I totally agree that the Nismo diff is better. But i got my diff from an Australian supplier at a very reasonable price (fair bit cheaper than Nismo) and it does the job VERY nicely.

Hey Kev, i am definitely in this one!! email sent.

I have seen second hand Pfc's sell for $1500 and new ones at the same price (if you can find one). For $400 extra i would much prefer a NEW V500 with all the added features, listed previously. The V500 is so small that you could probably pull it out of it's casing and fit it into a std 33 ecu case. Alternatively (and something i plan to do), I will get a chopped 33 loom from a scrapped car, dummy the ecu and chopped loom in the std position and power it up, then move the std loom and V500 and hide it in the dash. A club member had a Link in his 33 gtst, and even after AVO tunned it several times, he wasn't happy and pulled it out. Not sure how old the Link ecu was, so there may have been huge upgrades between his ecu and the ones currently on the market. EDIT: Just had a look at the "Link" links provided. He must of had an older ecu, as these look pretty reasonable.

Under acceleration the 1.5way and 2way lock up at the same rate: Provided they are the same make and have been set-up the same, with the same amount of shims. The difference is only under deceleration.

still waiting to see your car

I would definately pick the V500 over the Pfc. - as stated by mad082 PLUS - PIN security - Multiple AUX inputs and outputs (Control boost, thermo fan, NOS, water spray, Meth inj, C2O, warning lights, afr sensor, etc) - turbo timer - boost control via rpm and load - map sensor - full sequential injection (just like Pfc: V4 was grouped for 5+ cylinders) - and a whole lot of other shit i don't even know. With the Pfc you are just limited to whatever the std ecu controlled, and the option for the added boost controller, which i have read/heard is a prick to make run properly.

NO hand controllers left

How can you say "V3 was shit so the V500 must be shit too"? Ever here of manufacturers advancing their technologies or upgrading by 'leaps and bounds' How good was you PC 12 years ago? Will you now say that all new PC's are shit and slow, because your 486 only had 4 meg ram and a 20Mb hard drive? Same principal applies. The V3 was a basic ecu and pretty damn crude. The V4 had MASSIVE improvements, i have actually been using one in my car for the last 4-5yrs. I have seen the V500 installed and running in two R33 GTR's, one gtst and a few other cars. I am very impressed with it's features, tunning abilities and how smoothly it runs the cars. I am currently considering upgrading to the V500, in the near future, that is how impressed i am. A.E.M. (wolf 3d designers/manufacturers) are currently looking for a replacement h/c as the N.Z. manufacturer went bust; so until i see the new h/c i will stick with the V4. The feature that sealed the deal for me, over the Pfc, was PIN security. This stops the engine from starting, once enabled, until the PIN number is entered. When i take my car to my mechanic, i disable it, so he doesn't even know my PIN . There is a shit load of features the new V500 can do, too many to mention. But Ash is 100% correct, it's only as good as it's tuner. Even though my mechanic has been tunning Wolfs for 5+yrs, he still occasionally rings AEM to get advise on how to tackle certain gremlins. You will not regret buying the V500, provided you can find a good tuner. PS: GHOSTT was built by my mechanic, and is yet to be hooked up to the NOS bottle in the boot

Happy B'day Juz!! Wishing you all the best

A guy at my mechanic's has them on his 33, definitely not my thing, but looks OK. Hey if we all had the same taste, life would be pretty dull.

Do you know what you are saying? :laughing-smiley-014: How are you the same if you are happy with 5mm spacers?
-
I wouldn't be happy with ANY spacers at all, especially when buying new rims

1.5way for a street/track car <-- I use a Kaaz, and it's great!! 2way for drift only car I have heard of too many accidents with 2way diffs on the street. Under acceleration both are equal, but under deceleration the 2way will lock just the same as acceleration but the 1.5way requires more force to lock the second wheel. This 1.5way allows you to coast through round-abouts and turn corners easily without having to take it out of gear.

They look good Brentton, make sure they'll clear the calipers

That's what i was concerned/thinking about. The shorter runners would effect low-mid range power/torque. But if the shorter runners decreases low-mid power, then surely it will increase mid-high range power. In which case i am not fussed, as the rb25/30, with a GT30R, is hardly going to have any lag

cool

Just to let you know Daniel, so you don't feel like SAU VIC keep trying to stuff up your cruises, the cruises was planned and dated BEFORE your date change. Just letting you know, that there is no intended hard feelings from the club. Keep up the good work!

Not really a fan of that style. My mate had one on his GTST. It was made for a GTR, but actually fitted nicely on the GTST. He has since sold the car, without the diffuser, and is about to fit the same diffuser on his GTR. I think it looks awesome, and it worked toooo well. He is trying to find a matching diffuser for the front. On the GTST, the car looked like the rear suspension had blown, due to the down force created by the diffuser, when he was hammering down the straights. It's made from pure c/f and i think it cost him about $1000 s/h. Below are a few pics i took of the diffuser, the last one is a stitch of 4 pics, as i didn't take a pic from far back. Pics were taken as proof of condition, before car was loaded on a truck to be freighted across Australia, when he moved from Melb to Perth.

Very interested to know if there are any differences, in power/torque gains, between the two. Keep us posted I notice that the plazmaman plenum uses the factory runners, wonder if this would help/diminish potential gains, compared to the GReddy shortened runners? I already bought a GReddy plenum; got it for an unbeatable price (Second hand, but new/unused). The bling of the plazmaman plenum wouldn't suit my engine bay, as i plan to powder-coat my plenum, but they do look awesome and well constructed.

Looks VERY nice Jason. I take it, the the Tein-Super Drifts are pretty damn stiff; especially compaired to the Super Streets. What made you get the Super Drifts? Do you actually drift the 'line regularly?

I reakon it would be pretty good, but have no urge to buy it. Even if it was a polished S: with the S like in the pic, in the first post (had to be stated, otherwise James would have found a keyring with the letter S) .
