2001 Magna wagon, 3.5L. Friend just traded one in with 170,000kms for $2k Bland car and FWD, but prob a better car than a Falcon/Commodore as its Japanese... unless you need to tow big weight. Biggest downfall is the front seats. They give me a sore back quickly. Bulletproof Cheap Space

Having thought about it, I'm now thinking it is. Because none of the police were using radars. Just sitting in cars or standing around them. Prob makes sense to have another crew just down the road to allow for the info to come back on rego scans. Looked like a small telescope (80-100mm diameter and maybe 400mm long) sitting on a small tripod at the rear drivers side of the van, which was parked on the nature strip.

Just drove past this outbound on Nepean Hwy. Outside Ford/Holden Dealership - 1 dark grey van with a tripod radar/camera pointing backwards + 2 TMU cars + 2 motorbikes. 1km further up the road just before Panasales - 2 TMU cars + 1 unmarked white Camry + 2 more motorbikes. Officers cheerfully handing out tickets. Stay safe folks.

This is the kind of garbage speeds I get on ADSL2 living 3.9km from my exchange. Several of my mates I play online with who use Telstra cable get really low pings. It becomes a huge disadvantage playing online FPS's, to the point you just cannot compete. They're just took quick on the trigger response over IP. For driving games, ping doesn't really matter. As I don't game much these days, I'll take the slower speeds, cheaper prices, better quotas & no upload counters.

Laptop is over 18months old now, but HP Elitebook 8530W Intel Core 2 Duo 9600 @ 2.8Ghz 4GB RAM 320 WD HDD 512MB Nvidia Quadro FX770M HP docking Station 2 x HP 22" LCDs Windoze 7 It's a work laptop. Oops, must have accidentally spec'd it up at the time for gaming.

A REAL privatetracker with invite only is the way to go. Nothing like 300 seeds with 2 or 3 leachers. Will max out any connection considering those guys overseas are uploading at several hundred Kbps each. You know Oz users are being sold a "broadband" pup when there's groups out there asking for minimum 50Mbit upload users to join a project. Rapidshare costs $, but for those with uploads counted, it's the way to go. I've seen over 2Mbit DL's on a cable connection.

The video card isn't up to scratch for that game. The video stories with run smooth on most computers, but when you play it, the video card must render each frame at a time. To make do with what you have, download the latest drivers for that card here Then download the latest DirectX drivers for that card here Reboot the PC Go into then settings/video options within the game and drop everything as low as you can. You will then at least get the game flow to stop stuttering and run smooth, but the detail will be down. Turn off stuff like anti-aliasing and shadow effects. From there, bump up the resolution settings bit by bit, try the game and continue rising the reso til you find the sweet spot. Enjoy. The COD series is great. COD4 was the best IMO.

and that's a good outcome compared to if you hit a car or a pedestrian. Suspended is same as unregistered. Courts will reem you then. Don't risk it mate.

Handy setup for burnout comp... do a skid bro

I had 20% on a previous ride, but the ex now has that. Better call her to say there's huge sales on in the city. lol I found dark rainy nights to be a little challenging with dark tint.

Isn't that a TVR Chimaera?

Geez, I din't know that either. I'm surprised they won't do 3rd party. Not like golf ball panels would contribute to an accident. Hate to say this, but without insurance, the buy price on these damaged cars should be next to nothing. You wouldn't want to have an at-fault accident. I would have thought that so long as they have enough pics of the damage, they'd still insure it. Hope you sort it out.

Maybe the crash is karma for you're immature sig. Obviously you don't know anyone who lived thru WW2.

I get work to buy them and I love Targus backpacks. They're around $70-$140, but the quality is top notch. Very well made and rugged. Find the model you want, then go to www.staticice.com.au and search on it. That will do the shopping around for you in a few seconds.

LOL. A very naive comment. Firstly, a lot of grey imports have had their clocks spun. Secondly, I had an R34 and ruined a gearbox. A very costly experience. FYI - I bought a 34 as they were the newest and I hoped for a trouble-free ownership... not to be. Still wish I had one tho.

Should have been clearer. It was clear witnessing it that the police weren't after him for doing a burnout. He must have been "on the list" for something worse, judging by the way the divvy launched over a concrete sunk bollard.

I was travelling outbound on the Westgate Fwy tonight and it took me 40mins from Kingsway to the Shell servo at the base of the Westgate. I decided to pull up there, rather than sit in traffic. Not long after, I hear a massive burnout and turn around to see a divvy van doing a U-turn. The burnout was done by the car they were chasing. A V8 VN Commodore. The divvy goes onto a grassy median strip, knocks down a post concreted into the ground, back wheels launching into the air (scraping underneath) and it's off into the Shell fuelling area. The Commodore races thru the fuelling zone and because of the gridlocked traffic, tries to go straight onto the fwy, off-road style. Runs over a tap, water gushing everywhere, goes sideways and crashes through some pool fencing where it gets stuck. He then legs it through the KFC drive through where a few of us were standing. He looks desperate and is screaming to people for their keys. No one obliges, so he sprints on foot towards the bridge. By this stage 2 police officers are legging it after him. People are runnign around saying "LOck you cars! Hide your keys!" He tries to get into a passenger door of a 4WD stuck on the on-ramp, when a policewoman lets fly with a large can of capsicum spray. By this stage it's goodnight Irene and he's dazed. They tackle him to the ground, cuff him and haul him off to the car. We all thought it may have been today's gunman, but he was a skanky aussie 26-27 yrs old. The gumnan description was 19 yrs old and of Spanish appearace. A policeman later confirmed it wasn't the gunman and that hes still at large. Anyway, it made for an eventful drive home.

Thanks for all the advice guys. I did think of the tack weld, but looked around and no welder. I might go with the smaller cheapo socket + hammer. The spark plug is a great idea, but might drop my road clearance belong 100mm. A COUPLE OF HUNDRED??!! How is that reasonable Ash?

Last night I decided to service my car. In the process of undoing the sump plug, I rounded it to the point I can't. Tried plumber's stilsons, hoping the teeth would grip it but to no avail. Filed back the head to square. Had a thought of hacksawing the head and using a large blade screwdriver but the bolt seems to be a fairly soft metal. Anyone got any ideas from here?

Winning bidder paid just over AU$50k. A good buy for it's one-off hybrid appeal and the fact it cost AU$70k to build. Now what would they have fetched if they held an online auction over the Bathurst weekend in a country where the real Holden/Ford fans live.

I find it difficult to get there on Weekdays, so I went down there on a Saturday at 12:30 as I knew they closed at 1pm. Found them closed. Big signage said 1pm close on Sat. Opening times on door said 12:30pm close. Went back the next weekend at 12noon and they were also closed. I called them a few times this morning, but no answer. Anyone know if they're now closed on Saturdays? That's 3 weekends in a row it appears that way. Are there similarly priced companies in the area? I'm not a fan of bigger auto chain's high prices.

Paul, it's fair enough to say "remain on on topic", but how can cops blitz loud cars when there's harleys everywhere that are louder than most street cars kicking around? MUZT3K, many of these offenders aren't from the stereotypical bikie clans. It's a joke.
-
Yeah, how about pingin' some of those fat monkeys on Harleys? Most of them are offensively loud!

Hi all, Anyone know who's got the best deal on iridium spark plugs? Preferably in Moorabbin area. Thanks
