  1. I have a series 2 stock airbox how much you offer for it, do you want the cai part as well?
  2. menios can I put a .82 exhaust a/r on it? please post the part number of the turbo
  3. Is the 4dr boot trim different to coupe boot trim? If its suitable for 4dr I'm interested in boot trim too. Melbourne is no prob.
  4. Joel, Oops does it work for low throttle too? If you want fuel economy you will still need the low throttle tuned to 14:1 as well. Most of the time thats what you sit on while cruising. Don't forget, just plugging in a PowerFC will actually give you bad fuel economy. For better fuel economy you still need to tune the PowerFC too! The thing is both the tune programming and making maps are accessible on the microtech through the laptop software. Can anyone tell me what maps the PowerFC won't let you alter? as I'm considering getting a Power FC and testing it. I'm getting a new front mount fitted tomorrow. I'll let you know what fuel/air ratio I get for idle once I have the microtech fitted and tuned after this.
  5. Microtech do make one that hooks correctly to auto transmission computer. The LTX-12 computer calculates more calculations per second or at least very similar - so should be just as smooth if not smoother. A MAP sensor is not less accurate! The full power of tuning software for every parameter and even the maps themselves is available to end user and mechanics in English and not just a Japanese apexi authorised workshop only version. It stores 4 tuned programs which you can switch between using either hand controller or laptop, or the dash display (shows dials). The idle problem is not a problem on the microtech in any way if it is tuned right down to 500rpm which is absolutely possible. The thing is it does require tuning all through the rev range and not just for above half throttle and full throttle. Need low throttle tuned as well. The overall time required to do this tuning is dependant on the dyno machine used. on a dynopak dyno, 3 hours should do it plus a couple of cold starts. Just so you know what closed loop is - all it does is set the fuel/air mix to 14:1 when no throttle (idle). Just as easily done by including low throttle and low rpm in the tune. If you want it cheaper - I'll check, just pm me.
  6. no fear. it must. But I'm wondering what rpm the boost starts building and when it reaches full boost on MattR's car. And also how is it tuning for idle?
  7. how is your idle? apparently you can tune the idle, just wondering how sucessful. also with the td06 when does boost start building and also come on fully rpm wize?
  8. you can leave the afm where it is - no need to remove it and you can still hook up the air and temp sensor. Air flows through it thats all. So will still look stock.
  9. Joel - it is plug and play with afm but as I said before it is best to install the air temp sensor with the map sensor and tune it soon after install because otherwise it will run rich. If you are going to do this then it is best to go the air temp sensor and map sensor - very easy and technically just as accurate because the pressured area (engine) does not change. The map sensor is built into the LTX-12 (same as autronic) - just run a short hose to the same nipple on the manifold where the boost guage connects with a T piece. What is the point of buying a programmable race computer if you arn't going to tune it to make it efficient (and save fuel) on your particular engine? Sure the timing will be more advanced and more power but it will be running rich, not very good for spark plugs.
  10. Joel - Thanks for that info. Nice so a LTX-16 is coming! How much will it be? Wish I was still waiting before purchasing one for mine. I got mine including hand controller, all up including dyno tune cost $2100 + self install of the air temp sensor, and piping the inbuilt map sensor and plugging in the computer into standard ECU socket. I was talking about the LTX-12 Plug N Play for R33 which has R33 connector dongle and immediate drive away tune, that PNP only came out in the last few months. It also has laptop connection and software included. Thats what the "L" stands for.
  11. The big advantage of the new R33 Microtech is that the standard loom plugs directly into it! Easy. and it uses the standard electronic boost controller, to create the different boost levels. ie. you don't have to buy a new one of these. Don't forget to price in labour of installing new wiring for an Autronic as well as extra dyno time.
  12. LTX-12 for R33 does not have closed loop. I rang them. It is already out, they just don't have enough production. They won't answer your calls in the morning anymore because they are working madly to produce them. You have to resort to calling the mobile number in the afternoon. Microtech are at Putney in Sydney. But they are pretuned for the R33 - you will still need to take it to a dyno real quick because Microtech said they will foul the plugs otherwise as they will run rich if you don't tune and install the air temp sensor. The pretune doesn't have the map for the air temp sensor at all. Needs to be put in while dyno tuning. You can get R33 standard / R33 auto / and R33 GT models If you want brand new ones for $1650 pm me.
  13. The AFM is under your air filter box in the bit of black plastic pipe that has four bolts that connect to the underside of the filter box. It sticks out into the middle of the pipe from the square box on the side.
  14. Need you to recommend size of blades - ie. whether GCG have the right idea with their 57mm sierra blade combo?
  15. what size is the largest inconel turbine wheel I can fit with this? Where or what turbo do the inconel turbine wheels come from? And with the above largest inconel turbine wheel - what size compressor wheel is best?
  16. I get 400k to a tank if I run my boost turned up high. If I run my boost standard I get only 300k to a tank.
  17. scratch that - wonder why the fuel economy is so variable even with a s-afc - try running at 11psi and see if that fixes it.
  18. someone tell me if they can get over 190kph in a standard computer R33 s2 auto please
  19. what mods have you got on your auto? have you ever gone over 190kph in your auto? my series 2 seems to have a auto speed cut there or otherwise a serious loss of power. the previous 180kph speed cut has been removed sucessfully though
  20. what is the standard timing for an R33? does the series 2 have diffent timing to the earlier model
  21. I really appreciated these last few posts. Thanks. The most interesting diferences being the 3 types antilag and 3 types traction control, auto tuning and availablilty of NOS control. Am I right in assuming that a microtech could be specially programmed for one type of antilag, but not the traction control? what is ?? multiple staged injector firing (long and short) what is this for? What does it do?
  22. how noisy is it? very quiet while cruising at 100kph? or steady level noise throughout acceleration? or really noisy up top?
  23. what size is the nismo catback?
  24. but the point is don't brake with your foot on the clutch! and remember to accelerate hard when you let the clutch connect into that 2nd gear at a road speed that is correct to give you acceleration in 2nd gear. Downshifting has nothing to do with slowing the cars drivetrain. more like keeping it sped up.
