  1. Any stains on the paint work?
  2. So it happened after you removed and refitted the wheel? If so, make sure the hicas sensor arm is poking through the square hole on the rear cover of the wheel.
  3. For a 32 not for a 33. Do you have an aftermarket steering wheel?
  4. The next DECA is DECA Masters, i am yet undecided whether i will have enough confidence to push the car to that level, as it now makes more power/torque and also has a complete new suspension set-up. If entries are low i'll speak to Chris and Andrew and see if they mind me entering for the "fun" of it; thus my intension is not to be competitive but to have fun. Either way i'll be there, if i'm not entered i'll be officaling.
  5. Engine is now fully assembled and sitting in the car. Just need to wire it all up and run it on the dyno again. Hopefully should have it back next week.
  6. Shame you don't know the full story, there is always two sides to every story. - The "rebuilt engine" was purchased off e-bay. - EAS were only paid to remove, and fit the other engine. - They came across ALOT of issues with the engine. - Fixed some, but customer did not have the money for them to strip the head completely and see what was going on. - Upon pick-up, last night before Xmas closure (myself and a few other customers had already started the Xmas party), the customer was warned his "rebuilt" engine was not running right and should be looked at ASAP. - He obviously didn't listen, and decided to boot it. How is a w/shop responsible for another persons fark up? If EAS was only paid to install a dodgey engine, why should EAS bare the cost of rebuilding the head, when they had nothing to do with the build? The person was warned (i was there) and he obviously didn't listen.

    Hi Guys

Hey Mark, Welcome to Vic, the state with the most unpredictable weather. Beautifully one day, who knows the next
  10. For a drift orientated street car i would definitely go the GT35R with a 0.82a/r ext. housing or maybe slightly bigger. I have a fully built rb30det (25 head) with a gt30r and a 0.82a/r ext. housing and it's absolutely awesome. Full boost by 2800rpm and doesn't drop at all till redline. So far it is still in run-in tune (274rwkw@15psi), so i'm not too sure how the turbo will go with 20psi, more timing, cam gear adjustments and an extra 1000rpm: time will tell, but am hoping for about 310rwkw.
  11. Damn it my edit button has disappeared!!
  12. Happy B'day Sararh! Have a good one
  13. They look awesome and set the kit off nicely, top job For those not to scrub you must have a set of bone jarringly stiff suspension, that has no give. The thinks we do for cosmetic styling

  16. Most people have never driven an rb30det, so have no idea what the differences/gains are. When i built my rb30det, i did it in a way that i would have done if i wanted to build an rb25det. I didn't down-grade to a rb25de head and waste more money. The only extra costs to do an rb30 conversion are as follows: - rb30 block = $80-$120 - VCT oil line = $100 Not sure if there was anything else, so lets just add another $200 for the hell of it. Grand total: $400 extra All other mods would have been done on the rb25, if i chose to go down that path, and would have cost just as much. How many rb25's make 140rwkw, in 4th gear at 80km/h? (Mind you this is in run-in tune.) How many 300rwkw rb25's make full boost by 2800rpm? Every rb25 dyno sheet i have seen is making almost half the power and torque in the low rpm range. I have posted my dyno comparisons numerous times, so i'll not post them up again , and the low-mid range is mind blowingly great! Rb30's do not produce greater peak power, just like the rb25 Vs the rb20, peak power is pretty much the same, using the same mods, it's USABLE POWER or the AREA UNDER THE GRAPH that makes the rb30 such an awesome package. People love taking about "band for buck"; so for less than $400 i have doubled the low-mid range torque and power. What other mod can have such a significant impact for the same price? PS: My rb30det will have a rev limit set to 8000rpm; the only thing that will change this is if the turbo runs out of puff before then, as i have fitted the smallest recommended turbo.
  17. After building my rb25/30 my mechanic turned the key using the old rb25 tune (wolf3D). The car started idled without issue, but not sure if it would have driven, i pretty sure my mechanic would have drove it on the rollers, but he wouldn't have driven out out the garage. You would probably have better luck, fitting std injectors to your current rb26, fitting all the std bolt-ons and using your std ecu. Provided your cams aren't ridiculously lumpy, it should run fine.
  18. Redliner007 sorry to say mate; reliable, power and cheap do not get used in the same sentence. My build has thus far cost me about $12,000; this was with the rb25 head already ported, cam'ed upgraded and reco'ed (ie: Head not touched during this build). My target was 300rwkw, which is plenty for a rwd car. So if you want to make a reliable 350rwkw, make sure you have deep pockets, as you'll wont get much change from $20,000, to go from what you have now to what you want. This is provided that someone else is doing the work for you, if dong yourself you will save maybe a quarter of that. PS: I would personally use a GT35R (0.86a/r), if i was aiming for over 320rwkw.

  23. Very true, but you also know they are made to a much higher standard, as mentioned above.
