Thats gold! LOL I dont think that you need to worry about finding a BOV that "flutters" because just about all BOV's are very similar in design... The noise that you want is made according to how your intake system is set up ie: *whether you have front mount intercooler or not, *whether your BOV is plumb back or straight to atmosphere, *whether you have a pod filter or airbox, *whether your boost is turned up or not... There are many different things to factor in when playing around with the inlet... And as said in previous posts, you might have alot of trouble with your mixtures (air/fuel) if you put the wrong BOV on without doing anything else to the car first (like a programable ECU or Air fuel controller)... BOV's basically just make different noises according to how tight the spring in them is set to. Happy hunting though

Tomorrow night for those who care - I will be there, Im pretty sure that Jayce, Erica, Mark and Luke will be too mabye even Andrew and Leigh... I tried a long time ago to strike up some interest with everyone (see S*E*X it aint trivial) but to no avail... So the new plan is - If you want to go then go - if you dont then dont (sit at home and drool like an idiot infront of that so called "TV show" the OC)... Anywho, its up to you! P.s.... Only the coolest and most dedicated ACT SAU'ers kept going when everyone else bailed, heh heh heh

Well spotted Scooby, its actually an RB30/20DET hybrid motor... yet to run, I shouldnt disclose anymore info on it cos its not mine but I will say that when its ready we expect a bit of a monster

Im trying to find the rest of the pics so expect to see more as I come across them! I also need to say a great BIG thankyou to Luke (Frink) and Mark (Bluprint) for their help with the conversion, we couldnt have done it this quickly or well without you guys *** Still more pics to come ***

Hey! I know I havent posted on here for a while but for those who still remember me I have news... Over the past 4 weeks I (and James) have been a VERY busy bee! As some of you know, I used to be the "R31 guy" along with Mark in the SAU ACT club and I used to drive a very tidy R31 silhouette with an R33 GTs-T RB25DET conversion (187rwkw on standard boost)... BUT times have changed! I recently bought myself an R32 GTs-T (cos R32's rule) with basically no mods (dont worry though, the 31 is in good hands), anyway long story short - I wanted my RB25DET in place of the underpowered and boring RB20DET so we set about doing the swap... The engines are in both cars and the exhaust's, tailshafts, crossmembers and wiring are almost all sorted out, once the 32 is running again I will be bolting and plugging in a few extra goodies (approx 260rwkw) - but that is another story for another time... Well its almost done! Yay! It should only be another 2 weeks until I will be able to show it off again. I will post pics up soon (I still need to edit them). I will say one thing though... This is the last transplant I do because the 2 that I have done have both started fun but ended up becoming very stressfull, aggravating and expensive! (Its all worth it in the end though) Anywho - more updates and pics soon! (Just thought you might want to hear about the progress Jayce )

Guilt trip? What guilt trip? I like the way you think Leigh! But we all know that with us SAU guys the car comes first (even before the woman). Hehehe

Well, its Tuesday tomorrow and I will be going to the Jerra club, I know that I can rely on Jayce and Erica, Andrew and a few other non-SAU members (friends of mine) to be there but if no one else is coming then thats thier choice... Ive had enough of trying to drum up more interest every 3 weeks so this is the last time. Option 1 - Come along to a nice place that serves great food and drinks, have some fun with great people and let off alittle of that week day steam. or Option 2 - Dont come and carry on doing that normal repeatative thing that you do every Tuesday night (you might enjoy it). And Shaun - I dont think that you have to worry about the toilet dwelling gay guy that your so scared of cos Ill be there and I promise Ill lay the smack down for you if I have to I hope to see a decent turn out tomorrow night but hey if it doesnt happen what can you do?

I know that I have said this over and over but Im going to try ONE MORE TIME! We had a good thing going for a while there people! We must be the only SAU community to have the chance to be able to get together weekly for a few drinks and a good time and NO ONE is taking that opportunity anymore! I dont know whether people just lost interest or if they can peel thier eyes from the bloody O.C every Tuesday night, but I know that I always had fun going to meet up with this group at Jerra and now whenever I go I dont even know if there will be anyone there! Whats wrong with everyone? Why pass up the chance to have a great night out during the week and let off some steam? (fair enough if you have other commitments but surely you can come out after if they dont go until 10pm)... I have only been an SAU member for just over a year now but in that time a have made some real friends who are some of the best people I have met and I mostly owe it to Tuesdays at Jerra! Remember the carpark when it was lined with 'Lines and we had to make our own tables cos there were just too many of us!? If anyone tells me that they NEVER had a good time at Jerra on a Tuesday night then I would say that they are lying cos it was great! COME ON people! I have talked to people in the other SAU areas and they all think that we have the best opportunity to get together and be the most tight knit group in Oz, but they cant believe it when I say that people have just stopped going! They tell me that they wish they had something like we do! and most of us are just throwing that opportunity away... I know that Jayce, Erica, Andrew (Veilside33) and Mark (Bluprint) will back me up in saying that we should have more interest from people on these forums because being a "member" doesnt mean just writing up a few threads online every now and then - it means getting out and enjoying your car with other people who have the same interests and similar cars. This is the last time I am going to try... If no one is interested then Ill shut up about it, we'll just let it die and Ill just stop going too.

Spotted MIVEC's 33 in the RJ's carpark on Friday night about 8:30....... The windows were fogged up so I didnt dare go and have a closer look

I think you meant to say Federals Luke I wont be coming anymore, I just realised that is the weekend that I start the first step of major modding to the 32.... And 4 days to work on it is to good to waste. But once its done and Im fairly happy with it, its definatly going on the track!

Sauce - There are a few easy and inexpensive ways to make a little more power out of your engine - First of all would be: Youre turbo has a computer controlled wastegate which works from a solenoid on the passenger side of the engine bay (probably somewhere on the strut tower) this solenoid controls the amount of pressure in the turbine according to engine revs, there are two wires on the bottom of the solenoid - a white wire and a black wire - I know this sounds dodgy but cut the BLACK wire and find a good place to ground it to the body, this will cause your solenoid to be constantly running at full boost (7-8psi instead of 5-6) and at lower revs = you will probably notice it making full boost at around the 3,000 rpm mark giving you alot more mid range torque... Trust me on this cause it works, Ive done it (but if youre not sure about it then get someone who has done it already to show you how)... Another thing you can do is buy a boost bleed valve "controller" from e-bay (I believe that leech_ knows how to get them for $35) although they are usually pretty unreliable which means boost spikes and boost spikes can mean bye bye turbine exhaust wheel. Electronic boost control is the safest and most prescise way to go. Take in mind though that if you up boost you also up the time it takes for your turbo to build pressure so in short - more boost usually means more lag. Also if you put a front mount intercooler on it you will notice more lag because of the extra space that has to be filled by the compressed air before it enters the inlet... However - front mounts are great and are essential if you want more power. The R33 GTst computer is "un-tuneable" unless it is "piggy backed" with another computer or replaced completely - An A'Pexi Power FC is your best option, theyre quick and easy to install and there are people in Canberra who can comprehensively tune them... However they are not cheap - expect at the very least $1000 with hand controller and at least $300 for a Dyno tune. I would suggest also leaving the exhaust you have on it as it is probably a 3" madrel cat back system if its a JASMA from Japan, but one of the best things you could do would be to get a high flow catalytic cconverter and 3" mandrel turbo "dump" pipe installed - this will give you a fair increase in power and turbo reponse. You dont need heaps of money as every part for R33's is off the shelf and easily available so..... Happy modding! I hope I was of some help.
-
No way Gus... Its not running anywhere near good enough, and it will probably be off the road by then anyway
-
What Bluprint said - Ben at Intune can install, run, tune or modify anything electrical. Ed at Integra knows all about Nissans and Power FC's and he has the A'Pexi program on his laptop to comprehensivley tune them
-
Fark yeah Luke, ill come as a spectator just to see how that new suspension package holds up but mine isnt close to track spec yet (not long now though)!
-
Just as I tell everyone - Call Just Jap and speak to Tony or Darren and they'll have them

Spotted a white 32 Gtr on the Monaro hwy this morning around 7:45, had very stiff suspension, wide white Volk TE37's and a C-West type wing on it... looked very cool but the Asian looking guy driving it wouldnt look at me, so I couldnt give the usual nod of approval
-
That wasnt a Zippy little wave! It was a salute! Oh and by the way, Im still not used to seeing you driving a Skyline
-
Ooooh shot down by your own Uncle Beau! Thats gotta Hurt!
-
I didnt go this week cos of Valentines day commitments, but like Andrew said, Im there with my lovely lady friend every Tuesday night, so please feel free to come along... The more people we can get to come the better... (Seeing as no one except for the most dedicated SAU'ers come out anymore) Stinkypoo - The food is very well priced and its probably the best club food you will find locally.
-
I dont think I'll ever have that feeling Shawn, I dont get paid enough!

Spotted an S13 with S15 front and PUMPED guards, huge T wing, I think it was a bronze colour but Im not sure. Looked rice though!
