Yeah that extra litre makes a *big* difference. I used to have a VN 5L with 200rwhp cam and chip with a shift kit, so im missing the torque and gear chirping. The RB20 should be more fun with 4.11's and a T28 though. Even now; when it eventually manages to hit full boost its alot of fun, but if you're in the wrong gear at the wrong time, its can be disappointing
That's not as bad as you might think. What you have to remember is that trimatic V8's have 2.78 diff gears, compare that for example to an R32 skylines 4.3 diff gears.. apples and oranges.. chuck a 4.11 minispool and mild hydraulic cam, lifters and stiffer valve springs in and they're not so pathetic..
Considering most import Skylines have pod filters, raised boost and exhausts I don't think it's that unreasonable. While the V8's might be able to keep up or even power ahead on the straights there's nothing like a Nissan or Toyota to teach you a lesson through the twisties :headspin:
