  1. Prices for complying SEVS cars is generally around the same price so you'll be looking around 3-4k.
  2. Been having major issues with cd player, can't get it to stop spinning and it won't eject and the tv doesn't work I got it to go once though I thought maybe it's because I have no idea what the buttons I'm pressing do Could someone please translate the controls for me?
  3. Having major problems with the standard TV/CD. The cd player just keeps trying to read cds and never does anything else. I can't even eject the cd. Last week I got it to work by taking it all apart and removing the power connector, putting it back and hitting eject at the same time...out came the cd which has the nav data on it. Put in a normal cd and it played fine and the tv would pop up and everything...until I turned off the car and then it went back to reading the cd over and over again and the tv controls won't respond. This week tried the same thing I got it to eject but it wouldn't read when I put it back in and then won't eject again using the same trick. Tried cleaning the lens but hasn't done anything Has anyone had a similar problem and found a way to fix it? I thought i might be pressing the wrong buttons (most in japanese) but I doubt it's that. Edit: With the car turned off the cd continues to spin, don't know for how long but I left it for about 30 mins and was still doing it.
  4. Lots of wear for 10k.
  5. I just used a multimeter for the resistors, but yeah labels would be better. specially if you don't have a meter around...still making mine. First time soldering
  6. Yep. Big red box is fuse box, small one has consult port inside it (well I'm really sure it's a consult port)
  7. I'm sure someone else must have had the same problem I did, I couldn't find the consult port On an R34 it's inside a panel that if you're looking out of the windscreen is directly to the left of the hood lever.
  8. Something I've always wondered, why do 99% of WRXs have an atmos BOV and like only 20% of skylines. Just a difference in cultures between groups or does the wrx actually need it?.

    Heyy

    heh definitely at autoworx's.
  10. Don't armourall any clear plastics it'll turn them white. Also I've heard that it leeches out chemicals and can make plastic brittle over time, not sure if that's just a rumour or fact though..
  11. They sent off the letter for compliance plate before it was actually complied? nice rims btw, not sure if I want white or black ones on mine
  12. get away 6 was yawntastic. Loved the sparks off the viper though.
  13. another grand or so should be about $2k Alarm, hidden customs costs, transporting, decent tyres, stamp duty, fm expander for radio, xenon switchover, degassing of aircon and of course even more bloody tax for on road costs (paying tax on the same car 3 times really sucks)
  14. got some for $205 a tyre at midvale tyres, pretty damn cheap. Specially considering ian diffen said cost was $203, think they might have been BSing me though.
  15. I downloaded an eps of 5th gear last season, was so boring compared to top gear. Maybe I just got a bad one.
  16. thanks Mitchy
  17. I hear welshpool and midland are the best.
  18. Hi, Cars starting compliance tomorrow and I want to get some hankook k104s put on, anyone have a rough retail price on them? Need 225/45 r17 Thought I'd ask here before ringing a thousand places tomorrow
  19. So far I've had to pay the guy in japan for the car, pay customs broker for doing all my customs stuff and I gave Paul $1000. And a final payment when I pick it up after compliancing. Not too bad really, was spread out of a couple of months for me too
  20. I'm currentlyimporting my r34 with Paul at autoworx (www.autoworx.com.au) he garauntees the car will be compliancable when it gets here. Although if it has unforseen mechanical problems you will need to pay for. So far he's been great to deal with, put up with me being picky on what I bought too. Car should be delivered to him today for compliancing so I can give more info in 2 weeks when I have the car. I think the boat that had my car on it also had several r33s for Paul to sell in his lot, maybe he has what you're looking for already.
  21. They need to ditch the smartcar roadster lights at the front and replace them with something more r34. And it needs a frontmount
  22. R34 I think it would be like sandpaper on it. Maybe I just need to convince work to give me a carbay then I'm all good
  23. I have to park my car in a public carpark (trainstation) , was thinking this summer to use one of those car cover things that cover the whole car. Pros would be: Protects paint + interior from sun. Won't get so hot inside, specially since it's black. Protect from leaves + bird crap. Stop a few of the enevitable scratches from park in a public space. Cons: look like a total wanker Might draw attention more than it just sitting there itself. what do you, think?
  24. Yeah insurance companies can vary pretty wildly in policies depending on who you get.
  25. Justcars, shannons and HBF are your best bets. Trying to decide between shannons and justcars now myself. Justcars is $920 and shannons $1100 a year
