  1. That's exactly what i intend to do, but i want the abrasive course.
  2. tmc 2: I totally agree with you. A little cleaning up, a bit of sanding on the out surface and possibly a Powder Coat and all will look sweet. For the price, i too purchased the copy, but the GReddy unit is undeniably better quality: Even in the pics, and pics tend to hide some things.
  3. Thanks buddy! They are cheapy rims Lenso Muse 19 x 8, custom powder coated to the charcol colour. Bought rims about 4+yrs ago, at that time the costed me $3600 with tyres (Hankook K104). Got a pretty good deal, considering 19's weren't as popular then as they are now. These rims can be found for about $1200 second hand, i've seen them for sale here (sau) numerous times, so keep an eye out. 75coupe: Sorry to inadvertantly catch you out , just looked soooo tough. Here is a pic of my car with 335 tyres fitted, and it is not a photo chop I like to call it: Tonka Spec Those rims belong to my mate's car:

Not even a pearl or some extra metallics I'm sure she looks sweet buddy!! PS: I'll be taking bets to see how long will Pete last at DECA b4 hitting a cone and having a rubber mark on the new paint. I say 2nd run on the Pan
  5. That is a very bold statement!! The casting is very cheap and nasty, both inside and out. I bought a knock-off and plan to "touch" it up b4 fitment. The GReddy are WAAAAY better units

Pete turn the sceen away from Doona..................................... Did you do something a little special/differant with the paint?
  7. Money transfered Pete Discription: Grape Grazing Alan
  8. Agreed........... 75coupe your car looks tough! Very nice package. PS: What is the width of your rear tyres?
  9. What are the dimensions of the GReddy fmic? I have fitted a fmic, measuring 600x300x76, but did not need to tough the chasis rails; i am a little concerned that you are willing to cut into the rails Anyway, on a S1 you will need to remove the centre part of the reo, but keep everything else (ie: top support and the actual supports that slide onto the rails). I cut out the middle part of the bar, to allow more airflow to the fmic. I then got the cut-out holes plastic welded, to make it look neat and factory, this also requires you to paint the bar.
  10. The only time i leave the car at home, is when i go to knox or i am leaving the car somewhere overnight, so i prefer to take the work car. You are right, i have less of a chance at being pulled over. But when i drive it, i still show a level of self control, as my licence is my job
  11. Great.................sorted! I'll give ya cash tonight Pete, don't care what you do with it, as long as i'm down as paid
  12. Sorry Paul have to disagree also It's all about driver attitude and having a time and place for everything. Also a bit of luck. I have never incurred an infringment in my 12yrs of driving, and that includes 8yrs as a field service tech and 6yrs owning my 'line. I have only ever coped one defect and that was in my XF falcon, for worn tyres that i never knew where worn (didn't have enough power to spin tyres ).
  13. Don't forget the gaurds buldge out. My wing sits in a similar manner, but is still within the width of the guards, near the wheels. Judging from that pic alone, i still say it may be legal. PS: I know mine is illegal, as it is fully aluminium
  14. Why? To stir up hatred in the younger, unexperienced drivers? So that they have a "f**k off" attitude when a cop pulls them over for a legit reason, then that person gets shafted for being unrespectful. I have come across all types of cops, 95% are tops, some have a chip, but treat all with respect and drop the attitude and you may have no issues at all. People are the same in all workplaces; most are good others have an attitude: The police force ain't no differant. Also respect the fact that they are doing their job. You fit illegal mods and "roll the dice" sometimes you loose, accept it .
  15. Then do something. Instead of stirring up shit and farting in the breeze; get off your ass and do what ever you beleive you can do. Personally i don't think you can do shit, as it does not involve you and there is no proof that the story is true. I really don't know why BS threads like this are kept open
  16. I think he is refering to a "drift style" wing, similar to mine, but for a 34.
  17. Provided you still have a 3rd brake light (which i think is mounted in the boot lid on a 34 ) that wing would be legal, as it looks to be completely made from fibre glass, even the supports.
  18. Raised/tuned length bell mouths are only practical for Naturally Asperated engines, raising the bell mouth on a forced induction setup is useless. I wouldn't call those rings in that plenum "bell mouth".
  19. That's exactly what i was thinking.............................................but thought i'd keep my mouth shut Hopefully it's not some low quality item that pops at 15psi, or after a couple of dyno runs
  20. Damn it!! Just when i have a couple of issues with the car . Nothing major, just wont be ready by next Sat.
  21. My previous post was in reply to this. I am merely stating that there is nothing basic about repairing this car. To learn the basics you need to start with basic accident damage, not write-offs, involving highly technical cars.
  22. If i was going to spend $865 for a copy plenum (no matter how good a copy) i'd rather spend $1100 for a genuine GReddy
  23. Any idea on cost and where?
  24. How much and where? Does the Extrude Honing make the surface really smooth, like when you port and polish? As i still want a slightly rough texture on the inside surface.
  25. Most manufacturers are on Christmas holidays and most will return on Monday, so relax and wait for the update.
