    Dyno Day Wrap Up

First let me give a big thanks to Nigel and his friend (sorry didn't get your name), at RACINGLINE, for holding the dyno day. Great guys and great new w/shop, wish you both a prosperous future in you new endeavour. The day was a huge success, with cars on the dyno continuously. Met a few new guys and hope to see you all at our cruises/events. On a personal note; i stayed till the last car and left with a grin from ear to ear . Due to my 19's i expected a lowish figure, i knew my tune was dropped to about 250'ish rwkw with 16" rims, so i expected a figure at 230rwkw. The car made 240.Xrwkw, with what was referred to as hugely rich A/R ratios . There may not be much power to gain up top, but there is alot to be desired mid-range. After having a chat to Nigel, i stated that "my mechanic probably wanted to keep the engine safe". His reply of the day: "there is safe but yours is just wasting fuel" . I believe i may have made the highest figure for the day, so i am pretty damn happy! I have decided to give this set-up one more tune, before i install the GT-RS, just to see if i can gain some more response for DECA. Below is a graph comparing my tune to Pete's, the quality difference in tune is obvious.
  8. Spoke to Howard, very arrogant, felt like slapping the attitude off from his face. He should learn that not everyone knows everything about brake sizes, etc. So instead of pratonising a potenial customer, he should help and explain, that way he may get some business.Nope; Have been told by numerous other people that the rears are fine. Was considering moving my std four pots to the rear, but then was advised otherwise. Any opinions on this?
  9. Since when did you get a paint job And it unfortunately wasn't my car. But a BIG thumbs up for the guy having a go in a legal environment! sssrama, like to see yourself out there doing better times, and if you can good on ya . Maybe the car is set up for track use and is absolutely hopeless for drag racing, just like mine.
  10. Always worth a try Will PM you soon
  11. I have just purchased as set of front R33 GTR Brembo's for my R33 Gts-t and intended to purchase a set of DBA5000's. Now the std size DBA5000's are 324mm in diametre and 30mm thick, but then i started thinking................ 1/ If i was to get brackets professionally made, to "lift" the caliper, what is the biggest sized rotor i could fit? I was hoping to fit 343mm rotors, but am unsure if the caliper is compatable with the differance in "curvature". ie: Some calipers, such as AP Racing, are designed to be compatible with a certain range of rotor sizes (eg: 290mm to 343mm). Are the R33 Brembo's compatable with 343mm rotors or bigger? 2/ Am i able to fit 32mm thick rotors or are the Brembo's limited to 30mm? Your help would be GREATLY appreciated

  16. Nate, There is only one t-shirt. The two pics show the front and back designs.
  17. 1 x XXL
  18. Nengun are very good. Another good parts importer is RMS Motorparts, they have a shop in Ringwood (so you are dealing with someone local) and are usually priced the same as Nengun. You still usually have to wait 4-5 weeks for the parts to arrive, but the delivered price also includes AUS TAX (only valid for big $$$ parts). I have used RSM to purchase; Cams, valve springs, HKS turbo, etc and found Henry very polite and helpful. RMS Motorparts Contact: Henry Tel: 9872 6669. 19. Great............. Would be good to get some answers. For 2wds the front brakes wont matter as they are stationary, but the rears may get a little warm . The concept is great, hopefully it kicks off for them.
  20. Honesty i do not trust dealer warrenties. They patch up the fault/problem in the cheapest way possible. Better off getting it checked properly and going by that. If something does happen you will fix it properly. Just my opinion....
  21. Time to walk away........ There are plenty of other 33's on the market and this sounds like he has something to hide. Is he a dealer? Most the time it is better to go private, as dealers are professionals at making "mutton look like lamb". But sometimes you can find a good one in a yard. NOTE: Do not take it to RACV, a specialised performance shop (of you choice) would do a better job for inspection. PM me if you need any assistance, i also live in the West....
  22. Adrian, are you affiliated in any way with Drag Tag? Just would like to know if the opinion is unbiased. Without airflow how is the engine, brakes, etc. cooled? With 4wd cars how can you turn the wheel? As i have seen some close calls if the wheels are not kept straight.
