should be able to change the idle via the LT12. The mechanical changes probably effected the idle settings, no major issue to adjust back

Drove my car to Canberra, for the summernats (entrant). Early january, with no aircon (wolf 3d bug, know fixed ), windows open, and no stereo as it was useless due to wind and exhaust noises. The drive was still pleasant, and not too harsh.

Being an auto you will have a less quated power output than a manual. If i were you, i would seriously do a little research and see if your car really is illegal for you to drive. Most cops don't know shit about technicalities and would just book you, because most people will not argue the fine.
