I am picking up one other friend, who lives in Gladstone Park (walking distance from the s/c), so it will be no real trouble. PM me if you need a ride.

where to get indicators when putting in new front bar
Al replied to Dragon18's topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
If it is a series two factory indicator assy., have you tried Nissan dealerships? I bought my indicator assy from there and they only cost $75ea. brand new, with same day pick up (ordered at 8:15am picked them up at 4:00). Not bad, especially when car yards wanted at least $120ea. for second hand ones. F#@* they 5h1t me sometimes when they don't know an items true value and try to rip you off with a figure plucked from the sky. -
predator666 Actually when the headlights come on the headunit dims as it appears brighter at night. By dimming it will not distract your vision (so they say ). Be careful, as when it is metered out it does appear as a ground, but it can be your illumination wire, as the tool stated. I had the miss pleasure of doing this and didn't realize ( head unit worked perfectly) till my friend told me his dash and rear night lights didn't light up. Nothing serious, just kept on blowing the dash fuse. Reconnected head unit's black wire to body and problem solved. Thanks for this info. I assume, through my experience, that "black/red, black/white, black/yellow and purple/black" are the -ve wires for each speaker? I am in two minds weather to replace my original unit. It is a factory fitted Alpine double din (two piece) unit. The top unit is you normal (9 yr old) tape/radio with a cd changer. The bottom unit (have no compartment, wich could have come in hand to mount my wolf3d display) is a full graphic eq. (also 9 yr old) with various digital graphs. These are origanal factory optioned as the have inscribed on them, "Alpine Nissfit", even the speakers (which have recently been replaced due to old age and too much bass ) have this logo. The unit also has a keycard sized remote that has a special compartment in the center consile (sp?). Everything is working, but i would like to get more power to my new speakers and am not sure if it has low-level outputs (i am not too keen on using hi-level inputs on an amp.) Any opinions/suggestions/knowledge would be great.

Sorry bud miss read the above. But factory ic's do not have both inlet and outlet holes at the top of each end cap. One is at the top, the other is out the back with an extention pipe. I still have mine from when i fitted the FMIC. Sorry to waste your time Al

Got mine done in Airport west. There is an exhaust place in Webb Str., just off Matthews Ave. Don't recall the name exactly, maybe "professional exhausts" something like that. You can't miss it. Yes, i am very happy with it and sounds great. If you come on the Great Ocean Road cruise on Mon. 10/03/03 you will be able to see and hear it.

On one occation, when i was looking for my car, i spent about 1-2 hours looking over it, finding defects and trying to get a good knowledge of the condition of the car. During this time the owner asked me 3 times "what are you looking for?/ I'm tellin ya the car is perfect and has never been in an accedent" and so on. Basically when it comes to business, trust no one (almost). After finding a few minor faults, i asked him to go for a test drive. His response: "What!, Are you going to make an offer first?!, blah, blah.". I turned around and said: "How the hell can i make an offer if i haven't felt the car on the road, felt how it handles, etc, etc". Basically i got the impresion that this guy was hiding something and was looking for a fool to see the aftermarket gear and blindly buy it, so i told him to keep his car in the driveway and drove back home. So, what i am trying to say is that you have to take the good with the bad and be patient. Generally you can sus out the tyre kickers/joy riders, but if someone looks genuine they will need/want to drive the car b4 making an offer.

Any pics on the fmic, as my mate is looking for one to put on a cappacino email:[email protected] Thanks AL

Never trusted it, never used it. If they can sell it 2c cheaper, then they must be buying some cheapo bodgy fuel. A fiend told me that when they have the 6c "special" they actually buy some cheap crappy fuel.

One mad colour for the R33 is the new ford blue or the blue on the new rav 4 (Both very similar, but i do prefer the rav 4 blue). Seen this done on a R32 gtr and i almost creamed me pants

SmoothLine It is illegal to back out of a carpark, by law we must back into a carpark. Notice how after indicating in a car lot the people behind will give you room and time (most times) to back into the space. But if you are coming out of a car spot it is your responsibility to give way to all traffic, and it is easier to do this when driving forward. If you crash while coming out of a car park it is your fault (No ifs or buts), But if reversing into a spot the person has to give way. :uh-huh:

MzDfectd Glad to hear it, i was getting abit worried. I will look at the melways and vicroads (street directory) to find a couple of places. I am a field tech. so i do alot of driving from place to place and have come across a couple of good roads, but i cannot think of them at this time. Unfortunately the best roads i have driving on (and thought to myself "5h1t i wish i had my 'line" was when i worked in Hobart for 5 weeks I will keep in touch!

If the cooler is mounted securely (sp?) and neatly it should not be a problem. Is the pod partitioned from the engine bay? I have one but i live in the west. You are more than welcome to borrow it. That's why i kept all my stock gear

I am still interested in ashtray, and will definately by straight away (for the right price). PM me if you are willing to sell it. -
I said that the first time i saw a picture, especially in that ford blue colour. I guess the ford designers saw a winning formula and had to copy it . But as they say, a copy is never as good as the original

Wait one sec!! Please do NOT ditch this cruise. Why does it have to be next w/e? Why not plan to make it in a few weeks. I personally love crusing and meeting people that share similar interests. You can never cruise too often!! Keep the dream alive!! (hehe) ps: sorry for hi-jacking your thread, i will now release all the hostages

inark If you rang the insurance, at the time of the accident they would have made a report in their computers. Ring up that insurance company and ask them if they have a record of the claim you made. If they do get the claim number and give this to the judge. At least you would only need to pay for the excess.
-
That is one tough scenario. I would think that the other driver was at fault as she was completing a turn, thus must give way to all moving traffic. I would be inclined to ask vic roads. Man, i hate to say it but it was a bad idea to not resolve the issue asap. Are you able to appeal the finding? If they did not notifiy you how the hell are you suppose to show up for the hearing. I would ask for proof of notification, as that is just BS!! If your insurance company was to take care of it, i would seriously consider seeing a lawer and maybe suing them for not doing their job. Also if you were insured at the time of the accident and it is deemed to be your fault, shouldn't you only need to pay the excess required for a claim at that time, hell that's why you are paying for insurance.

Is it hard to take the dash faccia out and how do you do it?
-
R33NT I have read about this somewhere, is there such a spacer for the R33? If so who sells it and how much does it cost?
-
I would like to remove the square air vent in the middle of the dash, the one just above the hazard switch. Is this possible without taking the dash appart or snapping the fins? I am thinking of mounting a display in the hole and then making the vent as a false cover, to hide it.

That looks so uncomfortable to drive. Hand brake, ceter console, etc are still in RHS positions. I wonder if the hump, on the passenger side floor pan, has been removed.
