  1. Airbags and handling do not get used in the same sentence If you want to airbag, you want a "show" style car. Looks good, pimp, but is only a cruiser If you want it to handle through the twisties, stick with coil-overs. You standard suspension will handle better than airbags
  2. On closer inspection Craig has a valid point. Looking at your pic the flap is off centre to the machined hole.
  3. **This is only my opinion and not sure if it is right or not** An IW has no seals, so it is just metal-to-metal, thus you'll always get some leakage as it is not 100% sealed. It is also a well known fact the Ext wastegates produce better response, hence the leakage and seals theory. In short if you want a screamer pipe, you need to go external
  4. Agreed.. N1 oil pump - good N1 water pump - don't bother for a street car
  5. Thanks fellas Yep GT30R Still a fair few items to be fitted and fabricated, but should be on the road in about 2 weeks or slightly less.
  6. That sucks Couldn't he just tell you the code and you just use that same code? If you are in VIC let me know and i'll direct you to the best Wolf tuners in your area. Also if you have any questions drop us a PM and i'll see if i could help you out. Hope you didn't pay the asking price, seemed pretty high
  7. I have used Poncams with a GTRS and am still using the poncams with my new setup. I think they are great!
  8. Either that or MAJOR head mods required to fit; possibly also need to go solid lifters
  9. Maddo: If you plan to do track work, then i would also lean towards getting a ATI balancer. Yes it is under driven, but at high rpm you reduce the risk of damaging water, power steering and the alternator. Also you are going through the expense of building a new engine, why put on the std balancer that has 15yrs of wear and vibration Just my opinion and the reasons i bought my ATI balancer. r_speedfreak_r: i can't understand why you'd even consider tampering with the ROSS balancer. They would be designed and balanced to perform the task and any modifications to such a vital component would be very risky. As i stated earlier, you should have no issues reseting the pulley on the p/steering pump. Geoff: Nice work mate. Hope QLD is treating you and your Mrs well. All the best. Just a progress pic
  10. Update: Engine build is almost complete Still alot of fabrication required, but should be ready in 2 weeks!! For those that haven't seen my car or can't remember it, some old pics. These will be updated in a couple of months.
  11. The "c bits" are made up. I dare say they bolt up using the factory bolts, 2 bolts on each side. But judging from the quality of work they may also be welded on, unable to tell from the pics.
  12. You have a NON STANDARD (read:home made) reo. Damn that looks bad/unsafe. You'll need to fit the std reo, then fit the front bar. reo=Reinforcement Bar. The metal bar that sits just below your head lights and is attached to the car by those shitty "c-channel" bars.

    Sump Plug.

So they holicoiled the thread, while the sump was still mounted on the engine and refilled the oil. What happened to the metal filings (if any)? Are they still floating in the sump? That is just a farken joke. I go to EAS Perfomance, info in my sig below, have been taking my Skyline there for the last 6-7yrs, without drama.
  14. Phil (interloper) is 100% right. Shell100 is an ethanol based fuel, ethanol burns faster, which causes the fuel mixtures to go LEANER. So unless your ecu is tuned for ethanol it will be slightly learner, which is not ideal for track use. If the ecu is tuned for ethanol, the fuel will definitely be beneficial and also reduce the likely hood of knock. If your car is tuned for the premium 98RON fuel, just through in a bottle of GOOD octane booster, as a safe guard.
  15. The only thread anyone ever needs: CLICK HERE Yes like so many before you, you'll need to have a read through that thread to find all your answers GOOD LUCK! EDIT: Beat me to it
  16. Agreed. The turbo is just too small. I had a GTRS, till recently. 19. I think it looks tops!! The texta has obviously been clear coated, just like any other paint job And to answer your original question Shan: YES Just not as good
  20. The official letters i and past entrants have recently received indicate clearly that there will only be one Melbourne Autosalon in October. I dare say the web site is incorrect
  21. HAPPY B'DAY KAZ! Hope you get what you wanted!!
  22. Is your ROSS balancer a rb26 unit? I found with my ATI RB26 balancer i had to reset the rb25 p/steering pulley about 4-5mm forward, to align it with the balancer, and welded it to the shaft for extra support (normally the pulley is just an interference fit). As the rb26 also uses thicker belts the balancer barely missed the rb25 engine fan by about 1mm, so my mechanic machined up a 10mm spacer (similar to a wheel hub, with locating rings) to move the fan forward, closer to the radiator.

    Happy Birthday Mav!

Happy B'day Mav!!! Hope you're ready to forget everything by the end of the night C ya soon
  24. On pump fuel, i am going to be using 20psi MAX. The quality and consistency of Australian pump fuel is not the best. On race fuel, boost could be wound up much higher.
