mmm exactly. The police up here are a totally different breed. For the most part they leave you alone unless you are drawing attention to yourself by doing the wrong thing. My 'line is a daily, and I've only been pulled over twice in 9 months. And once I had no front bar on, so it was actually legitimate. But as was said before, if your worried about inner Newcastle where the police will be, and where riots have been rumoured to occour, there are many other places which are just as good too look at/take pics at and are good for swimming etc.... Let us know.

Indeed! An excellant idea for anyone still interested! Look up Speers Point on WhereIs?. Its on the northern part of Lake Macquarie for those that don't know. Just west of Warners Bay for anyone who has done cruises up this way before. Beautiful place. Its where my parents moved to some 18 years ago now Anyway, as Chris said, PM him. Would be great to meet the brave

Damn right its going ahead! Can't let all this hard work go to waste! Plus, we're not going anywhere Newcastle, till maybe the arvo. And by then, we should know if its a good idea or not.

I am an Aussie. I was born here, to an Aussie mother, and a Kiwi father. But I am an Aussie. I consider all you guys that have posted above me, no matter what country you were born in, or where your parent's or grand parents were born, an Aussie. As mentioned before, if you have citizenship, or a passport, your as Aussie as I am. Hell, even if you just pay taxes, your as Aussie as I am. The thing about these small minded minorities is.... just that. They're all small minded. Very little intelligence. If they had much at all, they'd be able to realise that EVERYONE in this country has come from somewhere else in the world at sometime or other. Whether it be you and your family last week, or your ancestors 200+ years ago. We were all bought here by something, for something. Be it by leaky boat in the 1700's because you commited crimes or were looking after those that had. Or by boats in the 30's, 40's and 50's because you wanted to escape wars etc..... Or be it now because you were on holiday here and loved it so much that you had to come back to live for the rest of your life. No one was truly born here, and no one truly owns this country. Thats what makes it so great. Diversity in culture make the Australian way of life one of the best, no, THE best in the world. And small minded individuals like these fools on the weekend need to realise that the greater part of 14+ million people are not going to stand for any of it and want our lazy, laid back country back the way we damn like it!

Alright, so it looks like the Sydney crew aren't coming up for the day. Understandable really. Most of their reasons are well founded. So..... We have choices to make. 1) Are we still going? I say yes. And I'm 100% positive about that. Why? Because I say we cruise in spite of all these "threats". I say we show our support for Australias multicutural society and get on with our normal activities. I was even thinking of some kind of temp sticker for my rear windscreen with something like "I support a multicutural Australia". But maybe, maybe not... lol Anyway. 2) What shall we do after lunch? This is something we can prob discuss in the morning at Speersy, but something for you all to keep in mind till then. We can opt to take our time with photos and lunch, and drag it all out more. Or we can cruise back down to somewhere else. Stockton or back to Speers Point or something. I'd honestly stay away from Newcastle itself, more to give the police a break then anything else. Thoughts? Suggestions?

Hey guys, Very dissapointed you giys and girls aren't coming up for the day, but I can understand your concerns. ALthough, I don't really agree with you writing that just because you spoke to your relatives up here that the riots are on Jeff. Thats meerly hearsay. The Newy guys will prob still be cruising anyway. We know our town, and the fact that the exact same msgs have been spread around the central coast, newcastle and the gold coast says to me that copy cats are just trying to start shit because of the events of last sunday at cronulla. We'll def have to do this all again in the New Year. All this will die down quickly I'm sure.

Hrmmmm I am getting a little worried about all this though. Not because I think it will happen here, but generally because of the hieghtened state of alert the local authorities are on. I'm thinking we should either find another place sort of close to Newcastle and a beach for the arvo stuff with the Sydney crew, or at least let Newcastle Police know what we have had planned for a month now and that we won't be there to cause trouble. More so they know they can focus elsewhere. But telling them also means EVERYONE has to be on their absolute best behaviour whilst driving down through Newy.

This is some fantastic work so far guys. Well done Chris and Paul. The sydney lot are getting a little worried about weather at the moment, but I tried to set them straight on what Newy weather is really like So, just in case anyone is interested, the forcast for Saturday is.... "Scattered showers and thunderstorms. Warm to Hot. North to NE winds." Theres no forecast for Sunday yet, but it does say "Trend for Sunday, Monday, Tuesday fine to mild." Which does sound alot better to me. I'll keep an eye out.
-
Hey Jeff, just got your PM and saw your note about the forecast for the weekend. Not too fear man. The weather here is nothing like it is in Sydney. And I do know this from much personal experience. For example. Tonights forcast said "Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Moderate northeast to northwest winds ahead of a milder southerly change." We had all of about 4mins of rain at about 4ish the sarvo, and thats it so far. So when the forecast says "Scattered showers and tunderstorms, Warm to Hot", it generally means it'll rain late in the arvo, usually about sun down, and it'll be a stinker of a day!

Oh so many people...... I'd say cater for 100 man, cause i like you would eat more then one easily. And as you say, you can always use the stuff you don't cook
-
Haha, awesome man. Theres a few others that I've seen around lately that I'd love to see come with us. A blue 33, with a carbon bonnet and plates SLY 25T that I see at Glendale alot. Its a hot as car! And theres two that have moved in up the road from me here too. White 33 with plates JES 550, and a lime green 33 with a carbon bonnet and some strange kit. Haven't got the plate yet though.

Man, after todays increase in police powers, there won't be shit happening at Nobbys this weekend. Plus, the majority of people down are are generally more disgusted at this weeks events then proud of em. And I would know, as I work with the absolute "common man" in tradesmen everyday and they'd be the ones to say racist stuff if anyone would. Besides which, we may end up staying at Bar Beach rather then heading into Nobbys. Especially since I don't think it would be a real hot idea to piss off the local constabulary anymore then we have too.
-
Hey Jeff Have you been up this way before? Would you like me to PM you somm directions from the freeway to bar beach?
-
Yeah, bar beach car park is huge. Its on a bit of a slope, but if you all start up the top of it, rather then closer to the beach we'll all have no worries. Especially if its a good, hot day. Since other peeps will be at the beach. Over looks the water and all too, so some good photo ops. Will work on the map and send it to ya man. Along with some directions.
-
Only likes driving on twisty roads? What does he think Newcastle is? All drag strips? Anyway. For you guys who are wanting food/BBQ's the place where we were all going to meet up with Newcast;e crew is at a place called Bar Beach. I'm fairly sure they still have a kiosk there. And as its a beach, lots of swimming can be had. Its actually one of the better beaches up here IMO. I spose I should give you guys leading the pack some kinda vague directions or something...... just in case
-
Well I should have 1. Prob not the missus, but a friend who loved my skyline so much after driving it once she now wants me to find her one
-
Just paint up a sign to put into your lawn out front with something unlong the lines of "To the gutless wonder who can't sign their letter of complaint about my car, come talk to me in person so we may discuss it" My neighbours are pretty good on the whole. One one side they have kids and stuff, but can't complain much about us cause we put up with their 3am parties. And on the other, the lady sticks her head around the fence every now and then when the turbo timer is on, but she can't complain cause her sons friends drive modified cars too. That and whenever I come home around 2 or 3am, I like to coast down the hill we live on for about 3kms so I can just turn the car off straight away.

"twoogle" And Stacey Clean Up At Autosalon
monkeykplunk replied to Swiper the Fox's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Never a truer word has been spoken..... err written..... ahh you get it. Quite possibly the funniest quote I've read on these forums Congrats guys. And I'm really glad to see Stacey won the Driver With Attitude award. She really was the friendliest person I spoke to at the shows. Most people just fob you off when you try and take interest in their cars. Well done! -
It would seem we're getting some good numbers for this. And while we're on that, we should possibly start working out those with passengers so we know of numbers for food as well. Gunna be a tops day!
-
And so you should! I only wish I wasn't working this weekend so I could come down to see you guys run the dyno drags at Autosalon.
-
That sounds awesome Paul! Good work mate. This is gunna be tops. I have a UHF radio. And anyone that doesn't, get on down to your local Dick Smiths this week. The Uniden radios I got come as a pair and are on special for $50. So split the cost between you and a friend, and it'll be all good.

I am having trouble posting replys to threads. Through some testing it seems that it is limited to the For Sale (Business Traders) section.
