  1. Good day out for some, seemed to be a fair few people needing recovery. SAU was well represented too but at least nothing major. Decent turn out as per the last few rounds, even with the short notice. Will do the spreadsheet later, let me know if I missed anyone or mucked up groupings. Modified Aaron BARNES (1) Nissan GTR S13 1:19.4905 Matt LOWTH (1) Lotus Exige S S13 1:23.1876 Tony OLSSON (1) Nissan Skyline S13 1:35.5606 Brett STUCHBERY (1) Holden Commodore SS P1 1:37.3503 AWD Tuner Scott FISHER (1) Mitsubishi EVO S13 1:25.1480 Darren COX (1) Nissan Skyline S13 1:25.1482 Clive SMALL (1) Mitsubishi EVO S5 1:36.2441 RWD Tuner Simon HENMAN (1) Nissan Skyline S1 1:28.1202 Ash COSGRIFF (1) Holden HSV Clubsport S13 1:28.2339 Robert NIGRO (1) Nissan Skyline S13 1:28.3190 David MARINUCCI (3) Toyota 86 S15 1:28.5517 Stephen VERSCHUREN (1) Nissan Skyline S1 1:29.4643 John PACKHAM (1) Nissan 200 SX S1 1:29.6630 Daniel VETTER (1) Nissan Skyline S5 1:32.7835 Michael SILCOCK (1) Nissan 200 SX S1 1:33.0136
  2. CAMS portal says 42 entries. Is that everyone or are AROCA taking entries internally as well?
  3. If you actually turn up, I'll buy you a beer (after we've finished driving of course)
  4. Nice lap, I need boost hehe
  5. Fun day taking out passengers. No one has done any video or pics so I'll start... Would be my PB, if it was on Natsoft that is, so doesn't count/never happened! Got some good tips in an earlier session but I was a bit over zealous with the speed through the kink, I'd like to say it was a skilful save but pretty sure it was more luck. Thought I had some decent video following HMAS White Whale aka the Stagea but GoPro fail! Fark it was a pisser to watch it bounce over the ripple strips, poor suspension hehe. That thing clearly wasn't designed to change direction in a hurry at turn 2 & 3 but top work by the ships captain!
  6. Well hopefully problem solved and no more infield cheating. Got a Garmin Glo on charge right now.
  7. I need to get me one of them, the internal phone GPS is usually spot on time wise but sometimes gets "lost" and thinks I've cut across the infield which maps lap comparisons a bit hard some times
  8. hahaha we go way back so its was less awkward and more reminiscing moving on.... i'll have the results sorted today sometime
  9. How nice is it to have power! That farken lotus is bullshit, no weight, awesome power delivery, stops and turns on a dime. It's super special cheater spec. Although as a passenger, you need to be really comfortable with the driver lol, it's somewhat um cosy.
  10. I thought it was a pretty sketchy lap actually. Gearbox is nice when warm since putting in Motul 300, still horrible when cold though. Pretty sure its just a newer revision of what you've got in the S15, been a while since I had mine but I liked the gearbox in that car once I put decent fluid in.
  11. Good to see the timing decision got reversed. Recoveries were a bit slow but otherwise seemed to run ok, for the bit I took part in at least. Seem's I cursed myself complaining about tourist laps. Went sub 40's which is a PB but damaged a tyre at the same time so disappointed I didn't get another session to attempt a 38 which I think is possible. What wasn't possible was driving home on the damaged tyre..... And the lap Big thanks to Craig for lending me a wheel to make it home (lesson learnt, carry spares and a jack!) and Aaron for roadside assistance. Also cool to have a few people pull over and see if I needed a hand, even if they were in a bit of strife themselves. Though not the FA crew, they top gear'd me. I'd have done it to them haha. The results don't list club so I'll need a hand confirming who are SAU Vic members for the motorsport championship update. I've assumed some of these.... 2 1 Aaron Barnes Nissan R35 GTR 16 7 1:34.6096 0:00.4865 5 53 Matt Lowth Lotus Exige S 28 20 1:37.3754 0:03.2523 8 26 Dave Marinucci Toyota 86 13 12 1:39.6462 0:05.5231 9 42 John Olasau Nissan Skyline 12 7 1:40.3381 0:06.2150 12 2 Aaron Klaver Toyota GT86 31 11 1:41.6419 0:07.5188 17 41 Jian C Pook Toyota Supra 21 16 1:42.6462 0:08.5231 20 25 Darren Cox Nissan Skyline R32 G 23 14 1:42.8739 0:08.7508 21 24 Craig Furniss Subaru BRZ 42 32 1:42.9372 0:08.8141 22 54 Matthew Borci Nissan R33 GTR 29 18 1:42.9563 0:08.8332 24 4 Aidan Mongor Nissan Silvia S15 Au 40 32 1:43.6117 0:09.4886 28 22 Christopher Starr BMW 328is 32 25 1:43.8816 0:09.7585 29 55 Michael Brne Nissan R32 GTR 26 24 1:44.0793 0:09.9562 30 6 Alex Barnes HSV GTS 17 17 1:44.7840 0:10.6609 33 81 Quintin Richardson Skyline 32 11 1:45.1377 0:11.0146 36 43 John Richardson Nissan R33 GTST 19 3 1:45.4729 0:11.3498 37 70 Shivam Rohit Nissan R32 GTR 30 26 1:45.6113 0:11.4882 39 71 Simon Henman Nissan Skyline 17 17 1:45.9468 0:11.8237 40 32 George Gerakis nissan r32 skyline 29 27 1:45.9637 0:11.8406 41 10 Ashley Cosgriff HSV R8 25 16 1:46.0869 0:11.9638 56 18 Brett Stuchbery Holden VX Commodore 25 16 1:50.0763 0:15.9532
  12. Every second session we will be running passengers with no timing? I know people like to take passengers for some fun, but Winton is a bit far to be driving for half the day to be tourist laps.... EDIT: Just had a response from the organisers. There is 70 entries, not 60?
  13. Hehe I think I should just stick to PI days....
  14. Well run day peoples, should get solid turn outs for these if run regularly. Did the bottom 3 people even turn up hehe? Makes the rest of us under 100 points look even worse lol
  15. The middle section section is a typical wheel well but only the 2 with labels are standard height cans. The 2 yellow and outer red ones are all low profile cans like this which make life a lot easier. Can still fit these in the boot with the floor liner in place and not using the wheel well: https://www.masters.com.au/product/900031253/scepter-petrol-jerry-can-squat-20l.jsp
  16. You're not trying hard enough! Plenty of room in a prius, should be a easy as in a skyline! That said, the shitty economy does make it a pain in the arse for the long haul. According to the website there isn't a united beyond Somerton with E85.
  17. But they had taco bill sombreros on, that was official safety gear back in the day! Yeah I never did master the handbrake in the taxi's, it felt worse in the car lol
  18. I'm pretty sure if you went through the archives of all your footage you'd have some comedy gold. Though some of it probably wouldn't go too well with current CAMS and safety regs!
  19. Are there facilities to have the Clipsal 500 coverage showing
  20. How are entries going?
  21. Make sure you have oil (Simon hehe), coolant, brake fluid etc. Street tyres have decent pressure, not running them at 30psi so the sidewalls just flop over. Leave handbrake off after a session, even cruise around the car park to let everything cool off a bit
  22. I'll more than likely do the day trip as well.
  23. Hehe yeah full throttle from the exit of turn 10 basically. I think the extra camber helped in that regard (~3 front, 2.5 rear)
  24. Well I've had a lot of practice, that was my 13th day at the Island in 1.5yrs Google Nexus wireless charger. Nexus 5 has metal discs in the chassis and charger has the magnets. Hasn't moved in daily driving, reefton runs or track.
  25. Haha if it makes you feel any better John, I don't have any GoPro footage to rub it in! But I'm sure the other guys can make up for it Actually I do! Damn GoPro battery died as I rounded the final corner on my next best lap (1:52.1504 vs 1:52.1412 so close enough!). A 51 seems so close...
