  15. It would be very easy to dress all in black and sneak up behind the first camera and destroy it, then move onto the next one, no one would see you and you would have at least 10 minutes before the cops turned up to get out of there. I suggest metho and a lighter...
  16. I know you are, you said you are, but what am I?
  17. Well, I was thinking about taking part but now Im definately out... I dont think that the Po Po would like my car very much. Bloody money grubbing, fun spoiling, #sshole government... It seems that being young and having a nice car is a crime these days no matter how good a citizen you are.
  18. Incorrect... Remember that your car still has standard injectors, standard fuel pump and standard computer, when you replace all these for after market / higher flowing items and you have it much more hard tuned than factory you find that the engine becomes very picky about what you put into it. Mine ran very bad on Shell and almost as bad on Caltex but BP and Mobil are great, so thats enough evidence for me.
  19. Your injectors can clog up due to bad fuel but I dont know about them physically breaking because it. I only ever use BP Ultimate, or if I cant get BP I use Mobil Synergy and have never had a problem with either of them, I have used Caltex and Shell in the past but my engine didnt like them as much (especially shell), I got less Km's from a tank and it felt sluggish and unresponsive, the engine pinged few times at high revs while using Shell. I have a bit of a bias opinion though, my car has a Power FC computer and 550cc injectors (along with some other goodies) and it was dyno tuned using BP Ultimate.
  20. I think we should have a thread about where fixed speed camera's are located, the most frequent locations of speed camera vans and what cars we've identified as unmarked patrol cars, just so that we can help each other out as this new "Blitz" on speeding and street racing gets worse and worse... I have managed to get my hands on (thanks to a friend of a friend) a press release by the ACT government about the newest fixed speed camera locations: The following sites are now operational as of 13th August 2007. Tuggeranong Parkway, (Northbound) - near the Cotter Road overpass Tuggeranong Parkway, (Southbound) - near the Cotter Road overpass FURTHER EXPANSION OF TRAFFIC CAMERA PROGRAM Minister for the Territory and Municipal Services, John Hargreaves, today announced a further expansion of the ACT traffic camera program, with another eight cameras to be put into use around Canberra. These sites have new red light/ speed camera's installed: Canberra Avenue/Captain Cook Crescent/Manuka Circle; and Gungahlin Drive/Gundaroo Drive. These sites are planned for new fixed cameras: Federal Highway, southbound, approaching the Antill Street roundabout Federal Highway, northbound, approaching the Antill Street roundabout Tuggeranong Parkway, both directions, near the Cotter Road overpass Tuggeranong Parkway, both directions, near the Hindmarsh Drive underpass Barton Highway, both directions, between Curran Drive and Gold Creek Road Barton Highway, both directions, between Gungahlin Drive and Ellenborough Street Monaro Highway, both directions, near the Hindmarsh Drive overpass Monaro Highway, northbound, between Lanyon Drive and Sheppard Street Monaro Highway, southbound, between Mugga Lane and Isabella Drive I know that we are responsible drivers and dont speed anyway so this thread is just as a guide for those of us a little bit worried that our speedo is inaccurate...
  21. Hey, Do you guys go to the Southern Cross gym in Woden? I go there sometimes (when Im not working) and I see a few Skylines every now and then... Mine is the silver R32 Gtst with GTR body kit, you should come and introduce yourselves, stop being so rude! :)
  22. Well, thats your choice. I know the owner personally and he is a great guy and a very good auto elec. Sometimes accidents happen and you cant generalise because of one incident, after dealing with them for over 2 and a half years I know for a fact that they are a really proffesional bunch of guys. But.....You cant believe everything you read in forums can you.
  23. I used to work for an auto electrical wholesaler and we supplied allot of the auto elec worshops around Canberra, the best places to go get a good alarm installed are by far Lonsdale Auto Electrics in Braddon (very switched on auto elec's) and Tuggeranong Auto Electrics (also very good) I wouldnt go anywhere else. However, an alarm and immobiliser will only protect you so much, a pro theif will get through an alarm in no time, your best bet is a hidden kill switch somewhere in the car that only you know about, Ive heard of some very creative ones such as pushing the ashtray in (push button switch behind it), these simple switches are just as effective (if not more) as an immobiliser. I also have spoken to a few vehicle recovery cops and they have all told me that the best defense against car theives is a club lock... I have been told by numerous cops that the first question they ask the owner when a car is found after being stolen is did it have a Club lock? The answer is ALWAYS no. But I think that the best defense is DONT park anywhere that you dont 100% trust (like anywhere in Civic).
