Hey guys i went to a well known performance workshop in melbourne on friday after work with a list of mods that i wanted done now i have the cash saved. They asked me though they will tune ANY ecu they 'prefer' to use autronic which they also coincidentaly sell there. I know everyone will recomend a product they make the most money on, but i just wanted to know if anyone has used them on thier skylines and if so how much they cost. I just don want to be overcharged because after having a very quick look through www.autronic.com i didnt see any prices so i dont know wat is acceptable to pay for the product? Thanks

Hi I was wondering if low 12 sec qtr mile passes are possible with the stock turbos that come on the rb25's? What are the best times you guys have got using the stock turbos and what other mods?

Hey guys. I was wondering how much boost the standard rb25 turbo can hold b4 dieing. I have read here some ppl saying 14psi, while others say anything over 12psi 'makes no difference because the turbo is working past its efficiency' I know this has beens asked b4.Yes I did do a search but there seems to be conflicting answers. does anyone know for sure, is 14 psi too much? i wanna know because i will be replacing the bleed valve with an Electronic BC and getting the car tuned so wanted to raise the boost a bit more. And also if the turbo can handle 14psi will that increased amount of fuel entering the motor be fine as far as the standard fuel pump etc is concerned or will that need to be upgraded. Thanks

Hows it goin fellas, the time has come when i got enough cash to get a front mount for the 33. I was just about to buy a kit off the net until a mate reminded me about what our high school science teacher (a retired mechanical engineer who built HIMSELF a 10sec s2 rx7) once said... when it comes to intercoolers just get a truck cut, the bigger the core the better! So does anyone agree or disagree? should i join our VLT brothers and get a nice big truckcut cooler???

My mate has a FMIC with the stock piping on his 200sx and he thinks it works fine, he also got a high rwkw dyno reading useing just the stock piping. As for the cheap FMIC, don't know. I might look into them 2.

Without taking everthing into consideration ie. 1) how laggy/responsive the turbo is 2) the tyres/state of the track and stuff. 3) one of the better ones - the driver Can't anyone with the same (estimated) power figures as WNA-FLY give him a rough estimate of what kind of 1/4 mile time he should be expecting... (ROUGHLY). P.S I will be going to go down to calder next friday night might see you there.. -

WHEELS magazine was only able to get a low 14 in the BF Typhoon so if thats all they can get a GTR will rip it..... In my opinion the Typhoon is just a boat and can not even be compared to a GTR.

Hi guys, i just gave my car a good wash and wax and noticed the little "GTS25t" sticker thats found on the back of r33s is in fairly bad condition and pretty much just looks like crap, i was just wondering if anyone knows where you can get new ones from?? Or if you even can??

Hows it goin everyone. I got my GFB turbo bleed valve installed a couple of days ago, and as all you guys from melbourne would know it was around 40 degrees. I set it to 10psi and everything was fine, it was holding on 10psi up until redline. Come yesterday when melbournes temprature droped quite a bit (dunno how much but i had a jumper on yesterday?) I got in the car to drive to a mates and when i stepped on it it spiked to about 13 or 14psi. This kind of pissed me off because what I think it means is that each time the whether changes I will need to pop my bonnet and adjust the boost Does this happen to just me? So ill advise all you guys who wanna boost your cars, dont go cheap like i did and just get an electronic boost controller from the start! lol

I think probably the best way for you to find out how much insurance would cost on an NA 32 would be to call up a few insurance companies, they'll ask you a few questions about your car, driving history, place of residence etc, and then give you a quote.

Considering you have around the 5k mark to spend on the mods go for a full turbo back 3" exhaust, get a cold air induction setup , put a front mount intercooler, then add on a boost controller then buy an apexi power fc and get it dyno tunned and the should be going way harder.

I just installed one on my R33 last week i didn't know that the spilt pipes were that much better but after seeing your results im glad i didn't go cheap and by a single dump and front pipe.

13s in a stock 33? maybe a GTR! But for a GTST in perfect working order stock at best you would get a 14.5, which for a car 10 years plus is really good, for example the new xr6t typhoons in motor magazine got a time of low 14s, so they are really good cars!

And to answer the question about what to look for and what to stay away from... check around all seals for rust, basic things such as quality of interior which may indicate how much the previous japanese owner cared about his car. Take the car for a drive yourself and drive through the gears slowy to see if you notice any unhealthy sounding vibrating or anything that doesnt feel right about the diff and gearbox. Check the exhuast to make sre it isnt blowing any wierd looking smoke, not just on idle, get someone to rev it too, should come out clear. also if you notice any little holes in the dash, that would indicate guages were attached once. if the car had guages it would also probably have had other mods that may have been taken off, thats a sure indication the car has been thrashed, this may not necessarily mean it will be a problem car but you need to be wary of it. also cheack for smash repairs. if the car has been in an accident even after panels have been fixed (often very poorly) the body may be bent so the car will never feel 100% right to drive. There is obdviously heaps of other things i didnt mention so anyone else is free to add! -

i dont know if being a 4 door will make much of a difference if your buying a turbo skyline as far as insurance goes, are you a P plater? If your budget is set to about $9000 it may not be the best idea to get a 32. They are reasonably old and if a problem pops up it could easily cost you another grand at least. It would probably be a good idea to not only go by what the seller is telling you about "how good condition the car is" and get it checked out by someone, like racv vehicle inspections. B4 i bought my r33 i was just about to get a "good condition 180" that turned out to be just about to fall apart. -
and btw that guess is based on what my mates cefiro with an rb20 with similar mods was running.

Yeah after adding an exhaust and a airfilter that boost level sounds about right if its a turbo back exhaust, if its not maybe the guy you bought it off has put a boost contoller on it or something?

reading through my original post i think it may be unclear exactly what im asking, what id like to know if anyone can help me is will a bleed valve set to 10psi mean that the car will go stright to 10 psi as soon as it hits boost, as opposed to what happens now..which is a gradual climb (7psi up until around 5000rpm) to 10 psi high in the rev range? Thanks guys. -
Hows it goin boys, i got my exhaust fitted yesterday 3inch turbo back, thats the only mod the cars got. When i drive it in the low revs it shows up around 5 or 6 psi then it goes up slowly till arround 7 or 8 then at pretty much exactly 5000rpm it goes straight to 10psi and stays till redline. What my question is with a bleedvalve will that enable the car to be boost at 10psi right from the begining say 2500 (or whenever boost kicks in on the rb25's) i just wanna make sure it will b4 i buy one, becoz a mate of mine reckons if its boosting to 10 psi now theres no point? Thanks.

hi guys, i was looking under my car this morning and i noticed that their looks to be two oxygen sensors. I have recently purchust a METAL CAT (high flow cat) that hasn't got any holes for a oxygen sensor.. so dose that mean that i can not use this cat on my car (r33)? hopefully it doesnt coz it was pretty expensive Thanks
