My advice that came too late is you shouldn't drive an import near Knox area if you are under 25y.o. Sounds like they pick on young guys in these cars. A mate saw a MY04/05 WRX last week in Fitzroy St, St Kilda with the lambo style doors. High wank factor IMHO. Aftermarket ECU prob a good idea, but I believe cops go looking for them - aren't they illegal in Vic??

My insurance policy states that they will only insure my vehicle if I have a black wire alarm installed - period. Also, some crap about no being insured if I park it on the street within 500m of my house. Theft excess is Until recently I have never been pulled over by the cops, until Knox TMU caught sight of me on the roadside, but that was nearly 12 months after I bought it. If you live/drive near Knox driving an import could be a hassle for this reason, but at your age, I can't imagine too much hassles from the boys in blue. Insurance I would imagine might be less than $1000 for you with a fairly stock R33, but depends on company. The killer with insurance is theft excess. My std excess is about $450 + "import excess" of $700, so any crash is $1,150. If it's stolen, then it's another $700 bucks, so that's $1,850. Owwwch!

I'm tipping the Porsche pulling 1:14's would have been the black one. Without seeing times, I was tipping that and the mad 32GTR to be fighting for fastest lap of the day. Anyway, I'M IMPRESSED! Speaking of stacks, I nearly saw the black Ferrari cause a 200+km/hr doozie on the main straight with (from memory) that black Porsche trying to pass - looked very close from the pits!

I'm with Ronin on that one. How can get get shitty (haha, pardon the pun) when you were happy to pay 1/3 of the price without saying anything, then when things turned around & you break even you jump up & down. I know they can refund, but not sure of legality of chrging without a sig. I went to a Japanese Tepanyaki Restaurant in Sth Melb once with a group of friends. The bill came to over $700. We checked it over & were charged about $100 extra. Maybe it was a mistake & maybe it was a case of (oh well, there's 12 people, so they won't even notice).
