    Happy Bday Tx5!

Happy B'day Scott!! Hope you got what you wanted and a little more. All the best mate, see ya at DECA
  2. I don't think you'd want the solenoid in the cabin: the clicking noise, from the pulsing, would drive you crazy
  3. Option 1 for sure. Just ask yourself: If the 2nd car (burgundy) has the following comment: "Unregistered Vehicle needs VIV to be put on road. Car in very good condition no work needed." why doesn't he just get the VIV himself and sell it for more $$$'s. Answer: There is more to than meets the eye and is probably not worth the hassle. Also I believe: For a car to require a VIV cert. some MAJOR structural damage must have occurred. Removing interior does not justify a "statutory write-off". Someone may know a little more about this, than myself, but i have a feeling that car was written off and repaired.
  4. Do you really know what you're talking about? Regarding the 2835, i hope you're talking flywheel horsepower as there is no way you'll make 400kw, let alone more. I've had the HKS GTRS on my car and it never surged. I personally think the GTRS is the best compromise between power, lag/response and street drivablity. I made 270rwkw; with cams and head porting.
  5. In what car? I doubt you could manage that in a late model Skyline power-to-weight. Also Having worked at Calder and gone to a few Heathcote days, you also see quite a few glitches in the trap speed. Where you doing 120+mph speeds consistently?
  6. Even with an rb30, the turbo (kkr) is still shit. You'll make more power, better response, and use less psi; if you use a Garrett/HKS/Trust/Apexi/etc turbo. I am currently building an rb30det and am using a Garrett GT30R (500hp). I am expecting this combo to be more responsive than a rb25 hi-flow, on a rb25; yet make 300-330 rwkw .
  7. that's 4 mph short and not in an R33
  8. For 115 MPH you need to make somewhere between 250-2800rwkw, have the car set up properly(suspension, tyres, etc) and know how to drag properly.
  9. I beg to differ. This guy is making 219rwkw using 19psi and only making full boost at 4500rpm: That is complete SHIT!! A turbo that only makes 220rwkw should be on full song by 3300rpm. That power is equal to a hi-flowed rb25 turbo at 15psi and look how responsive those are; WITH A STD MOTOR. Not to mention the extra boost required with the KKR shit, is putting more stress on the rest of the motor and creating more heat. I have previously heard these KKR turbos were laggy, for the power they produce; this has just settled the debate. At the end of the day they are another cheap, China shit turbo that are inefficient and can't make the power with acceptable response. HKS KKR
  10. maybe one of the mechanics
  11. 295RWHP@19psi, with fully boost at 4500rpm = VERY SHIT TURBO!! For a turbo to make full boost at 4500rpm i would expect it to be pretty damn big and make at least 330rwkw (450rwhp)
  12. Have you fitted these to a Skyline? If so GTR or GTST? WHAT CAR WERE THESE FITTED TO?
  13. Why would you want to: "prevent air from being forced into the pod"? I agree with the rest, but unclear with the benefits of the first part. Very NICE 40th Ed. Great work getting one fully optioned
  14. I have one single available for Friday & Saturday nights. Let me know if anyone is interested.
  15. Thanks all! Looks like i'll stick with 19x9.5 and 265 tyres. I have a 3-layer pearl red paint job (similar to Candy Apple Red), and do not fancy respraying the whole car just for rims
  16. Happy b'day Snowy! Have a good one mate!
  17. So you have replaced your stock rear muffler? If so put the pod on (if you like) as you have already broken the law, and if a cop is going to get you for the pod, he'll get you for the muffler too. Pods, mufflers, extractors, fmic, etc are ALL considered as performance enhancing mods.
  18. I am keen on buying new rims, but need to know what is the widest i can go. I know that 19x9.5 will fit on the rear of my R33 GTST But The same rims also come in 19x10.5. Given the right offset, will these fit under the standard 33 GTST rear guards, without hitting/rubbing on any suspension components, inner guard, etc? If so; what is the right offset? The height from center of hub to arch is 340mm (unloaded) and the guards have been previously rolled (not flared). I am NOT willing to make any more modifications to the guards, just want to know if 10.5" wide rims would bolt straight up, without any hassles. Obviously with 10.5" rims, i'll be running 275 or 285 tires. Your help is appreciated
  19. It is an engine mod that is seen as though it "can" increase kw rating by 1kw, thus if you get pulled over by a cop that knows his stuff, you will get done. You obviously know the rules, otherwise you wouldn't ask the question. So if you take the risk, don't cry when you loose 3 points.
  20. Well now that you are in VIC, i hope to catch up with you at an event/cruise/meet/bbq/etc. All the best!
  21. Just to let you all know (probably a little too late) On the 1st of December SAU VIC will be in Shepparton for our quarterly DECA event. Basically a fun motorkhana event, very similar to the Dutton Rally, that is partly done on a small track and mainly done on a HUGE skid pan. Some people from NSW usually come too, so it would be a great meet and greet. The event is then followed with some awesome night shenanigans If you can't make this one, there is always another 4 next year. If you show interest i'm sure SAU VIC can help you with organizing entries to the event and accommodation. ALL SPECTATORS WELCOME!! (free)
  22. So the car has not been complianced yet? Is the price including compliance, rwc, on-road costs?
  23. I am not going to speculate what happened. BUT If you are looking for pieces of the turbine or whether "something went through it" i would be looking at the intake to the FMIC or the pipes leading to it. When pieces fly off the front compressor, they will usually get stuck at the fmic, they don't go to the exhaust side .
  24. Sounds like an awesome bargain, well done mate But only time will dictate whether you got a genuine bargain, wish you the best.
  25. Shane: I really hope you don't think those cars look good in those colours They would look soooooooooo much better in so many other colours. I don't know, dog shit brown just doesn't do it for me.
