What Not To Do When Trying To Avoid A Kangaroo
monkeykplunk replied to ProphetR33's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Holy shit! Glad all you guys are ok aside from some stitches! Time to start selling some parts eh Some cash might ease the pain..... That exhaust looks like it's untouched too and the interior is still sale-able -
I've been pulled over once twice in 2 years of driving a skyline Once for a "RBT" and the other cause I drove without a front bar. Police work just as much at night as they do during the day, just focus their attention to different areas. Up here they tend not to be in the outer suburbs after about 1am because of the amount of people that end up in the middle of town around that time of night. You'll also rarely find a police officer on most roads between 3am and 6 am or if it's raining or extreme cold.

Can Some One With Some Good Knowledge Answer Me This?
monkeykplunk replied to sky-017's topic in New South Wales
It really worries me that there are still idiots getting around who will do 45 over a speed limit without even thinking about the consequences. Especially with all kinds of increased police presence in all areas of Australia and the awareness of what performance vehicles like Skylines can do. Wake up to yourselves and hopefully this long without a licence and the following 3 months ban that you will get will teach you all some respect for the road and the rules that keep us all safe. -
I'm pretty damn sure this wouldn't clear defects in NSW either. Unless you put sound deadening on the inside to block the noise of the pod. Otherwise it's not going to pass any sound test. The only advantage is that if you have one it may tend to look legal to an untrained police officer.

i'll take the dash and gearstick surround. Do you still have everything down around the stereo as well? And the ashtray?

When are you taking it out? Cause I'll probably take it -
no 2up in Newcastle this year Apparently the government/licensing board has put harsher restrictions on clubs who want 2up so they can curb "anti-social" behavior...

I think that first pic is from somewhere on here too..... anybody?......

Yeah I did find info saying that it combines what the SAFC and the VAFC do in one unit. It's all very interesting to me, as I was told that you couldn't run a hi-flow without changing to proper tuning and bigger injectors and AFM, but I've since found plenty to say that is just bs. Now it makes me worried about going back to a mechanic who is actually extremely good at what he does..... I hate having to change mechanics

I was thinking more about where and what time and price etc when I asked for more info But that all sounds pretty sweet anyway and has got me excited to see all this.....

yes, one paricular abomination was painted up panda like with zebra print though-out the interior, dash included

Hmmm.... although the way Marsss said it is confusing he is right though.... $800 is actually a really good price for supplied, fitted and colour matched. A friend on here bought a GTR Front bar from Jetspeed and they did it all for $800 and it came out a really top job. The only thing I could see wrong was the weird arse bolts they used for fitting. Massive stainless washers against a blue bar tend to stand out a little

Anybody have any other info on this historics weekend? It's funny, I've never liked the look of the 31s because of the guys that run em around Newcastle, but after looking at these pics I realise that these boys are just turning a great car into an abomination
-
wait wait..... so what mods do you have on the car? And any idea on what the difference is between an AFC NEO and a normal AFC?
-
I found a R33 Strawberry Face kit (R34 Front for a R33) the other day somewhere and I can't remember where. Has anyone else seen one on a body kit site lately? I'm pretty sure I got the site from one of the ads in HPI or drift battle

Amen to that SK! You and Mrs SK should get an award for parents of the year The biggest misconception held today about driver education is that a driving school will teach you everything you need to know about driving on public roads. Even the instructors will try and perpetuate this myth. It's simply not true. When I was learning 10 years ago, I knew more then my instructor. I knew that book inside out before I went out with a driving school, and had been driving with my dad almost every day for about 4 months before that. And I knew half the things the instructor was telling me were wrong things to be doing, but they were things that would help me pass the RTA test. I've been driving everyday for the past 10 years, and I've only ever had 1 accident, and it was completely my fault because I was stupid enough to be having a perve in peak hour Sydney traffic! Good thing the ol' XF could stand up to a bit of punishment My girlfriend is 8 years younger then me and I hate going anywhere driving with her because she's simply terrible at driving. Which constantly amazes me since I know her Dad taught her well. It's just that she got lazy and couldn't be bothered doing half the stuff she should once she got her red Ps. I think I had a point when I started.....

Ahahhahah Give Him Some Sympathy
monkeykplunk replied to Bo0oSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I respect all kinds of performance cars. I have friends who have really decent SS Commodores, and the newer models actually started looking really good too. But I am more of a Ford man, as thats pretty much what I've owned from when I was 18. I actually wish I'd never gotten rid of the XF just so I'd have something other then the 'line to drive around! But now I'm trying to pay off the rest of the loan on the 'line so I can get an XR6T....... although I'll prob end up with a 33 GTR anyway -

monkeykplunk replied to Bo0oSt's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I love that they're constantly referring to "turbos" and "ricers" but only ever talking about Japanese made cars. I bet their tiny little heads spin when an XR6 Turbo beats em I've driven Commodores, driven in them, and I can guarantee that I get a more satisfying drive out of my 33 GTSt every day then I ever did from a Commodore. I'd love to see them take corners smoothly at 100km/h! And as for being a family car, you have to remember that GTS' were made as a Japanese family car. So they were made for people who are a little smaller then the average Anglo Saxon. Sif that backseat wasn't made for two Japanese people to have sex in -

Nah thats pretty cheap now dave, I've seen some well over 1800 which is a f**king rip off! I'd love to be able to find a Power FC cause it means I wouldn't have to change mechanics either.
