  1. Motor is always a good read, so go for that. Last issue had reviews of BMW M5, Aston Martin Vantage, Pagani Zonda and many other great cars. They love their exotics.
  2. I already posted this on the Arial Atom thread, but for Top Gear fans Final Gear have some classic Top Gear episodes (1989-90) for download if you're interested.
  3. Hahaha, sorry dude! I'm a bit of a Top Gear nut, so anything more than a few months old is "old" for me. It's a good review though. I think they should have chosen an R1 or GSXR1000 or something rather than a 600cc bike to race it against though. If you like your top gear (or fifth gear), check out Final Gear, they have heaps of stuff there, including recently added classic episodes from 1989 and 1990.
  4. What's wrong with Street Machine? I love that magazine!
  5. Yeah that video is old. There is a direct link for that video in mpg format on Openwheelers.com. They also have the 5th Gear Review. The Arial Website also have many other Magazine Reviews for download. Top Gear have all sorts of interesting toys on their show. I think my favourite from the show would be the Vandenbrink Carver, and the custom made cars from Rinspeed (including a hideous Porsche 911 ute). As for the Atom, the car is a bit irrelevant to us in Australia since I can't think of any way you could get one on the road. I would also like to congratulate myself on making every second word a hyperlink.
  6. Try a peer to peer file sharing program. The videos are starting to get old so it will be hard to find somebody still hosting it online
  7. Never really read it before. What was wrong with it? I just never bought it because it looked too (how to put this...) um... well, if a magazine cover could protray an overly large ego and love of ones self, that is the impression i got from that magazine. It had an air of "i am the best magazine in the world i am awesome" so i never bought it. So what's the story? Why does no one like it? EDIT: I think it took itself too seriously...
  8. A few songs for developing a lead foot: Offspring - Genocide Slipknot - Eyeless Depache Mode - Enjoy the Silence (Mike Shinoda Remix) Initial D - Dogfight Alexisonfire - Accidents Nine Inch Nails - Mr Self Destruct
  9. He hit you. Who cares how much it is all going to cost? It's going to be out of his pocket. As mentioned earlier 3rd party insurance should still be able to cover you if you are not at fault. The insurance company will get repaid by the other guys insurance company. If the other guy doesnt have insurance, DEFINITELY go through your insurance or else it will be a pain in the ass. Oh, and don't go anywhere near his mates workshop. You seem to have been easily pursuaded to do things his way so far, so you really don't want to get in a situation where the two of them can push you around. You are in control of this situation since you were not at fault.
  10. I give the car a boot on quiet roads every once and a while, it's always fun to get some opposite lock happening . But generally Im a fairly sedate and safe driver. Don't speed. Don't race. Don't do anything stupid really...
  11. This current series of 5th Gear seems to be an improvement, but still lacks the humour and personality of Top Gear.
  12. Judging from the lack of response, it seems there aren't many 5th Gear fans on the boards. I prefer Top Gear personally, but I have downloaded both episodes anyway.
  13. I saw a fridge white 1980's Volvo station wagon (740 or 760 I think?) running a 350 Chev for sale for $7500 a few months back. Anything will fit into that engine bay!!!
  14. If you're looking at buying one, keep in mind the fact that the new Clio is not far away may affect the resale value - if you care for such things
  15. Welcome to the board! You may miss out on skylines in Cal, but we miss out on The Governator over here!
  16. I thought they were much the same - so it would be a straight swap but there would be no difference to your old turbo.
  17. Unfortunately with the new pedestrian crash safety laws coming in, Honda will never be able to release a factory turbo kit like that
  18. ......................................whoa....
  19. I love to see intelligent open minded conversation on our forums
  20. From what I've heard, Ethanol has a cleaning effect on your engine, which initially sounds great. If you run your car on it FROM NEW it will enjoy a long trouble free life. Unfortunately, if you run a car more than a few months old, the carbon deposits built up from regular petrol use get swept away by the ethanol in big chunks, blocking valves, injectors, fuel lines and damaging pistons etc. So running a used car on Ethanol can cause irreversable damage, running a new car on Ethanol is potentially a good idea. Just what I heard.
  21. How does quad exhaust suggest a V8? It could just as easily be the V6 with one exhaust pipe per bank with a twin tip muffler at the back. Remember, the BMW M3 has a straight 6 with quad exhaust. I don't think the exhaust gives anything away at this point. And I remember hearing that it will run a VQ33DETT, but that was a long time ago now...
  22. The TV show Top Gear reported getting 4 mpg in a Ford GT40 doing burnouts etc. on a race track. That is about 60L/100kms full throttle on a race track. If you can beat that whilst driving off boost, it can only mean a fuel leak somewhere. I cannot imagine fuel consumption THAT high just from poor tuning.
  23. Sorry dude, but the pintara is a bit of a shopping trolley, and my honest opinion is that you should save your cash for a better baseline product. Having said that, the old pintaras run the CA20 right? So the swap to a CA18 shouldn't be too much trouble.
  24. Not arguing here! I agree 100% with everything you've said. I will however say that in my opinion Vauxhall VX220 Turbo would be better than the Elise as a daily driver, whilst delivering similar thrills both on and off the track, for less cost, and is hence arguably a more complete car than the Elise. It is a pity that Holden won't import it . Maybe now that HSV have announced they will be in future importing the 166kw Vauxhall Astra VXR, they will also import the VX220 VXR. Although I think a name change is in order - HSV VX220 VXR is a bit of a mouth full!
  25. Rumour has the VE Commodore (replacement for the current VZ) will have the option of a twin turbo V6, similar to that used in the Torana concept car. I thought waaaaay back when they announced the Territory that by the time the BF update came around they would be making all wheel drive falcons. I am really suprised that they haven't done it. Even though the AWD system is Auto only, a 6 speed automatic AWD falcon with Turbo 6 or V8 power would be incredible. They should wack a blower on the V8 while they're at it too - it's just a matter of dipping into the Ford parts bin,
