  1. Thanks a lot buddy! I appreciate the feed back, especially when it's as good as that
  2. Fair enough. My mechanic's shop is next to to a engineering shop and we used one of the off cuts . Some black pieces are powder coated, others are painted. Basically anything that had parts that could melt were painted; this includes the cam cover, CAS, inlet cam gear, etc. Parts like the strut brace brackets, power steering reservoir, fuel rail, oil cooler mounts, and all other brackets, etc were powder coated. All the charcoal colour items are powder coated as well as the red cam covers.
  3. Mine now sits behind the front bar (inside the guard) with a tube coming through, into the engine bay: Refer to intake side pics, above. I think the bottle is off a Honda Prelude or Accord.
  4. Thanks Chris! No probs in coping it either. In fact i'll give you some info on how it's constructed. The shield is actually two halves. The front half (covering the turbine) is cut from a 6" aluminum tube, and is held on the turbo by a bracket that bolts onto the exhaust flange bolts. This cover also has two threaded tabs that allow the rear half (covering the dump pipe) to bolt on to. The rear half is made from sheet aluminum that has been shaped and cut to curve around the dump pipe.
  5. Well my car has just been on the road for a week, and i am very happy with the final result. During Build: Finished Product: The bay was done in that style and using those colours, to match my exterior:
  6. What car were these fitted to? Any pics of the wheels fitted to the car (front/side/rear/diagonal/etc)? Did they clear the calipers without spacers?
  7. Exactly what i was about to ask
  8. Have you done the basics, before turbo? - ecu - fmic - fuel pump - etc If not scrap the turbo idea and do the above first, these will unleash the full potential of your current setup and for the turbo upgrade later. Without doing the above, you'll be VERY limited in the power increase. PS: Hope you're not buying some cheap shit China turbo or a truck turbo That would be a waste of your money and Ray's time.
  9. Pics will not show anything, as the oil just weeps out of the side of the block.
  10. Hey Ferah, no conclusions were made and no offense taken. Sounds like what i wrote has drawn a misleading picture, hopefully i haven't now offended you as that was not my intension. Tai a well deserved award mate, congrates
  11. The repair of the hole has been lightly discussed over the phone, but i personally would feel more comfortable with the block replaced, especially for the fact that it is only going to cost me time and maybe a set of piston rings. As you have stated; i too am not convinced that a pin-hole would appear without a crack on the other side. Which still means that the machinest hadn't done his job properly, when crack testing the block. Don't know how it happened, but i do know that it is not located near any fittings. PS: Haven't seen my mechanic since Wednesday morning; has the sway bar been repaired and sent back? It had not arrived yet, by the time i left at 11am.
  12. Haha.....no offence was taken As stated, the whole weekend was way too hot, just to walk round and talk to everyone in the stand. Hope others didn't get offended by most of the SAU crew staying put under the shade of the SAU macque, but it was one of the only means of escape from the sun I'm sure there'll be other events, etc, where we'll all catch up.
  13. Same rims but in bronze. Just thought that seeing them on another purple GTR would help you picture how HOT these rims really are
  14. Damn Adam, that looks pretty bad Glad to hear you're OK. First time i've seen the car with those rims, and now it's bent like a banana. Hope the insurance process is as smooth as it can be. All the best!
  15. My mechanic's details are below.
  16. Thanks Rob! My track rims look like the ones in the Av, the colour also looks pearly in the Av. It has big brakes, no wing, same grill, tinted windows, etc. Just the front bar is different, and that's because i don't want to shatter a fibre glass bar if i hit a cone at DECA, etc.
  17. As soon as you said your name you turned to your friends and walked off. I even said bye to you as i was driving out, and you had this "pffffft wtf" look on your face; as if it just tried to pick you up. I must admit, i cnbf walking through the stand today, due to the heat. I was disappointed with the placement of SAU, as it appeared that we were chucked in the far corner, away from everyone. The excuse was to be closer to the dyno, but hardly anyone from SAU wanted to go on the dyno.
  18. Al

    Nos

Sorry to say you are incorrect. Having ANY part of a NOS system installed in a Victorian street car is illegal and you could be fined $2000 PER CYLINDER. That's a $12,000 fine for an rb engine.
  19. Hey Ferah, that was me you were talking to when you asked for Mav. After i asked for your name, you kind of turned off to the girls, so i didn't bother introducing myself Notice the similarities between my car and the pic in my avatar
  20. Thanks. Will keep you informed, but run-in may take longer than expected .
  21. Yep, shouldn't be an issue. What wax did you use on your car. Looks like any bug that landed on it died instantly.
  22. I honestly think the $1000 is damn worth it. But it really depends how much you want to spend on rims. But if you can't afford those rims, these look awesome too.
  23. Have no intension on spending more money, so unless he is willing to do it for free, i have no need to speak to him Spoke to two engine machinists and also an avionics engineer, that builds and repairs aircraft engines, all have stated that a pinhole in the block is almost impossible to see/find. A crack is different as it is bigger, etc., but a pin-hole would not show up on the x-rays or sonic tests. Either way, i bought the block through my mechanic, so it is still being replaced, at no expense to me. But i will seriously consider buying the piston rings and passing the other info onto my mechanic, even though i am confident in his abilities.
  24. I was about to say: you were there and didn't introduce yourself? We were sitting under the SAU black marque, just behind the cars.
