Does a vented bonnet allow water into the engine bay when it rains and if so will this affect any electrics and start corrosion of parts?

At the start of this year i went to Camerra and entered my car at Summernats 16 (It was bloody mad and am planning on doing it again next year) Anyway, one particular night i had a few boyz, from my car club, in the car with me. Most of them never been in a skyline, so i decided to show them what true power really feels like . Coming out of the caravan park ( i think it was called the Canberra Lodge, or something like that). I reved it up to 5g's dumped the clutch, fishtailing i then dumped it into second when my mate warned me about a 90 degree bend up the roud. Not knowing how far up (10pm at night) i started to slow down. THAT'S when it happened!! A row of about six red lights lite up the road :goddam: . I immediately applied the brakes (Too late i know, but natuaral reaction!) and looked down at the speedo. At that point the speddo read 40km/h (In a 60 zone), but the 'lines do have awsome brakes. My question is, can those %*#@in speed vans record your speed b4 taking the photo, to get a closer picture? How long can it take for the fine to arrive (Hoping it doesn't) in the mail, to Melb., as i have not received it yet ?

Throughout this year i am slowly buying parts to acheive 300+rwkw's. In an attempt to keep under bonnet temps down i am going to hpc coat or thermanl strap the following parts b4 putting them on the car; Ex. Manifold, IC piping, Plenum, Ex. housing of turbo, Front/Dump pipe. Questions: 1/ Which product is better, hpc coating or thermal straps/covers , and is it worth it to use both? 2/ Any do's and don'ts? 3/ Anything else that i could coat/strap/cover? 4/ Recommendations of certain products/brands and w/shops to do the coating/straps? 5/ Anything else i forgot to ask? All advise would be greatly appreciated and considered THANKS in advance AL

I love my car and every performance aspect of it!! (Previously owned an XF falcon, on gas, with 300,000+ km's on it) But i give respect to the 31's by saying this; The fastest drag time for a street car was done in a r31 powered by a rb30et. This has been a long standing record and has yet to be beaten.

I really want to be there. Hopefully my Line is ready. If not i will try to twist my mates arm to take his Line or another mate to come with his Cappacinoe. If the weather is nice we might take the roof off . Unfortunately no room for anything in the boot when the roof is in there .

A dark pearly type blue did come from factory. It should have a dark grey paint around the bottom of the skirts all around the car. I have seen a few around melbourne, MAD colour (for factory), almost bought one that colour but the owner (private dodgy importer) was asking was too much.

predator666 Every last friday of every month you can go to Calder Park rwy and do 3 laps round the track, also enter the show n shine, for $20. There are other cars and two pace cars at the front. What i always do is go last in line, as the pace cars move off drive extremely slow, then just a they are 3/4 of a lap ahead of you, GUN IT. I got to 180km/h down the straight b4 having to apply the brakes. Is a bit pricey but my club were helping out the organizers so we got free entry and laps. Unfortunately our F###in presidant had a fallin with the organizers and we will have to pay from now on. Will not be their this friday, going to avalon to see a burn out and wet t-shirt comp. But may be there next month.

Is the manifold the same for an rb20 as an rb25? If not sold can you email me some pics? I am after 300+rwkw on my rb25, would this manifold be good for a 600hp roller bearing turbo? You will need to take it to a plastic welder first, then take it to a panel shop to prime it and repaint it. I modified my bar when i put the fmic on, by cutting off the middle strip that holds the number plates. I didn't like the holes that were left (not to mention giving the cops another reason to get my car off the road) so i got them to plastic weld a couple of square blocks in the holes. Even before the bar was painted you couldn't tell were the welds were (from the front), except for the missing paint. Now the bar look factory and for a fraction of the price to get an aftermarket.

Don't go cat back if you are looking for performance. You will need to get a turbo back 3" system, with high flow cat and straight through muffler (less retriction). Australian brands like turbosmart are just as good. I got mine done at an exhaust place in Webb Str., in Airport West (just off Matthews Ave.) Can't think of the name but you can't miss it. Getting everything new allows you to choose how you want your exhaust to sound and look.
