  2. yeap, carbon fiber being abit of a noob steve, can you recommend any places to go ? and pauly, i let you know how it goes as im making a few things with it or tring too hehehe
  3. do it urself it takes about 1hr max if you go really slow and make sure everything is done right
  4. Hey, Does anyone know where you can buy sheets of Carbon in perth? Thanks Michael
  5. thanks for the reply sk i was under the impression that the apexi RX6 (IHI) was only oil cooled being plain bearing ? so i am under the impression that all EVO which would be running Mitsubishi turbos would then be plain bearing yes? Also can't it be said that because more than one main supply is using plain bearing turbos, that the tech behide them is fairly good and that they can match ball bearing? From a design point of view wouldnt the company choose the option that produces the best result at the best price. So if the lose from using plain bearing is say 5% but the price saving is 20% then i dont see plain bearing being that bad in a price/performace comparisons to ball bearing?
  6. hmmm.... (im no pro but hay i will have ago) Yes on a scale Plain bearing may be less reliability than ball bearing (thou i do not agree 100% of this statment)... but why would anyone make a turbo if it wasnt reliability, greddy/trust wouldnt be making plain bearing turbo if they were to go bang after 1 to 2 years.... There is nothing wrong with plain bearing, when i can be f**ked i go find one of my mechanical engineering books, and post up some facts about plain bearing and ball bearing... Im studing mech engineering, so im tring to think like an enginer and i cant see how in this day and age a company that is there to make money would choose a option which doesnt meet the standards of say another company making a similar item (for example greddy and hks) just my 2cents
  7. not yet, there was a mixup with hks in japan and i was sent the wrong gasket it should be coming this week. so i try and get the car in for atune in the next few weeks ehehe
  8. happy birthday niz
  9. japan.. pm sent
  10. thanks R31Nismoid, havnt bought one yet.. just saw one for sale.. my turbo is a hks gt2835 pro s, i just wanna make sure before i go ahead and buy it that my turbo will sit in the same postion it does with the stock manifold as i have a kit to suit that postion...
  11. hey, im just after some information on the r31 gts-r stock manifold. Im looking at using one of my r33 rb25det, but im not 100% sure if the turbo will sit in the stock postion... can anyone confirmed if it will or wont? and if anyone has any photos of it on an engine showing how the turbo sits please post them up thankyou michael
  12. the e-manage comes with a usb plug and the software... also it is car base so therefore it would have a basemap for a skyline
  13. if your going to get the e-manage you might aswell spend the extra cash and get the ulimated and if you play on running aftermarket injectors just buy the injector harness at the same time its only like an extra $40
  14. looks like one if for a boost gauge and the other is for a oil pressure gauge... do you have these greddy gauges in ur car?
  15. if you dont wanna spend big a good upgrade for an rb20 is an RB25 turbo and it can be had for under $500
  16. if it is a garrett t04e then pending price it may be a good deal. is it interal gate? or external gate? as stated above if the car is stock putting a turbo of that size on ur car is extremmely pointless, thou if you buy the turbo and then buy all the supporting mods it would be ok to run the turbo you would need a bare min of :intercooler (larger than stock size - FMIC) :turbo back exhuast (3 1/2inch or bigger) :Aftermarket ecu (pfc etc) :Larger injectors (size depending on final power goal) :Larger AFM (z32) :Air-filter :larger fuel pump now that is just the engine side, of course you would need to upgrade ur clutch, suspension, tyre size etc etc cheers michael
  17. HKS GT-RS $2500 or HKS GT2835 PRO S $3500
  18. well.. your car as an intercooler but to the point.. intercooler, cools the air basicly one pipe goes to the thotter body the other end goes to the turbo outlet the air get compressed by the turbo the comes out the turbo outlet gets cooled then goes back into the t.b back into the engine rofl or just try www.howstuffworks.com
  19. awsome topic steve havnt been on westdrift much as i am always on driftwa, but i think i bookmark it and view it more offent
  20. what are u talking about you dude ROFL
  21. Hey, im after 2 (left and right) PERFECT s1 r33 fog/indicator lights for the frontbar thanks michael
  22. i think its like $1000 or if there is damage to my rims i think it goes up to like $1200 or soo
  23. f**k! full cover for me is like $2100 and mine is turbo, and i have all my mods listed inc my kit and rims thats with just-cars ohh and im 19, thou i have been 1st driven since day one
  24. well is better than nothing... drifting is only starting in wa and we as perforance car owners need to support it 100% or else it will never get any better than it is... and i once a month is alot its not like u get 4 laps and thats it. i remember the last time i went i got heaps of turns i lost count... and yes you do learn how to do it properly its all trail and error people dont really mind if u spin out everyturn but you soon learn what makes you spin and what doesnt make you spin if your worried ur going to spin, just take it easy and build up ur skill slowly
