machine which puts even more stress on them... My personal opinion would be to not use them simply because you don't know what condition they are in internally, try to get a return for credit or get your money back and go to your local tyre shop to buy tyres that are at least under 3 years old. I hope this helps
  21. The look of sheer pain on James' face still haunts me
  22. Tyre noise is caused by the tread design, not the compound, also if the tyres are very noisey it probably means that they are unevenly worn. There are a number of reasons that tyres can become noisey but the most common is uneven tyre wear. Have a close look at the tread blocks, if they have a slight 'lip' on one edge then they need to be rotated to wear them flat again.
  23. Something tells me that you'll need some rubber for it?? *hint hint*
  24. I remember all of those people... But the ultimate "Old Skool" moment was when we all bet James $20 that he wouldnt snort a line of salt... We lost
