  1. How much is the temp raising to?
  2. What do you mean by stock rebuilt engine? Did you use forgies, race bearings, etc, with stock compression and std head. OR Did you rebuild it with stock pistons, etc. Hopefully you rebuilt it properly, otherwise you will be soon due for another build, with that power.

    Heya Peoples...

Welcome. Some pics would also be great . What side of town do you live in?

    Hi Alll

Hi Madness, I have used the Wolf for the last 3-4yrs and believe it to be an awesome ecu. There are alot of ppl/tunners that would disagree and say otherwise, but they most probably have not used the wolf b4 and couldn't use it's numerous features to tune it. I have had my car for approx 5-6yrs an have solely gone to EAS Performance all this time, not alot of ppl can say that about their w/shop of choice . They are located at: 11 Victory Rd Airport West tele:9330 2001 Speak to Vic, he will tell you a little more about the Wolf's features.
  5. Oil Pressure is more important I only have a cheap pressure gauge, but i have already noted where the pressure usually sits. Don't care if the gauge isn't 100% accurate, as long as it is consistant.
  6. I beleive for normal driving your average oil temp would be almost the same as your water temp, so 80-90 is normal.
  7. You interested in playing squash? I too have decided to start exercising again and loved playing squash, once or twice a week, with my mate at the Gladdy centre, but he has now started a business and is very busy. Let me know if you are interested. PS: I am not really that good, but it is great exercise and the rallies and be quite funny
  8. Where did you buy it from?
  9. Your shout at the GP then
  10. I realise V8's require different flow capabilities, just was pointing out the level of skill/experience/reputation my porter has. He also explained the differances between porting n/a heads and turbo heads. Thanks again for the data, will really come in handy. Sydneykid, thanks for you last post, as i feel more justified that i decided to port the head.
  11. Just a note........ Americans measure Hp differently to the rest of the world. Their 300Hp would actually be more like 270Hp everywhere else.
  12. THANKS!!Really appreciate all your help. I asked my mechanic today what timing my car is running at mid to low rpm and he stated 24-26deg, so this may be my problem with lag. Where the recorded runs done at full throttle? I understand your view on porting but i do not regret my decision, as a experienced porter will know how much to remove and where it is required. When discussing porting with the technician, he always stated that the best porting is done when you know what NOT to remove and what to leave alone. The guy i used has been in the trade for years........ and ports heads for the V8 supercars, as well as other forms of motorsports.
  13. Would have avoided Eltham as it is shorter to go through Greensborough bypass/Diamond Creek . I too need to fix a 3rd brake light, have been putting it off for too long . Have a feeling that they will definately pick on this, if i was ever pulled over. PS: Told ya to remove your stealth wing j/k: making a light joke from a grim situaton
  14. When did you get that quote? I have just been informed that Garrett have raised their prices. Can you please confirm the price.
  15. Damn!!! Reading you post i just thought, "ah poor guy, he must live near Knox". But you only live in Eltham , there are so many good roads there, i was planning a small cruise with some mates, will have to reconsider
  16. That's a good price, i got quoted $2780 from a Melbourne dealer.
  17. Feels good when my silly questions turn out to be not so silly
  18. I want details! From where? How much? etc.. Did you buy the kit, or just the turbo?
  19. Hey Abo Bob, Thanks for your e-mail, i appreciate your input. Just one question: Between 2k-5krpm how much timing are you running? You also mentioned an issue with porting, but the example you used related to an rb26. I personally would not touch the head of a 26, as they were engineered for race purposes, apart from port/manifold matching as stated. The rb25 on the other hand is totally different and i still believe gains are had from porting, provided it is done by a profesional porter. I run stock R33 S1, rb25det, compession. (i think it is 8.5:1 or 9:1??????)
  20. What year is your car? Could it be that your original ecu, is not 100% compatable with the newer engine. Just a thought.......
  21. No fight, just my experience/opinion Just answering your questions, in the hope that you may have an idea to improve my response. - cams: Tomei Poncams (R33 S1) D=256, L=8.5 - Head has been "race ported" and reco'ed - Adjustable Ex. gear set to "0", as i think Tomei designed the gears for the factor setting PS: Your response is exactly what i want!! 14psi by 3200rpm would be great......... What combo are you running?
  22. No idea, as i bought it second hand. There were only a very few w/shops that offered rb25 hi-flows to this rating and GCG was one. I am not saying that mine was done by GCG, as i really have no idea. Just that GCG have dropped this combo as they were having the same occational surge problem, with this setup. PS: ATP never offered this combo, as Kyp was aware of the possibility of surge problem occuring. PS: You can not compare the $'s HKS put into their turbos, to the $'s any Australian turbo "manufacturer" puts into hi-flowing a std turbo.
  23. In the past GCG did have various power options for rb25 hi-flows, they have since changed their options as some where surging. So please do not ASSUME without knowing all the info. There are quite a few differances between Pete's set-up and my own, admitantly i have no strong idea on how they affect response and power. 1/ Pete has larger cams with longer duration; Pete D=260 / L=9.15 =/= Al D=252 / L=8.5 2/ Pete has higher compression which generally brings on boost sooner 3/ My combo is producing as self imposed (std bottom end) 270rwkw, Pete's started knocking when more psi was added (ie: 250rwkw is his limit). This suggests that mine is an older hi-flow that uses the larger sierra wheel (ie: my hi-flow has been rated at 500hp, by ATP). 4/ Pete's AFR are hovering at about 12:1, mine are hovering at 11.2:1 5/ My heads have been race ported, which i have now correctly been informed does cause slightly more lag. 6/ As pete's graph does not show boost, i can only estimate that he reaches full boost by 4k, which for me is still pretty laggy. The 800 (or so) rpm differance is probably justified by the differance in set-up, as stated above.
  24. Not exactly the type of people he would want to share his design ideas with . With your qualifications you should be able to design your own.
  25. Sorry to hear buddy, rotten luck often happens to the most responsible of drivers. If you are prepared to travel west (5min from Calder Park Rwy), i have the full stock exhaust. Never had to use it, after i put on my aftermarket system on, but i am pretty certain it is complete.
