I too would have liked to see a same dyno, same day, comparison, As i believe that dyno charts aren't really worth much. Mind you my car is only fully tunned to run 255rwkw, as i never intended to run over this power, with a std bottom end. Note: Little off track Did you save that $1500? What about the new ic piping, oil and water lines, most people require a new exhaust manifold (You were lucky and has the GTS-R manifold), maybe an ext. wastegate, etc. When you add all these up, just to acheive a similar figure, how much are you really saving, you'll probably find you are actually spending more Lets not forget all the hidden costs: - More boost=less reliablity - EPA: You mods stuck out and were obvious, the officer will really have to know his stuff to pick up on my mods. My head has been ported and has a set of Tomei cams. Was advised NOT to polish the head, something to do with the fuel spray, this came from the porter. Unlike those that have not experienced the benefits of porting and cams, but still like to talk it down, i can not speak highly enough of the benefits i have felt and gained. BUT: As stated b4, this should be done after a turbo upgrade. Wether you decide on just a "hi-flow rb25/vg30 turbo" or go crazy with a "T78", gains can be had with porting and cams. My "hi-flow rb25/vg30 turbo", with porting and cams is making 270rwkw@15psi, compared to Ash's GT30 making 270rwkw@17psi. I have also the added bonus of looking standard, as the turbo has the factory comp cover/housing and factory shields. Once again: these should be one of your last power mods, but i beleive that they shouldn't be overlooked.

CAN'T WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PS: Can you please check the spelling of my surname CALLEJA, thanks

Best way to do things: 1/ Start casually looking now, even with a mate. Just look for general things. This will give you an idea of condition and prices. 2/ Once you have found a car (early next year) get someone here to have a look. There are plenty of ppl here (myself included) willing to help a fellow Skyline enthusiest. 3/ Just b4 handing over the deposit, take it to a well known w/shop to go over car thoughly. Compresion & leak-down check, suspension & handling check, dyno run and to put it up on a hoist.

Damn, you quoted me b4 i edited my post. Am in a funny mod, sorry didn't mean to imply any shifty business. But it still may be worth looking at buy your own house, at that rental rate.

Ron Mace Pannels Bakers Rd., Coburg Nth (not sure of exact number but somewhere about 85-105) Melways: Map 17, E8 Contact: Marcus M:0421169969 They fixed my car and am very happy with the repair and full respray. OR Contact Troy (YLWGTR2), via PM If he can't do the job, he will point you in the right direction.

$120p/w + bills ($500p/m) damn that's expensive. Times that by 5 tenants, thats $2500p/m for rental, the 5 of you could be paying off you own home at that rate, especially in Reservoir

What Mod Is Next? Getting To The 300rwkw Mark
Al replied to GKTECH's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I can not speak highly enough of cams and head porting, i strongly beleive that such good results are not possible with the std head and this turbo. Denham just think how much potential is still untapped, from your turbo, because of the std rb25 head. If you ever consider a rebuild seriously think about head work. -

All depends on the gear your in. I am not sure, as things get pretty exciting once power comes on (as you would know, with your car), but in second gear i would say about 3-4k rpm -

Can not understand this part.......... I have to agree with you, but as stated, we didn't bother cleaning it up as my goal was to keep it at 250-260rwkw. Vic cleaned it up a little more after this figure was recorded, once he lowered the boost to only acheive about 255rwkw. But i didn't bother getting a print out of this graph . We haven't as yet played with the adj. cam gears (in and ext), this will be done when i desire more power and that wont be till i do the bottom end. -
You may be surprised with the Jaycar Response 2-way 4" spk. Had them installed in my work van, running off head unit, with a 12" powered by an amp. Sounded great. A few years ago they where tested against leading manufacturers and came up on top. Not sure how they will rate now, but may be worth a listen. Just remember, no speaker will sound as good as the display speaker when you put it into your car, as the display speakers are acoustically sealed, and boosted by a high quality amp, some places also have subs hidden behind the board.

XF throttle body. Just relocate the bottle and make new mounts. Or make a custom water bottle.

Oh well, at least it wasn't a R33 The best complement is imitation (something like that )

All up about $3k on head work. That included; r33 s1 Tomei Poncams (256-duration, 8.15-lift), race porting, valve springs, full reco and clearances, cam gears, etc. Ash: This graph was not the final tune as we acheived the goal and lowered the boost to keep the bottom end safe, at 255rwkw. He actually had to back the timing off in this rev range as with his headphones (Forget the name, but the tool used to listen for detonation) he started to hear some slight pinging. He couldn't explain why it happens, but claimed that he has also noticed it on other rb25's. The only common factor is the inlet plenium, as he has tunned other rb25's with aftermarket pleniums and has not had this problem. Not sure if more tunning/dyno runs would have been able to eliminate the fault, but as stated previously we didn't want to push the std bottom end to much. -

The Mafia: I wouldn't know , best ask someone in the trade. There are a few "hidden" mods to acheive that figure, so it is not a case of just bolting up a vg30 ext. housing. I just love the combo because the turbo and eng. still appear to be standard. -

Graph below Turbo is just a rb25 hi-flow with the slightly larger VG30 exhaust housing. Bolts on just like the std turbo, with absolutely no modifications -
I myself liked the std burgundy colour, but when i was forced to paint the car i decided to make it better

WTF! My stock looking rb25/vg30 hi-flow combo makes 270rwkw at 15psi. Boost intially spikes to 17psi but just b4 it makes peak power (@6300rpm) it has dropped down to 15psi. The curve is then almost dead flat (@270rwkw) till the rev limiter (7200rpm). For now we have dropped the boost down, to acheive about 255rwkw, to ensure the std bottom end lasts a year (hopefully ). Once the bottom end requires a rebuild, i plan to run about 20psi, adjust the inlet and outlet cam gears and fine tune the ecu (only a couple of runs where done to acheive the 270, there was still a lot of room for some better tunning, but i was happy with the result and didn't want to push the std bottom end too hard, with too many dyno runs). Also the Wolf is able to keep the boost stable by adjusting it per rpm range. This will be done when the bottom end is strengthened. Hopefully i will be then tickling the 300rwkw mark B) Beutty of it all............... Still looks like a very lightly tunned rb25. You can only spot the Nismo adj fuel reg (only because of the adjustment bolt), fmic, oil cooler, custom air box and turbo-smart plumb-back BOV. The rest is 100% stock looking, apart from a little powder coating. -
Just accept facts; BURGUNDY

Hey Dezz, Do you live in the Western Suburbs? I can give ya a lift up, but i am leaving early Friday afternoon (probably about 4pm) and coming back Sunday (time unknown ). If you are interested give me a PM, to sort out details.

White looks nice but i personally prefer dark rims, then you don't have to worry about brake dust . Dark rims also match the window seals and tints

Had a job in Shep, on Monday, and saw the motel. The rooms he is booking us in are enclosed and can not be seen from the street, which is very good. But to get into this area you need to pass through the reception driveway, which is raised, just be careful as bumpers may scrap. Also spoke to him about multiple cars per room, should not be too big an issue as we can park behind another car, planning required but should be managable. I have booked a room for two nights, Fri & Sat. I have one spare bed for Sat. night. So if anyone is coming up on Sat. morning and needs a bed just send me a PM .
