  1. I honestly reakon it would be easy, once you find a location for it. You'll have the standard thick cable gong to your boot for your audio system. Even if you replace the cable, you'll have the conduate to protect the new cable.
  2. Congrates Buddy, hope to see the pics soon. Even better; hope to see ya at a SAU VIC cruise!!
  3. I was going to say; do we have to re-register?
  4. Agreed....... I have fitted 33gtr Brembos to my gts-t, no problems, just make sure you get the little metal hose that fits onto the caliper, make things a little easier. Others have fitted 34gtr brembos to gtt. 33gtr brembo's on to a gtt involve some playing around, as the mounts are differant, stick with the 34gtr.
  5. Yep... Have to agree, $20K+. That's how much the driveline cost for the green R33 gts-t: Engine, clutch, fuel system, ecu, turbo, cams, porting, etc.
  6. My understanding of Tractive torque ( I may be wrong or slightly incorrect) Tractive torque is measure of torque at the wheels. It is the engine torque multipled by a factor that is the result of the gearing through your driveline. Gear selection, diff gears, wheels size (rolling diametre), etc, all effect the reading for Tractive torque.
  7. All depends on what he wants to do with the car. I got the impression that he drifts (roll cage, accident, etc) a GTR is useless and too expensive for that.
  8. If he removes the 26 gearbox, drive shafts, pumps, etc. ok it may even be lighter. But he also has to change the front steer rack and suspension as the GTR has a poorer turning circle than a GTS, due to the allowance for the front drive shafts. For drifting etc, you'll need all the counter lock possible. Personally, decide what you want to do with the car and choose accordingly. I would personally buy a very cheap GTS and transfer all the goodies. In the long run it will probably work out cheaper, and you'll have stock parts to sell, to recope some of the losses
  9. Not sure if this has been mentioned but the sumps are differant and i think you'll need to modify it in some way. Have you considered the weight differance between the GTS and GTR. Without the 4wd, the GTR is an understeering pig, as there is more weight at the front of the car. Pretty useless for drifting, etc, as the ass end always want to come round.
  10. It's tractive torque, not engine torque.
  11. If you have a healthy engine why throw it away? Have you ever felt how a car drives/handles that makes over 400rwkw? Saying you want it, then having to live with it are two differant things. Most ppl that are making this power, usually don't drive them often, as they are pretty damn annoying on the street. Speak to Vic at EAS Perfomance, Airport West. Tel: 93302001. I have been using them for 6yrs and my car is still going strong, making 257rwkw on the std bottom end (power soon to be increased). The latest 33gtst they built made 487rwkw, WITHOUT the NOS system hooked up, at this years Autosalon Semi-final RB25 with T04Z, head porting, cams, wolf3d, etc.

    Tampered Vin Plate

A mate was about to buy a 33 GTR, the thing was mint and had a bit of work done with all top shelf items. He noticed that the VIN # appeared to be tampered. When i say "appeared" i mean there was no effort in masking the change. It looked like someone got the Dremal tool and engraved the second half of the number, free hand, over the original digits (you couldn't make out the original #s). After ringing DOTORS/RAWS, Vicroads, Police, importers, etc. He couldn't get a clear answer. Dotors stated that the car was one of the first 33's to be imported and that the VIN # (or part of it) may have been changed legally. When asked for documentation, etc, they couldn't provide it. The Police stated that if the car was pulled over and suspected to have a fake VIN #, they have a right to confiscate the car and hold it till an investigation clears it, which can take over 12 months. At the end the officer stated: "If you have a bad feeling about the VIN #, then walk away and don't buy it" So that, and the unclear reason why this car had a "tampered" VIN #, was enough to drop the sale.
  13. Yea......... A Falcon is a boat so is the 33
  14. That's because we have been playing "catch up" to all the mods you had done b4 2004 Either way i'm not really fussed: Just like blowing wind up you skirt, YA PUSSY!! If i do hit the track this year, i think there is no question i'll be in the modified class, so all you're doing is slimming the competion. It's not like i'll be pushing too hard anyway, i wouldn't want a re-occurance of my last track day
  15. Bris have you gone to the Doc yet?

    Happy B'day Justin

Happy b'day Justin. Hot weather only gives you an excuse to drink more for the occation
  17. Not talking about rotor; caliper is the same. Yes in Melb.
  18. Hey russ, 34 GTT calipers are the same as 33gtst. GTR calipers a bigger and fatter. Russ if you are interested my mate is selling silver/grey set (like Paul's) for $700. I just liked the black and red ones.
  19. Shit same here........... These would match my paint scheme nicely. On a side note: Do you think they'll clear GTR Brembos?
  20. Can you imagine the epa Bris: "Yes officer that 250rwkw producing turbo is standard, it was fitted from factory................................on an EVO. Yes those injectors are also factory fitted..................on a GTR." officer: "But you drive a 32GTSt?" Bris: So.............. they are factory components. Does this mean i could fit the 600hp turbo off the BA Falcon and still be classed in the standard class, provided i use RX7 injectors, with an RB30 bottom end? Sorry Bris, i still find your logic a little funny
  21. All blue gates belts, that i have seen, loose the blue coating and goes black, with patches of blue.
  22. Definately a V8
  23. If the engine has been rebuilt, wouldn't everything be tight, thus have more friction, thus runs hotter? But 101degC sounds way too high
