Black Spur is a good drive, but can get some traffic. A quiter road and IMO a way better/tighter run is The Reefton run. Called Reefton-something Rd and runs to Warburton. I usually go from Healesville -> Warburton, starting with the Black Spur. Be careful, coz a mate had a VERY close call with a side mirror and tyre (on full lock) just grazing a massive tree and a reflector post. See piccy attached.

If there was a fire, it would have been a pisser. A mate is a fireman and if a car if parked adjacent a hydrant when they need to fill up, they don't hesiate to smash windows on each side, then run a hose straight through the car to get to the firetruck.

I went to Old Kingdom last night and can now agree that the duck is a winner! Must have changed hands as other reports say the chef is hilarious and a "Duck nazi", but I didn't see anyone of that description. 4 adults, a kid, a couple of ducks, a soup and 1 x icecream and some corkage set me back $130. Decor is ordinary, but the important bit (the food) was up there. Good value IMO.

I still haven't come to terms with HTF Geelong actually lost it!?!?!
-
FYI - they drive unmarked Pajero's too.

Mate of mine has an AutoBahn store and has a $15k audio visual install in his WRX, installed by his shop. A+++ PM me if you want further info.

True. I am making a special trip out to Springvale tomorrow as I hear there's a shop in the main drag called "Phuc Dat". My latest hobby is collecting funny retail sign pics taken by myself.

A mate's brother was working for him and loaded a 30tonne excavator onto a low-loader semi. Swung the boom as he was loading and flipped it onto his brother's brandd new Landcruiser Sahara. Total write-off! Same guy left a nightclub with me at 4am in the City. Got a cab straight to the farm job (pissed) and was driving the same excavator and flipped it on it's side. Fell asleep and the farmer woke him up 3hrs later. There's 7 boys and I could go on forever about this family and their f@$kups!

That's the sh!t, right there. I love ur evil mind. Now put ur mind to learning to frive a 6wheel articulated vehicle and not rolling it! LOL!

As you can see from the pic I upped, I pulled up in front of the tripod for 5mins to see what would happen. Would have loved to take a kip for 1/2hr, but had to get back to the office. I didn't see anyone approaching and although there were a couple of cars around, no one was in them and the cars didn't look stereotypical of what I thought they might. ie new cars. The car mounted cameras were $80k each and I'm guessing these setups must be worth $40+k, if not more. Therefore I would expect someone to be in close proximity. I wouldn't be suprised if those camera's auto-snap pics if you get within, say, 3m of it as a self preservation exercise.

I reckon it'd be funny for those with spare cars to park them in front of these cameras and leave it there all day. The bloke will come back and find zero shots taken. F#$K 'em!

Geelong for premiers 2008 is a no-brainer man. Just a matter of whether they beat Hawthorn by 10 goals or 20. GO CATS!!!

A couple of weeks ago I was in a cab on my way to Melb airport when the driver pointed out a new speed camera. Rather than the usual camera in a car on the roadside, this one was a radar/speed detector & camera on a small tripod about 2-3 feet high and a silver metal box about .5m squared all sitting on the kerbside, with seemingly noone else around. I saw another on High St Glen Iris yesterday lunchtime, not far from Malvern Rd intersection. One each side. I think I may have been clocked doing 65 in a 60 zone as I was a bit slow in noticing it. These are going to be huge cash cows for the greedy Vic govt as they are no where near as obvious as the usual cars with tinted windows. I spoke to a courier yesterday arvo, as they are always on the road. He said his brother-in-law was clocked speeding by one of these, but was not fined as (supposedly) they are still in the testing phase. I'll get back to you on that, pending my letterbox drops. Anyway, here's a pic (taken from a crappy Nokia phone) so you can get to know your enemy.

Is this the place that brings out the same duck 3 or 4 times for different courses, ending in the skeletal system becoming a soup? If so, a colleague said it was the best duck place in Melb. The chef is supposed to be hilarious too. Funny like good chefs in a Tepanyaki restaurant.

Noticed this Chinese restaurant last night in Heathmont and couldn't resist a photo op. Qn is... Would you eat there??

Saigon Bakery, half way along Victoria St, Richmond has killer BBQ Pork/Chicken salad rolls for around $3.50. Slightly better are the one's at the vietnamese bakery in Puckle St, Moonee Ponds. One near station in Springvale main drag also don't do a bad job. There's a lot of bakeries that disappoint as they use cold chicken or pork loaf, but not the 2 mentioned above.

Friday night, Cantebury Rd Blackburn. Covertible silver Lambo (not sure of model but looked brand spankers) leaving a carwash cafe, top down.

Great suggestions guys! Keep it up. I agree that Pacific House in Richmond is excellent for Peking Duck. Having read everyone's comments I'm now hankering for some good asian food and think I'll use the father's day thing to see me get there.

The burning mouth, the crying, the ringing ears I can handle. But now with less than a third of the burger to go my stomach seizes up and refuses to let me put anything into it. I take a deep breath and look for my can of "harden the f**k up" when I notice that my mate Thommo has stopped eating his burger just beyond the halfway point and is wandering aimlessly up and down the street. He has honestly lost the plot and is walking around in circles. I decide I can't be defeated and manage one more bite before my stomach explains at this point that it is about to return to me everything i have just eaten at high speed. not being able to face the prospect of vomiting back something that hot i pull off my gloves and admit defeat with 2 mouthfuls to go. The staff can't believe I have got this close and not finished it but at this point i really don't give a f**k because i have just started to hallucinate. No exaggerations here for the next 15-20 minutes or so as we just sat there i was completely off my face. it is one of the strangest drug experiences I have ever had (thats a BIG call). The closest thing I can liken it to is the feeling you have when you are coming off an "e" and you are really jumpy, agitated, spun out and trippy. Can i recommend this burger to anyone? No f**king way. Haha, had be laughing ou loud when I read this. A couple of years ago I would have taken the Pepsi challenge, but now I am weak when it comes to really hot munga.

I prob shouldn't sh!tcan a business, but I heard some bad stuff a few yrs ago about that establishment. Suspected stolen cars from Japan and selling here. Know someone who bought one there and the cops paid a visit to check it out. If that has happened and cops prove it, you lose ur cash and the car! To be fair, it could happen thru a private sale too. The Vehicle Securities Registrar can send you a record the car for $8.50, but don't cover you for this, so It's pointless really.

Hi Crew, I am a big fan of Thai food and especially Vietnamese. Not really a lover of Chinese these days. IMO it's a bit thick-saucy/gluggy. Wondering if anyone has a fave place. My fave is Wy Wy in Kensington (opp the old Geebung/Sydney Liars Club). Fave entree is @ a Vietnamese place in Footscray. It's garlic prawns on a sizzling dish. Cheap as and I think it's called Hy Hy or Huy Huy in Hopkins St. Had some good Viet food in Springvale too. Best Thai ever is in Sherwood Road, Toowong (Brisbane). It's freakin' awesome Thai!!!! Over to you.

Talking duck, I recommend the Peking Duck @ Pacific House in Victoria St, Richmond. It's about 1/2 way down on the southern side of the street. Seafood is good too. They grab it from a tank next door and bring it in for your blessing before they pan it.
