Shipping Wheels Interstate... What To Use?
Al replied to BB GoDZilLa's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I have received tyres through Greyhound Bus Freight. Items are delivered to the nearest bus depot where the buyer can pick them up or for a small extra fee get them delivered to their door. Found them cheap, quick and reliable. Greyhound Bus Freight Link -
I know exactly what you mean. Went through the same phase, but kept my 33GTST body kit stock as the fibre glass bars would smash to pieces when i hit witches hats at motorkahnas, etc Now i am going through the same type of phase again, this time mechanically, as i blew my engine in Feb '07 and the car is still off the road. Should be back soon though.

Welcome Alex, Awesome looking car mate It's funny how a car comes out 10X better after an accident; mine included We are never happy to spend all that money and time, just to restore it to it's original glory, always wanting to go to the next level Well at the very least you MUST come to the Macedon cruise, that usually happens early-mid year, but hope to see you and your car before then. Good luck! Alan

Hey Daniel, There are a few branded (ARC, etc) cooler kits that have piping returned to the factory holes. BUT If you already have the cooler and just want pipes made then i highly recommend EAS Performance, details in my sig. They have done all my custom fabrication, on my 33GTST, for the last 7yrs. Below is an old pic, but he has done all the ic piping, brake booster stopper, oil cooler brackets and the air box. The pic is just to show you his work, i do realize that you do not want the piping in this manner. The new engine setup, is going to have heaps more fabrication, but unfortunately has not yet been completed.

Powdercoated/painted Stock Plenums/crossover Pipes
Al replied to **JaR**'s topic in Exterior & Interior Styling
Plenum and Pipes are "precious silver" (but look light grey in pics ) Cam covers are "flame red" My new engine will have the same cam covers, but the greddy plenum and piping will be "precious steel pearl", like my rims. -

He has already eliminated the ecu by changing it.

Best to get the car taken to Racepace. If the guy is serious about selling the car, he should have no hesitation taking it to a very well known and trusted w/shop.

Dave did you disable your ATTESSA at DECA?

ABSOLUTELY AWESOME!!!! May i ask what ron fuel you are using? I know for a fact the pump fuel in Europe is 100X better/cleaner than Aussie fuel Can you please post up a dyno graph, or two? Can't understand why keeping the ignition on has caused such a huge problem, unless the fuel pump is wired to work continuously and has heated the fuel too much or even burnt the pump? Don't know just theorizing with my limited knowledge. I assume changing the plugs was the first thing you did...

Fark my bad, they must have come down in price. When i saw them last they where about $130ea, was about 2years ago I mounted the gauges myself and got my mechanic (who is a qualified auto elec) to install the sensors and wire them up.
-
Who is Ali? I use these and haven't had a problem, they are also "smoked gauges" unfortunately i could only find "ON" pics. JustJap $79ea, but i bought them as a deal: 3 gauges and a 3 gauge DIN mount for $190 delivered. Link here They are a couple of degrees out, but who cares, as long as they are roughly accurate. The main thing is: They give consistent readings. The DRFT gauges are of the same quality anyway, so their accuracy may not be any better.

Thanks BU5TER It obviously depends alot on the power graph too, as it may be useless to rev to 8000rpm. I left out the turbo on purpose, as i am using a "baby" turbo for this setup: GT30R I plan to do alot of motorkahnas/hill-climbs and a few track days, so response has always been my main goal. Hoping for 290-330rwkw with the response better than that of an rb25 hi-flow turbo on a std rb25.

Is yours reving to 10600rpm? Sorry i am about to go slightly off topic If so: what prep work have you done to the bottom end? Not talking basics like forgies, balancing, etc. Things like titanium rods?; internally harmonically balanced? (ie: rebalance the crank, rods, piston, etc assembly while assembled in the block); anything else? Reason i ask: I am in the process of building a rb25/30: Cams, valve springs, extensive professional head porting, 3 angle grind on valves, greddy plenum, q45 tb, ETM high mount manifold, cp forged piston, REV rods, ATI harmonic balancer, N1 oil pump, H.E. competition race sump, GTR race bearings, etc, etc............... (you start to get a clear picture) Now with all these components (and obviously all the prep work) i was hoping to have a rev limiter set to 8000rpm. Considering a std rb25 revs to 7400rpm factory, i thought a well built, strong rb25/30 would have no problem with 8000rpm. But my mechanic is hesitant to set the rpm limiter there, due to the longer stroke of the 3ltr and claims that the block would have to be rebalanced internally, once assembled, which costs a few thousand extra (something i am not willing to pay). He explained his concerns about harmonic distortion/frequencies at rpm's above 7000 on a rb30. Just wanted you opinion on the matter and whether you think my mechanic is being too cautious? Of course you have to assume that my mechanic knows what he is doing and that the work is of high quality; i for one am obviously certain it is .

They look good but are VERY over priced

Pics speak a million words IMPUL did release a few variants.

Don't know how you could read that. the print is too small for me

Awesome driveline, this thing will definitely be an animal down the strip. BUT you have failed to mention anything about the most crucial components for all forms of racing: SUSPENSION setup. What have you done in this department? Even with the right components, it's going to take alot of fine tunning to get it all working properly. 9's are a definite possibility, provided you can get the car to hook up off the line. Good Luck! and keep us posted on your progress.
