  1. Wow didn't this thread get out of hand! Just thought I might bring this to your attention: 1035 hp XR6 Turbo And one other thing, I beleive you when you talk about your track day success, but how much of the lap time advantage do you think was made up on the straights? Not in anyway challenging the handling of the XR6T, as I have never driven one and hence can't comment, but curious about your opinions. Cheers all
  2. I'd like to see some more information on that engine. I don't think it would be running a toyota century V12 as they were only 5.0 litres, and the stretch to 6.7 litres seems too much to me. That's a massive change in both bore and stroke to go from 81x80.8 to 89x90 - perhaps someone with some more experience in changing engine displacement could comment? One possibility is that it might be two 6 cylinder engines bolted together using a common crankshaft? Perhaps two VQ six cylinder engines? Dunno, I'm hardly an expert on such matters. Anyone who knows what they're talking about care to comment? Or even someone who doesn't know what they're talking about - it should be good for a laugh. Cheers all
  3. My car took about 5 weeks from initial purchase to my driveway, but from what i understand the time is mostly dependent on how soon you can get it on a ship. As far as getting someone else to pick it up, i know a tow truck driver, and i gave him the necessary documents to clear the car and he went down and picked the car up for me no problems. If you've got the paperwork they dont seem to care who you are. (Possibly not a good thing come to think of it...)
  4. Hey all, Can anyone give me some driving impressions when using this product? Mainly interested in part throttle response - how agressively does it boost on part throttle? The reason I ask is that my 18 year old P-plate brother occasionally drives my car, and I dont want the thing rapidly boosting mid corner with small throttle movements and him wrapping my baby around a tree. Cheers in advance for your responses.
  5. Try this thread http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=68542
  6. cheers joh21m, i'll get the spark plugs checked out. And the fuel pump makes the whining noise all the time.
  7. Hey everyone, Im going to take my car to a qualified mechanic for a full diagnosis, but i thought id ask you guys first so I have an idea of what cost i have coming my way. Ive just imported an R32 GTS-T 4 door, and when I use about 3/4 throttle at above about 4500-5000 rpm, there is a big power loss and the exhaust makes the same rumbling that happens when the engine is on the overrun after lifting off at mid-high rpm. The power loss seems to come it at the same time as the (factory) boost guage reaches its maximum. It seems to happen most when the air is cold. On a hot day i could drive very hard without any such problems. I havent used full throttle in these conditions so i dont know whether it clears up with more throttle (aftraid of killing car). The other symptom is that the fuel pump is very noisy, and can be heard over the 3.5 inch HKS exhaust up to about 1/3 throttle. Im not sure whether its a noisy aftermarket fuel pump, or whether the current fuel pump is dying. Do these symptoms sound like a faulty fuel pump causing fuel starvation? I was thinking the fuel may become more viscous or something in the cold which is why the symptoms arrise... or the fuel pump may be less efficient when cold... Anyways, Im not very good mechanically, so I'd appreciate the feedback. If it is the fuel pump, what's the bill coming my way? Is it worth upgrading to a larger fuel pump now if I want to increase boost some time in the future? WOuld a used RB26DETT fuel pump be best? Thanks in advance for any replies!
  8. Looks awesome, but 650,000 yen is waaaay out of my price range (i assume the "650000" is the price - not good with foreign languages). I spent 250,000 on my R32 GTS-t... Also has a note saying seller will not ship internationally... Although that can probably be arranged.
  9. First time in a skyline was 3 days ago when my '89 GTS-T 4 door arrived! Only driven it a couple of times as it is still unregistered (imported it myself). Mods are HKS exhaust, Pod filter and coil overs. Only other turbo car I've driven was a (rather tired) 180sx. Compared to the 180sx, the skyline was slower to come on boost, but boosted much harder, and held the torque until much higher in the rev band. Where the 180 was running out of puff at about 6500, the skyline kept pulling to well over 7000. The 180 was pretty neglected by its owner though, so perhaps not the best comparison to make. Compared to my previous car, a 95 Hyundai Lantra automatic, the skyline feels REDICULOUSLY fast. Cant help but laugh when you plant your foot. Cant wait for registration!!!
  10. You always have to take these cars with a grain of salt. I bought my 1989 GTS-T through Prestige (which is spending its first ever night at home now that compliancing is complete), and that was advertised as "no accident history." However, when the side intrusion bars were being installed, lo and behold, the rear right door had an intrusion bar already present, indicating the door had been replaced with a post 91 model (which had intrusion bars). So it did have accident history after all, albiet minor... Having said that, the car is absolutely mint and i would still recommend Prestige to anyone looking to import. My car is this one by the way: http://www.prestigemotorsport.com.au/au/st...sp?StockID=2831 Bargain if i may say so myself!
  11. bah! your bandwidth has been exceeded. I'll try again next month i suppose... only 9 days to go
  12. I was bored so i did a web search for R33 skyline pics to try and find one with black rims. Couldnt find any stock rims, but found this: Not my cup o' tea, but others might like it. I dont think there are many skylines with black rims so it would be something different. Dunno if it helps, but like i said i was bored...
  13. http://www.autospeed.com/cms/A_2278/article.html You need to pay to get a membership. I bought access to all the back issues (304 issues) for $80. I reckon it was worth it, but it depends how much time you would spend reading an online magazine. I think you can buy just the one issue for like $4 if thats the only article you want to read...
  14. You gotta love the current line of V8s though. Stuffing 6.0 litres of 297kw GENIV V8 into what's basically a taxi is just pure gold IMO. Those engines were designed for a corvette for pete's sake! Nah but seriously, I've heard of GENIII V8 Commodores running mid twelves on just headers, exhaust, chip flash and mild cam upgrade. With 5.7 litres you dont need to be very highly tuned to get moving faaaaast!
  15. Congrats on your new ride! I too am a new 4DR 32 owner (white, manual), but havent driven mine yet! Arrived in Fremantle (south of Perth) today, so I should get it very soon! As far as time frame is concerned, i payed for mine on January 27th.
