  1. So any ideas on how to fix it guys???? Cheers anthony
  2. Thank's for the reply. it would be good to know what settings people are using and how much power they got out of the cam gears also did this setting bring boost on earlier or did it improve top end ??? Cheers anthony
  3. But my dash is a digital dash out of the 180 and i can't remember a cable being there for the odometer. maybe it's a different setup.
  4. Hello people I know the km on my car are jap modified i.e has been tampered with. now for some reason it works some times and doesn't work other times yea i know that most of you would see that as a good thing but it not working is giving me the shits so i'm pulling my dash out soon and i wondered if any one had any ideas on how to get it working properly. By the way it's a 180sx Cheers anthony
  5. Yea i know but i would rather set it all up for him before i take it down to save some time and money. Cheers anthony
  6. Hi People I've read how to do this before on this forum but i now can't find it i was just wondering which way do i turn the camgear to get it advanced, is it clockwise or anti clockwise and the same for retarded??? Cheers anthony
  7. Hi all Was driving to melbourne a few weeks back and as soon as i entered Victoria suprise suprise it started to piss down. so i put up the windows and then i realised that my feet and legs wer starting to get wet. now this is starting to piss me off as now the car smells really mouldy and musty and my girlfriend wants to know what i've been getting up to at night, believe me it's not making my life any easier (damn musty smells) can some one please tell me what the hell to do like i said it's only on the drivers side. The car's a 180sx. So any ideas on how to stop the water getting in would be great. Cheers anthony
  8. Fair enough what about my other question about weather or not i have to re adjust the cam gears. i.e do i have to take them off set them on zero and then put them back on or are they already set up because they were done on the other motor?? I asked sydney kid and he answered my question but i don't think i made much sence so i just want to confirm. should i take them off and re adjust it or not?? Cheers anthony
  9. Hi people just was wondering which one to adjust to move the power band so ot spools up quicker, do i adjust the inlet or the exhaust i'm hoping it's the inlet cause it's alot easier to get to on the dyno or is a combination of both. Also these cam gears were on another rb20 and set at +2 -4 i took them out of that engine and just wacked them on mind ( i did the TDC) are they already dialed in to +2 -4 on my engine or do i have to take the cam gears off set them at zero and then put them back on and then adjust it to +2 -4. i hope that made sence Cheers anthony
  10. From what i have read of that post that is not what i'm looking at doing i don't want the turbo to be feeding the supercharger at all. i was looking at the supercharger working by itself and re do the intercooler pipeing so the charged air goes through the same intercooler as the turbo then into the plenum and then when the turbo is producing more boost than the supercharger i want the supercharger to stop working all together. i don't want the turbo to feed the supercharger and then into the plenum. or is all that stuff in the above topic still relivent?? Cheers anthony
  11. ok basically what i wnat to know is this I have a gt30 on my rb20 now full boost kicks in at 4800rpm a little laggy for me what i want to do is run the supercharger untill about 4000 rpm and then turn the supercharger off (is there a way that it can automatically disingage at this rpm cause i'm guessing that's when the turbo will produce more boost than the supercharger. now if this happens will the transition loose power for a second or two while it switches over to turbo. now the reason whyi want the supercharger from the 1ggze is because i can run it from my aircon belt as i don't have aircon at the moment. Now my ecu runs a map sensor so i don't need another airflow meter and i can re do the pipeing fairly easy so what i want to know is the chapest wat to ensure that the supercharger switches off when the turbo starts producing more power and i want this to feel very linier not like there is no power for a second or two. So come on people put your thinking caps on and tell me what i should do. Also can some one explain to me how i can run the supercharger of a switch so i can turn it off when i'm just driving normally and then be able to switch it on to have some fun like run a switch inside the cabin. Also does anyone know how much boost the stock 1ggze supercharger produces?? and weather it is possible to do the above with this supercharger. Cheers anthony
  12. So would it be possible to have the supercharger running seperatly and the charged air going into the intercooler( just plumbed into the same pipeing i'm using for the turbo) then into the plenum?? the reason why i want the blower to stop working at about 4000rpm is because i love the rush of my car hitting redline at 8400 rpm. but 25psi at 2400rpm sounds nuts!!!!!!!!!! Cheers anthony
  13. Hi people Now i've been reading another thread about this and i have a few questions. first of all i have an rb20 with a gt30 out the side of it makes full boost at about 4800rpm a little laggy for me now i heared that the toyota 1ggze supercharger would be the quickest and easiest to fit, now what would i have to do to fit this supercharger what type of plumbing ect basically i want to know everything. I have all of the usual gear Zorst, FMIC, Computer, fuel ect i wnat the supercharger to work up to about 4000rpm or untill the turbo starts making more power and then i want the supercharger to stop working alltogether and just allow the turbo to work. is this possible?? also is it possible to mount an indash switch so i can turn the blower off during normal driving ect. The cars at a workshop at the moment and i can get everything done very cheap so before it goes to get a full tune i was thinking about doing this and saving money in the long run. any help at all about this topic would be great cause i basically know fark all about superchargers Sydneykid as usual you help woulpd be appreciated. Cheers anthony
  14. Hi People I have just bought a microtech dash and was wondering if anyone actually has one and how do they actually set everything up i.e the warning settings and the shift light ect. Or does anyone know where i can download a user manual. Also does anyone have one of these units itstalled just looking for ideas on where to mount it. pics would be good. Cheers anthony
  15. Dr drift did put in another set of sparkplugs as well and he gapped them to .5 i think the were 7E's but we still got the miss fire. so do the 7heat range plug handle more heat?? what sparkplugs should i get so i don't have to worry about missfire at all?? Cheers anthony
  16. I've got bkr6e spark plugs but the car runs fine without a problem right up untill 16 psi no misses no nothing so do you think it could be the ignitor?? the microtech that i have is a lt12. maybe i should change the 1 standard coil that i have to a better one as i have like 5 spair Cheers anthony
  17. I mean the actual dash
  18. Hi people just after a microtech dash Cheers anthony
  19. The plugs are getting direct power from the coils so it's definatlly getting 12V from memory all the spark plugs looked the same. Do you guys think it might be one of the split fires that are breaking down?? or standard one. As soon as it hits anything above 16 psi it just starts stuttering badly due to ignition breake up. What hp rating would be good to get 250 rwkw from a turbo i mean like a 400hp or 450hp??? Cheers Anthony
  20. It's defintally not the fuel pump it's ignition break up. like i said before i do have one standard coil and all the rest of them are splitfires. So do you think it could be because they are geting to hot?? Cheers Anthony
  21. The rb20 was making 222rwkw on sam's (dr drifts) dyno on 16 psi so i was hoping to make about 240-250. I've gtot a gt30 500hp turbo with a .63 rear A/R. The car goes good but would love to have it make 250 expecially with the red line set at 8300 rpm Cheers Anthony
  22. I'm running ngk's which dr drift gave me the fuel pump is a walbrogh (spelling) and the A/F rations were fine
  23. Yea it's running a microguess with avcr so yea the boost cut is set at 20psi Cheers Anthony
  24. Hi People I had my car on the dyno at Dr drifts and she was going real good right up until 16psi where she started missfireing. We regapped the sparkplugs to .5mm and we also ran direct power to the coil packs and we still got missfire. I've got 5 splitfires and 1 standard coil but the standard coil lookes like it's in good condition. does any one have any ideas why it's misfiring??? i want to run my car on 19psi and this is shiting me now any help would be great. Cheers anthony
  25. Well to make good power what you would have to do is change fuel pump and also injectors depending on what cc they are, change head gasket and get a re map for your computer everything else is fine. Dr drift has made +250 rwkw on na motors with just a bolt on turbo, fuel and headgasket. Cheers anthony
