  1. Just a couple of quick ones. The one with the 3 tale lights could work if the same quality images were used. I just used the ones off this thread. If the tail lights were photographed with the same digi camera, under same light, from the same distance. Just throwing ideas, if people like them then i'll take it further and organise a 32 and 34 to get pics. I personally prefer to get away banners that cut and past images of jap w/shop cars from the net, or depict a certain model (33, 34, 32, GTR, GTS, etc).
  2. 450hp is considered not too much now-a-days? Have you ever driven a 450hp car? - Start with a set of cp pistons and spool rods, i believe Spoolup sells them at a great price For the price you pay for NEW std pistons and shot-pinned rods, you may as well go for forged items. Serious question: Do you plan on using the standard bonnet or are you intending to get one fabricated? I know the rb26 JUST fits into the bay and some nipping of the std bonnet frame is required to stop it rubbing. An rb30 block sits an inch taller, so you either have to customise engine mounts and cross-member, to lower engine, gearbox, etc. or you somehow get a new bonnet fabricated. Having lost your license could also mean that you may be in the police "radar" when you get it back, thus being pulled over for "random" checks more often. Just some things to consider before making the final decision to do such a huge conversion into a 180sx.
  3. Didn't realise it was every Tuesday. See you all at the next one, if i'm not working
  4. Hub spacers not legal, but neither are those rims: so it doesn't really matter Both front and rear rims need a bigger offset. With the GTR guards you could have gone with a deeper dish all round: 19x9.5 (all round). Those rims would sit fine on a GTST with std guards.
  5. Hope you're not polishing the intake side
  6. TORQUE! It's all about the cubes and size does matter!
  7. Pfft rear bar is untouched
  8. Nope Car wont go in for another week or so, but i am doing as little km's as possible in this block as i prefer to bed everything in the new block.
  9. Damn it! Just saw this now, was it posted elsewhere? Wouldn't have cruised as engine still needs to be bedded in, but i would have come to the carpark. Too late now When is the next one?
  10. I still believe you are yet to find the issue If the motor has been damaged, you'll be getting a lot of blow-by and if all your plumbing is std that will all go into your intake, through the turbo and into the ic piping, etc. When i cracked a piston ring land, the car sounded normal to my ears, ran and came on power normally. But as soon as my mechanic heard it idle up his driveway he knew straight away. My only indications were a small puddle of oil under the pod filter, after a track session, and it was harder to start in the mornings. On the other hand it can be turbo seals. So do a compression test and that would confirm the fault. If all 6 cylinders have similar figures, than your turbo seals are stuffed, if one cylinder is really lower (20+psi) than the others then its engine rebuild time.
  11. At your place? I'll just post up the address for those that don't know it
  12. Oh shit: Sorry Ben didn't read the full title and missed it was your b'day as well. Hope you had a great one mate
  13. Good work. For the money you have already spent i would complete the picture and invest in a set of Type B (may be called stage 2) Tomei Poncams. Direct bolt in, no fuss, and gives great advantages over std cams. I think they are about $800 landed. Both the turbo and manifold have to be split pulse designed to work. I think it's about 500rpm more responsive than the std snails, if not a little more. Just helps bring on the bigger turbos a little quicker.
  14. Happy B'day Jarrod! Have a good one mate!
  15. Agreed All well and good in a professional championship (with prize money, sponsorship, etc at risk) to keep a tight lip, but for club level track events that's just being silly. I have cusco upper control arms (front and rear) and plan to run 3.5deg(f) and 1.5® once i start doing a few track days, in the near future. Found this self wheel alignment measuring tool on Import Monster: LINK HERE It will cost about $230 landed. Can anyone tell me if it is any good; if it is good value; if i can get something similar from here and if there is an English software version? Thanks
  16. The GT3540 should be more than sufficient to make 350rwkw, as it's rated at 700hp, same as a T04Z. Hopefully you have purchased the 0.83A/R split-pulse housing, to maintain some response. With the right supporting components, you should make the power easily. - cams - GReddy plenum - Larger t/b - Split-pulse top mount manifold (split pulse is more responsive) - Injectors - etc
  17. Happy b'day. Hope you had a great day and an even better night

    Tuf 732's Rant

Open the boot and check to see if the spare wheel is hard to pull out or tight in the well. If it is, the floor is crumbled and needs to be pulled back out.

That sucks! Get it checked properly, you may need: - rear bar skin (S1 and S2 are the same) - rear bar reo - rear tail lights (if mounts are broken or rear plastic cracked) - rear "SKYLINE" fascia (if mounts are broken) - repairs to rear quarters, boot lid, and tail gate. May take time and a bit of work to do it properly. If it's not done right you'll keep having on going issues with water in your tail light indicators.
  20. Paul is right. Basically a HKS turbo will spool a little faster and may make a little more power than any Garrett "equivalent". Whether the extra $'s is worth the minor gains is debatable. With 300rwkw, the a 2.2ltr engine will always be laggy. The GT3076R (0.83A/R) MAY achieve your power goal, but is boarder-line. Also depends on your other bolt on pieces; such as exhaust manifold, intake plenum, throttle body, etc. and these parts need to be of good quality and not these ebay copy shit. If the other two turbos have a lower power rating than the GT3076R, than don't bother considering them, if you're firm about having 300rwkw.
  21. Ah true. But polishing is still useless as it will have no measurable gains. Porting the plenum runners to gasket size will be beneficial only if the head was ported to the same size.
  22. Dale PM sent, prefer to discuss in private, but i stand by what i wrote. MintR33: Pretty much. I know we had to gently bend one of the tubes, coming out of the reservoir, but that was more to do with clearing the turbo. The lines did reach without modification, but obviously do not sit in the natural position, but this was fine as the lines are still not kinked.
  23. Think he is talking about internally porting and polishing the plenum. To answer the question: Don't do it. Waste of time and may even go backwards. It is well known that polishing intake runners is not a good move. As the fuel spray/mist hits the polished surface, it form droplets, which may cause idling issues, etc. The course surface of the inlet runner causes minor turbulence which helps the fuel remain as an "even" mist, as it enters the combustion chamber. PS: Nothing wrong with having a clean and well presented engine bay.
  24. Thanks fellas. Ali does the GTR power steering reservoir look familiar? Just misses the turbo by about 5mm
