Sounds great! May not use the dyno myself, as i have not done any recent modifications, but i will still come down, if work permits.

Hey Steve, The best place to meet fellow skyline peps are on cruises and meets. We've had a few westie meets and heeps of cruises. So just come down and join in. I live in Delahey, so hopefully we will catch up soon! Alan

Have a mates b'day, starts at 6pm, so i can't make it
-
That's the price you buy it from the "retailer", no savings there. I too have a wolf 3D, my car is a manual. Also tuned at Rank Rotary, with some finner idle adjustments done at EAS Performance.

I got mine done just b4 the autosalon, when i did my suspension work, can't remember exactly but it was round the $350 for all 4 gaurds. And yes i am aware that JMS do them for $50ea, and i argued this point to no avail.
-
Is this a fact, or are you asking the question
-
What trpe of battery did you buy?
-
Well i rang around and found The Mag Wheel centre in carlton. They are VERY expensive but do a great job. They apparently roll gaurds on mercs, bemmers, porches, and all other show competition cars. At the end of the day, The Tyre Factory recommended them and i believe that if a rival company directs business to them, The mag wheel centre must have a damn good reputation. PS: Don't know the contact details, but i am sure they are listed.

I may be on-call that weekend , but if it is quiet i will see ya there!

ROUND 2, Their response and my reply Posted on Fordmods: MY REPLY:

Try Battery World, just off Mickleham Rd, Tula., or another one located on the Hume Hwy, near the western ring road exit/entry. Not sure of their exact addresses, but you should be able to find them in the yellow pages. Have you considered a Gel-Cell battery? Yes they are twice the price but have at least 4 times the cranking power of any traditional battery, of the same dimensions. I myself use an Optima battery, but Odassy are also very good. Just enquire about these batteries when you visit a shop and weigh up the pros and cons.

Isn't there any mid semester breaks? Either way would like to see approximately which dates are more convinient for a cruise/event.
-
Just trying to find out when Uni students would be able to attend another event, between now and December, without it clashing with exams, etc. Please vote on the pole and post the prefered dates. Thanks Alan

Hey Bec, glad to hear you and Chris enjoyed the event. How is Chris's car, regarding the battery problem and his clutch. After the day's event was the clutch still ok or did it get worse. If we could get all vids and pics on one dvd i would be more than happy to pay for a copy .

I got wind of the FordMods forum bagging us for out dominance at DECA, so i decided to reply back. I registered as a user and quoted one post then replied to it. This is what i wrote : What a GREAT day! I was great to mix it up with other enthusiests. But i ask you to respect the cars and not the badge. This has turned into a very humerous post and i can not believe the level of BS being spun to justify the import dominance. The winner of the sprint circuit/track was a STANDARD R34 GTT (not even a GTR)! The time recorded was 47sec, pritty huge margin in my opinion. Only mods done to the car were a cat. back exhaust and 18" rims. Hardly the so claimed $30K+ worth of mods. Second winner was a R33 GTR, but this to was standard and had a slipping clutch to boot. The only really heavily modified skyline was the silver R33 Mines GTR, but due to the mods made the car more laggy and less than ideal for the events. But we all had fun and enjoyed what we had. I myself got knocked out by Andrew M. in his AU falcon, (toward the final stages) no excusses he was the better driver on that run. I went a little too hard which caused the arse end to step out and once that happened the race was over. I was driving the Burgundy R33 Gtst Skyline. The car that really impressed me was the TE Cortina, the times he was recording were sensational. Maybe a few people from this forum should take a few driving pointers from this guy and find what made this 77/78 model car run circles around the later model fords! Bottom line, if you can only make these pittyful excuses for your short comings, take it home, rebuild it and see ya out there on the next event!

Sorry about that Nick, did not think b4 i typed. As Shivam has stated i thought you were Chris, as he too stated some minor problems with his clutch b4 the event even started. WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS, WE WANT PHOTOS.

Ahhhh, you made me paronoid!, i thought i was speeding (or my speedo was out) and leaving the group behind. Change that battery Nick and check your alternator. Make sure the regulator is not over charging and frying the battery

Gotta admit that black 180 did look sweet, good to see a few other imports from this forum. Did the 180 win any trophies? Otherwise the skylines owned the day's events ! Jarrod my best time had a 2 sec penalty because i hit one witches hat, and i also had a passenger .

REALLY had a GREAT time and not just at the DECA grounds. First time i really cut loose with the car, as i believe there is a time and place to do such things.

:cough: Where is the group photo, you show off? :cough:

WOW! Lost for words, to describe the amount of adrenaline pumping excitement that was enjoyed by all who participated. Truly had an awesome time, and managed to go through a set of rear tyres . A BIG CONGRATULATIONS to Chris (Scottsman) [R33 GTR] for winning best “Overall” (consistent results throughout the whole day), first in “Figure 8 circuit” and 2nd in “Sprint Circuit”. To Adam (Adz) [R34 GTT] for 1st in “NSC challenge”, 1st in "Sprint circuit" and 2nd place "Overall". Also to MinesR33 ( sorry forgot your name  ) [R33 Mines GTR] for winning 3rd “Overall”, second in “NSC challenge” and one more trophy. Needless to say that Skylines Australia dominated the day’s events and had a great time doing it . The Northern Street Cruizers (NSC) club president was extremely pleased with our attendance and how our club members respected the rules set out in the morning. Sorry to those that wanted to be there, but due to their own circumstances, could not make it. Tried to have a chat with all imports, especially skylines, but as soon as I got there I was swapping my rims, then swapped them again, after the first event, because I was getting toooo much understeer on the stockies. Thanks again to everyone that made this weekend so great! This is planned to be a annual event, so hopefully next year we will have even more entrants. Alan PS: sorry for the extreme lack of pictures on my behave, but i was having too much fun to stop and spectate . IF ANYONE HAS ANY FOOTAGE AND PICS CAN YOU PLEASE PM ME AS I WOULD REALLLY LIKE TO GRAB A COPY. WILLING TO PAY FOR MATERIALS (ie:cd)
