  1. I think some guy in WA bought a 4 door and found out it was impossible to attach a towball so he had to sell. Something to do with having no where to attach the bar to that could bear the towing weight.
  2. I'm not an expert or anything but it could be wastegate noise. I find that if the car is under load but the revs are less than 3k it makes a very different noise than when above 3k. I think this is because I still have my solenoid connected as standard so it runs lows boost until it hits about 3.5k rpm and is dumping alot of the exhaust through the wastegate instead of past the turbo. I really should get around to rewiring the solenoid and see if the noise changes. edit: Reread and you said off boost so I'm prob wrong but you never know
  3. Any more pics uploaded yet?
  4. Stainless sounds different to mild too doesn't it?
  5. off topic but does anyone else find lm gt4's to be totally sexy? Doesn't seem to matter what car they're on either. Maybe it's just the nismo stickers
  6. think theres 3 reasons to get a FMIC: summer, upping boost bling. I'd say alot are bought with performance in mind but mainly because they look so cool
  7. Unless iinet can garuntee tha you'll be on an iislam I'd go westnet. If you're not on one of their dslams you'll end up paying alot for 1500/128. My personal story involves 4 weeks of f**king around with telstra and iinet trying to get them to talk to each other to fix THEIR own problems (invalid database entry) until I said f**k it and rang westnet, was all sorted within a few hours.
  8. A catchcan will catch the oil if it's blow-by and also give you an indication of how bad the problem is.
  9. I'm in the same situation really. Think the best way to go is: Panel filter 3" exhaust system with a split dump Intercooler. Not absolutely sure when you need to start looking at a safc but I think after exhaust+ intercooler you're really pushing the limits of the standard ecu will accept and it'll start to run rich.
  10. To get a more accurate price of a new car if bought in australia you can use the ratio between an aust deliever car and a jap spec one. Like a 200sx. I did this with an r34 and they come out at between $50-70k australian. You've got to remember that difference in car price between japan and australian isn't only related to the exchange rate, there's also the difference in car market to consider.
  11. I was embarrased because it is not how I normally drive. Maybe I shouldn't have posted here, just thought other might have done stupid stuff they didn't mean to. I probably over exagerated the distance by heaps as I didn't even hit 70km/h
  12. I'm a retard, nuff said
  13. Yeah nothing worse than someone right up your ass when you're doing 10-20% over the limit already. If anything was to happen you'd both be pretty f**ked. Been having really good drives to work lately along great eastern high bypass, people just keep getting out of the way and I'm not even speeding
  14. I took mine to midland to get it licensed. They didn't even question it. Would look silly without it on a black skyline I think. Should probably get my front windows tinted to max legal too, they look so clear
  15. Wonder if they're going to start playing season 7 or just do specials like this one. Probably play season 6 or something
  16. You might not have a problem with tinting on the rear quarter panels of a coupe. r34s don't seem to, mine can't be seen through at all from outside.
  17. Most notable one would be misfiring at 4-6k, from the several page long thread it's a coil issue so 650-900 to replace them.
  18. nürburgring
  19. What does a misfire feel/sound like at 4-6k ?
  20. I mean wax when I say polish. I thought it adds to the clear add not removes, might have to be more careful in the future..or not park under a big ass tree
  21. OKay something useful then, I've been using Meguiar's NXT Generation for the past few weeks. First time I used it I wasn't too impressed, paint had lots of little specs of polish left behind in pits and on bumps. Decided that it was probably the contamination from shipping that was causing the pit marks so I got some Meguiar's paint cleaner, followed the directions and most of the car came out pretty good, paint felt smooth. Bonnet was still rough so I gave it another go and it came out better but not perfect. There was still noticeable swirls in the paint when you up up close. Since then I've washed and fully polished it about 3 times, paint is now almost swirl free and looks alot cleaner, it seems to be getting better each time I wash it. Before I started using Meguiar's I used some cheap shit stuff that came in a smallish grey bottle, even when I wasn't impressed with Meguiar's it was ALOT better than the cheaper stuff. I've done some tests where I polish a section with Meguiar's NXT Gen, the Meguiar's with the big black car on the front and an area with no polish. The polishes definitely make the paint darker (it's black), clearer and look a shitload better. I can't really tell the difference between the two types of Meguiar's though. I find the NXT Gen stuff smells better and doesn't screw with your skin as much. The NXT gen is ~$48 a bottle and the one with the big black car is about $39. I've completely polished my car about 4-5 times now with the NXT gen stuff and I'd estimate theres about 2/3 of a bottle left. Maybe more because of the weird bottle shape. I used heaps of the cheap shit stuff just to do it once, so spending the extra for Meguiar's is definitely cost effective over the long run in my opinion.
  22. 1) Take photo of dirty car with brick walls nearby. 2) Take photo of clean car outside with reflections of sky 3) ??? 4) profit!
  23. Not to be mean but it's NA, it will lose value alot quicker than a turbo model. I agree on the Supra being over priced too.
