  2. thanks for the reply, no smoke, and still comes on boost as hard as it did in the beging, i didnt think it would be the wheel, but something is making ticking sound from the area around the turbo

Hi; I have a tapping/ticking sound coming from my turbo i am unsure what it means. could it possable be shaft play (and if so what is shaft play), i also have a fear that the turbo wheel is damage as i have been getting sparks out of my exhuast. The sound can only be hear from outside of the car, i have not noticed it well driving only when i just start her up thankyou

  6. ohh yeah, and my car has know to shot sparks out of the exhuast, Could this possable be bits of the turbo? (saw it for myself lastweekend was driving hard then shifted very closed to limiter then looked in rear-view mirror saw sparks and a big flash of light (aka a flame)
  7. 1st; what is shaft play? is it when the turbo wheel moves so that it is not inline with the shaft? 2nd; Would shaft play results in a ticking/tapping sounds coming from the trubo, im not sure what the sound is but im almost 100% its coming from the turbo The turbo is a vg20 (never been confirmed so could be anything) it takes ashit of abuses from me bouncing off the limiter and running 12psi cheers michael
  8. 17k for those mods you got to be joking? seriously if you going to sell your import dont sell it on fourm cuz you will never get the best amount you can for your car, i say throw it in the autotrader if you where thinking of selling it for atlest 20k, i would be inclinde to say u could get 22k if you dont mind waiting p.s dude ive seen ur car once at hyperdrive, and it looks sweet as very clean, top skyline

  15. just did some quick caluction: Stainless Steel Grade 430 (avg s/s not sure if uses in turbo); at temp 400 degress, the Tensile Strength drops to 430MPa, at temp 750 degress, the Tensile Strength drops to 50Mpa, -Now this is only at short time, which would apply to the antilag system as it would only be working say on a street-car; maybe once every 1min, given the steel afair amount of time to cool down again and with the air directed onto the wheel (through the pod) it should be able to reach a safe temp before the next brust of gases hit it Edit: AFter checking out my Material Sciences Book,i found some good news about Ceramic Materials It states one of its main properties is: Refractoriness, or their ability to withstand very high temperatures. depending on the ceramic material itself it has a melting point from 2050 to 2690 degress

  18. hey, Just wondering if anyone has one of these systems on there car, Ive being doing some research and find you can grab system which plug into the stock ecu and does watever it does and gives your car antilag. Im interested in buying one but with the digrams etc only in jap, i think it will be alittle hard to install unless someone else has done it before.   24. im in perth im guessing we are looking at a max of 30 to 1hr of dyno time by the sounds of it so about $60 which is ok with me
  25. sound interested if it wouldnt blow up my engine , i will be up for it. the wa boys are holding a dynoday with saturday so if you could get it to before then i might be able to get abit of adjustment done and dyno results for you by next week, ps, i got an rb25det s1 r33 1993
