My first sentence still stands, better check that this type of system has not been patented / copywrited. The system I saw 2-3yrs ago, at car shows (such as Show Off, in Melbourne) controlled every feature of the car. Things I remember: (Most the features I have forgotten) - Pin security to start car - Alarm - GPS tracking and control via mobile - About 4-6 cameras monitoring the car internally/externally on a 4hr loop recording - The unit controlled doors; convertible roof; hood; boot; climate control; audio/visual; cruise; ecu; boost; and a whole lot of other stuff I have since forgotten.

From the poll it looks like we have 13 very nerdy Skyline drivers

This has already been done and launched about 2-3yrs ago, not sure what the business was called. Controlling any aftermarket ecu is a simple matter. Mount a typical touch screen to dash, attach a laptop(hidden under dash or seat), load provided software and use the ecu's data cable. One can then mount the DVD drive in glove box and could easily set up a removable hard drive to upload any type of media files from your home computer.

Controll against scammers
Al replied to Al's topic in Site discussion - including Ideas/Feedback & Bugs
Ash that is absolute BS!I am suggesting that newbies can not sell untill a criteria is meet. This has nothing to do with sponsors, as the sponsor will not send the goods until they have received payment. I am just trying to stop scammers claiming they have all these goods and buyers being ripped off. Also, if a legit business wants to join the forum, has donated and has provided enough business details (ABN, address, contacts, etc), then i am sure PRANK can wavier the 3 month period. I do not intend to stop a newbie from BUYing items, as there is generally no risk to the Seller, as the seller usually does not send the item unless payment has been made, or COD arranged. -

Al replied to master 32's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
Master 32: I don't beleive you have read the "for sale" rules. You must give a price and it would be better to add a full and clear discription. -
I didn't get it. I was reading it as: Da Flavoured R Now i know what it means....................HELL NO!

May be interested in at least 2 FMIC, when do you need to know?

riggaP: In all honesty i do not know what a thrust bearing looks like, so i am not sure. But they a pretty cheap to buy, about $15 if i am not mistaken. Cefiro_PWA: Read my first post, what does a "new" clutch have to offer that mine doesn't? I am also throwing in a freshly machined (never used after machining) std flywheel, with a "new" one you would have to get your own flywheel machined. The Pressure Plate has been tested by Xtreme clutches then given the OK and rated as stated above. The clutch plate is BRAND NEW, it is a "ceramic sprung button". So please inform us all of the extra advantage, over my item, unless of course you can get a better clutch for cheaper.

Makes me wonder why the hell kids pinch these badges  If it read "Skyline" i would understand (but would bash the living daylights out of the kid, if it cought them), but the badge says "NISSAN" big f**ken wop-dee-do!

Hey RiggaP, i am about to sell my previous single plate clutch that i used b4 going twin. Details: - Pressure plate checked and tested all OK. 900-1000kg clamping pressure. - New Xtreme clutch plate. I beleive it is a 7 puck, ceramic/brass button combination. NOT a full brass button, so it is drivable. Never installed/used. - Newly machined std flywheel (saves you the hassle) The above clutch combination was reco'ed purely for the purpose to sell it and get some money back. Asking about $450-$500 for the lot. Call if interested: 0427 076490

I beleive that the R33 GTR bonnets are a little longer (from the windsreen to the grill) than the GTS.

Greg if you suspect it could be a bad batch of BP fuel, can't you get a sample tested and if proven take it up with the BP servo? I have previous heard of ppl being financially compensated, when it was proven that the fuel caused the failure. Of course you would require the fuel receipt to prove time and date of purchase. A little off topic (sorry Greg): I have a 2lt surge tank/swirl pot with an external Bosch 044 pump and the std in-tank pump filling the surge tank. Just had a thought; is it worth moving my fuel filter to the line feeding the surge tank? This idea came to me while reading the previous posts. If my filter was to temporarily get blocked the bosch pump will still have 2ltrs of fuel to draw from, by which time the blockage may pass. In the current set-up, if the filter becomes blocked, the engine will run learn till the blockage clears.

19" wheels, good or bad??
Al replied to Rhinorebel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
You point may be valid, but with my std rims, my speedo was was out, when i first put on my 19" i had a speed check done on a dyno from 50-120km/h, @ 10km/h intervals, and found my speedo had become more accurate. ie: When the speedo showed 70 i was actually doing 69 and when the speedo showed 110 the dyno read 108. Needless to say i was pleased with the result . -
The ecu is definately a major problem. Without tuning the ecu you are risking blowing you 12 months worth of work. Have you had it dynoed yet? What is the air/fuel ratio? what is the inj duty cycle? With any turbo upgrade you need to first change ecu, inj, and pump. If you want to take full advantage of the turbo.

Any pics ZigenGT? My car comes out of the paintshop on Saturday, but then goes straight to my mechanic, for some performance touches Will post up pics (in another thread) once all completed, can't wait. Hopefully by early next month it will be all finished.

19" wheels, good or bad??
Al replied to Rhinorebel's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Well if you intend to burn your rubber, i suggest you stick with 17's. Also you could pick up a great set of 19", Hankook silica Ventus tyres, for about $290-$330 each tyre. Most fuel is generally consumed when taking off. Also 19's are generally heavier, so more fuel is used. This is based on my experience from the last 2.5yrs and also my mate's report after using them for 2 months (my car was off the road).
