Hey Lance,
That quote is pretty much spot on. you must remember that when i workshop quotes you pricers on parts that they are paying gst and other taxs etc, so it will always be more pricey compare to if you bought the parts direct from japan.
You could possible drop down the price buy looking around for the more common parts from companies in australia or online shops in japan (for example www.nengun.com or www.greenline.jp)
as an example one of the forums traders can get garrett turbos are very good pricers (i belived its slide performace)
Also the comments about you blowing ur engine is neither here nor there. Basicly with that sort of power you are pushing the upper limites of the stock rb25 engine and also putting alot of stress on the gbox and drivetrain (lsd, tail shafts etc). I would say if you arnt looking to rebuild possible aim for 350 to 400rwhp and throw in an aftermarket headgasket (to lower the compression) for extra safety.
Just to give you an example my car is an r33 rb25det and im running close to 350rwhp @ 16psi, my engine has 100,000km+ and i have been running this power for abit of time now and i've yet to have a problem, althou a had a slighty issue with my tune it has now be all sorted
Also if i could give you some advice, shop around on some of those parts and if you need help sourcing anything i am more than willing to help you out, and point you in the right direction where to get the parts cheaper.
Also when picking a tuner, you will find that can be the hardest part of it all, please remember that every tuner has there bad and good stories And don't always belived what you hear or read. I found that when picking a tuner for my car, it basicly came down to picking a tuner and seeing how it went, if i wasnt happy with the tune, i would go else where.
Good luck and have fun.
Cheers Michael
edit: also just remember that some more pricers for you; a forum trader sell nismo 740cc injectors for around $900 to $1000 brand new (but i do belived you looking at between 300 to 400 to get them installed)
edit2x: Also if i've learnt anything from my build up of my r33 is do it right the 1st time althou china parts are cheap, i would presonal stay away from them. and get quality brands or quality made custom work
